Chapter 5

Chapter 5. Cory realize that there was no hiding the hand gun on her person considering how revealing the outfit she was wearing was so she placed both the gun and her old pair of cowboy boots into her duffle bag before exiting the bus station bathroom. Cory walked out of the bathroom wearing a nice pair of black leather steel toe boots. She knew it was a risk keeping the thug’s gun but now she was in the big city and it may come in handy. Cory could barely make out Timmy standing on the far opposite side of the busy bus station. He was still on the phone as Cory slowly made her way through the crowd toward him when she noticed a television set hanging on a partition wall in a waiting area broadcasting the local News. It looked like one of the news station crews did manage to catch her and Timmy on camera before they made there escape from Lynn township. There she was on the TV screen all wrapped in a blanket with Timmy’s arm around her on the front porch of her home. Cory now wasn’t sure how Timmy’s dad the sheriff was going to keep her out of the spotlight but the Winters family was about the only people in the world she still had any kind of faith with. Cory begins to made her way to Timmy again but only manages a few steps when suddenly the image of a dead naked woman riding a statue of a seven headed Dragon popped up on the television screen. “I’ve never seen a Picasso before” said Jason Grey now standing beside Cory looking intensely at the TV. “but that is a fucking work of art” Cory didn’t say anything about the way the image of the murdered hooker made her feel inside and she doesn’t have to, Jason could feel how worked up it made Cory feel in her lady parts. “it’s beautiful but why display the victim in the open like that” ask Cory breaking her awkward silence in the hopes that Jason Grey could give her a answer. Jason Grey started off by explains to Cory that both him and her are what you would call thrill killers that do what they do because it is exciting to them, Jason also points out that this type of killer display’s his victim’s because it is a ritual to him that puts him on a much higher level. “I wish I knew where his design came from” said Jason with a joyful curiosity himself. “the whore of Babylon” said Cory answering Jason’s question and trying very hard to remove from her mind Jason’s reference of calling her a thrill killer. Cory remembered reading about the whore of Babylon in the book of Revelations from the bible. That was back in a time when she uses to attend Church on a regular basis, A time before she was attacked by Jason Grey. Jason found himself now laughing because Cory seem to hate herself for being a killer and it was also very sad to him at the same time because she was so good at killing. “I like your idea” said Jason after a moment of silence. “I wasn’t saying anything” replied Cory but deep inside she was already kicking herself because she knew Jason could read her thoughts . “your thinking about how fun it would be to hunt this guy” said Jason. “The only thing your not sure about is if you want to kill him or fuck him” “I’m not that person anymore” said Cory very angry and she could feel right away that Jason Grey has an obsession with this new killer. Timmy steps in front of Cory startling at her for a second, Cory couldn’t believe that she let herself get so distracted by Jason Grey’s thoughts so much that she let someone as clumsy as Timmy get the jump on her. “my Aunt Meg will meet us out front of the bus station in about ten minutes” said Timmy try to figure out why Cory had an expression of guilt across her face like a child that got caught with both it’s hands inside the cookie jar. Meg Show was a little irritated at the request of her brother in law sheriff Randy Winters. He called her up a few hours ago and at the drop of a hat pretty much demanded for her to keep her nephew Timmy and Timmy’s girlfriend Cory for a few weeks like she owned the local motel or bed and breakfast. Her brother in law called it a emergency. Meg knew from talking to her brother in law that Timmy’s girlfriend Cory was a victim of a violence rape crime several weeks back and this morning Meg watch TV to see Lynn township her ex-hometown on the morning news. Her brother in law forgot to mention that the girl could possibly be a part of a murder investigation. Meg had to reel it back for a moment and remind herself that her relatives wasn’t responsible for her own troubles and she knew if she told her brother in law sheriff Randy Winters what was going on in her life right now he would come a running with both guns a blazing if need be, but Meg was a strong independent woman capable of dealing with her own messes. Meg set in her car and waited from a far as Timmy and his girlfriend walked out of the bus station. Meg worked as a psychologist therapist and understood that most rape victims had a tendency of becoming promiscuous after there attack but when Cory stepped out of the bus station Meg believed the teen girl would easy past for a hooker selling her body on the main drag of the city. Meg Slowly pulled her car forward and picked up the two teenagers. Timmy’s Aunt Meg gives Cory a dirty look when Timmy take a seat in the back of the car next to Cory. “looks like mother hen is worrying about Timmy boy’s virginity” said Jason Grey inside Cory’s head. Cory didn’t need Jason’s remarks to notice the way Aunt Meg looked back at her in the car’s rearview mirror. Timmy gently held Cory’s hand during the short car ride but neither one said a word to Aunt Meg or each other. When they arrived at the apartment building where Aunt Meg lived it looked very nice in what appeared to be a working-class neighborhood and Cory also seem to notice a gang of Latinos that were covered with many tattoos sitting in a long low rider car. The car was a older Lincoln Continental with MS-13 logos painted all over the car in a graffiti style. “looks like the local street gang is trying to keep a low profile” joked Jason Grey. “nothing flashy about that car at all” Cory could sense a more then normal uneasiness feeling in Timmy’s Aunt Meg toward the street gang as Meg hesitated putting the car into park after parking in her parking spot. Meg seen the car full of the MS-13 gang members acrossed the street and her first instinct was to run. It took every ounce of Courage she had to put the car in park. Meg refuse to be ran out of her own home or bullied from the neighborhood. Meg told herself that the violent street gang may not be here for her this time around, it was that time of the month when the street gang would normally make there rounds to all the local businesses and collect for protection and racket scams that they ran all over the neighborhood. Every since the gang had moved to this side of the city about a year ago they have been unchallenged. The street gang has ruthlessly gunned down everybody that has tried to opposed them from the cops to anyone who dares to refuse to pay for there protection. The gang has only gotten stronger since the city’s elected officials had taken a political stand to try to abolish ICE, a government law enforcement agencies that’s trying to stop or at least slow down the flow of drugs and human trafficking from other countries. The State Governor has even gone as far as refusing to help or work with ICE the only law enforcement agencies in the nation that’s been brave enough to make a stand against the lawless MS-13 street gangs and the city’s mayor has even himself threatened to follow suit with other cities like in California and become a Sanctuary cities. Meg remembered how at once upon a time this use to be a safe place to live. That was a time when the state politicians worked for the voting people instead of this corrupt system where criminals have more rights then it’s own citizens and calling you a racist if you don’t support there open boarder policies. Meg hoped to feel safer once her and the two teenagers enter the building, Meg lives in an apartment on the third floor and it was a long walk since the buildings elevator has not worked in the past two years. The stairway was right across from the buildings main office where two of the tattooed gang members stood outside the office door and a third member collected protection money from the building’s manager inside the office. One of the gang members standing outside the office had a tattoo on his chest of Jesus hanging on a cross that was wrapped up in barb wire. This gang member with the Jesus tattoo grabs a hold of his own crotch and begins shaking it toward Cory as he makes comments about her skimpy outfit in the best English he could manage. Cory turns her attention to the gang member with the Jesus tattoo for a moment, she could see that he had a .38 special hand gun very poorly hidden in the wristband of his saggy pants. Cory knew that her own gun that she had taken from the thug back at the bus station earlier today was secretly hidden away in her duffle bag and she wondered how hard it would be for her to take this gang member’s weapon from him and then quickly kill the other two members. Suddenly Jason Grey showed Cory a number of ways of how she could easily do the scenario inside her head just like he showed her with the armed thug earlier back at the bus station restroom. Cory knew the only reason Jason Grey was showing her how to deal with the gang was just him trying to get her all jacked up. Timmy suddenly felted very uncomfortable with the way Cory stared down the three gang members as he quickly grabs her by the arm, he was surprised to find it took a degree of force to lead Cory away from the gang members and up the stairway. They only managed to get a few steps when the one of the gang member yells up the stairway at Aunt Meg. “hey Doc, Tito hasn’t forgotten about you” yelled the gang member. Hearing them words caused Meg to stop in her tracks and visually shake in fear for a few seconds before running up the stairs, it upset Meg even more to hear the gang members laugh at her as she ran away. Tito Gomez was a cold blooded killer and was a highly valuable lieutenant in the MS-13 street gang till recently he was captured and brought up on murder charges. A rumor circulated around that one of the newer gang members was talking to the police so Tito looked into the rumor to find there was no basis of truth to it. Tito fear that the rumor made the gang look weak so he hacked up the gang member with a machete in the middle of a busy street full of witnesses to make a point that you don’t fuck with the MS-13 gang. Meg Show was ask by the court justice system to do a psychological evaluation on Tito Gomez and she found no signs of mental health issues that would keep Tito from going to trail for his crime. Tito still threaten to kill Meg if she didn’t somehow find him to be crazy in the hopes of him going to a mental Institute or the US government deporting him. Meg Show’s pride refused to be intimidated by the street gang member. After all this was America where justice prevails and not some third world country. Since then the MS-13 street gang has stalked her as local authorities has refuse to give her any kind of help or protection. Now her foolish decision haunts her everyday and could easily be the death of her.
