Chapter 26 Agent Jones wakes up to find himself handcuffed to a metal chair on one sides of the room facing the blonde girl. “it’s about time you woke up” said the blonde girl sounding concern. “I was afraid that you were dead or something” “what do you mean by something” ask Agent Jones feel a sharp pain in the back of his skull that ran down his neck. “maybe he hit you to hard and turned you into a vegetable” joked the blonde girl. “or retarded” added Jason Grey standing off to the side. Agent Jones laughed hard at the blonde girl joke at first and it made the teen girl wonder if the special Agent suffered from irreversible damage. After the laughter comes to a end Cory introduce herself and Agent Jones did the same back. The two are suddenly startled when they hear a clapping noise and they look over to see. “Bravo” said Preacher walking through the door of the room clapping his hands. “the long arm of the law had finally caught up with me” “what the fuck are you telling about” ask Cory with a bit of confusion in her voice as she stares over at Preacher. “this asshole haves you chained up in this little warehouse and you mean to tell me that you don’t have a clue about who he is” ask Agent Jones then he breaks out into laughter again. “this is going to be good” said Jason Grey And he gives Cory a wink suggesting that he known who Preacher was. Agent Jones begins to explained what he knew to Cory when he is rudely interrupted. “our good pastor here is the God’s will killer” says Timmy as he enters into the room and moves over by Preacher’s side like a loyal follower. “Yahtzee” yelled Jason Grey then he follows up with laughter. Cory found herself to be irritated for a moment because she seem to be the only person in the room to of not known the true identity of the God’s will killer. She looked over at Timmy and couldn’t help to feel a great degree of heartbreak. Timmy could feel right away that his betrayal hit Cory hard But back at the hospital Preacher told Timmy his Secret after agreeing to help him rid Cory of her demonic intruder. Timmy so desperately wanted his old Cory back so badly that he would of sold his soul to the devil if he believed for a moment it would work on returning his love to him. Timmy turns his attention to FBI Agent Jones and he admitted to himself that he wish the man no harm as long as Agent Jones stayed the Hell out of there way. Soon Preacher picks up his bible and he goes back to circling Cory and preaching about how Jesus’s disciples when around casting out devil’s and demons in every city they visited. Then Preacher picks up his vial of holy water and once again Cory finds herself going back into fits of screaming as Preacher began another day of throwing the holy water back on her and it still felt like hot burning liquid and he continued to scream in her face about how the power of Christ will compels her. Agent Jones soon tried everything he could think of to get the attention of Preacher but the God’s will killer seem to kept his focus on the Cory Potts like a laser pen pointed on it’s target. Agent Jones being an atheist and the fact that he’s never watched any kind of horror movie about possession or demons. Jones had not any idea that he was witnessing a live exorcism. he just watched intensely as the Preacher throw his liquid on the girl and even though it seem to leave no damaging marks Agent Jones found it to be eerie that the liquid was boiling on the blonde girl’s skin like throwing cold water on a red hot stove pipe. The hardest part for Agent Jones to endure was hearing the continue non-stop screaming of the blonde girl’s pain and suffering Timmy stood around most of the day listening to Preacher gives his sermon about demons in the bible and fighting with himself from going mad from hearing his girlfriend’s screams. Timmy then turned his attention to Agent Jones the FBI Agent that decided to crash there little party, Timmy had trouble most of the day trying not to look at him. “what are we going to do about him” said Preacher as he notices that Timmy was staring at the FBI Agent. Preacher then decides to pockets his holy water for a short break and he takes a seat Indian style on the floor. “I don’t give dam what we do to him” said Timmy uncaring. Timmy could look at Preacher and tell right away that it’s been a rough day so far. Preacher was covered from head to toe in sweat and both Preacher and Cory were now breathing heavily. “have any luck with her yet” ask Timmy but he tone suggested that he already knew the answer. “don’t lose heart because these things are more like a marathon then a race” said Preacher with a understanding in his tired voice. Timmy nods his head at Preacher in understanding then turns to Cory. Timmy noticed that Cory seem to have a angry glare in her eyes toward him and he didn’t care, this thing wasn’t his girlfriend. It was a thing that defiled his girlfriend. “so you’re the God’s will killer little accomplice now” ask Agent Jones. “I don’t have to explain myself to you” said Timmy coldly and feeling justified in his actions. Agent Jones begins to said something else but Timmy picks up the duct tape and wraps it around Agent Jones head covering his mouth. That evening Preacher hands Timmy a handful of wadded-up money to go after food and supplies that turns into an argument as a prideful Timmy hands back the money and assist that he was capable of pay his share in this partnership. When Timmy return it was to find Preacher had removed the duct tape from Agent Jones mouth and was feeding him. Jones tried on a number of occasions after Preacher removed his gag to get Preacher to talk about his crimes but Preacher remained tight lipped. Timmy noticed that he could hear Preacher’s stomach kept growling and he kept eyeing Timmy’s food. “I got food for you and Cory also” stated Timmy feeling a little worried for the holy man. “no” yelled Preacher then he when on to explain that both him and the girl need to fast for there ritual of exorcism to work. Timmy nodded his head in understanding. Soon Preacher and Timmy called it a night and step out of the room. “I don’t understand why he’s doing this” said Cory and tears start streaming down both sides of her face. “because this Preacher Smith is a very sick man” answered Agent Jones. “not him” said Cory. “Timmy” Agent Jones thinks about everything that his partner Edwin Storm had told him about New York and from the way the boyfriend had been acting today. Jones explain to Cory the best he can about what he learned being in law enforcement as long as he had. The victim suffers a life changing event that makes they either weaker or much stronger and the family members or love ones cant accept the change. “your saying he wants the old weak me back” said Cory. “correct” said Agent Jones. “even if I could get rid of Jason Grey I could never go back to what I once was” said Cory. Jones recognize that Jason Grey was Cory’s attacker in New York but Preacher got her and the boy Timmy brainwashed into believing that she was possessed by a demon. “you need to convince your boyfriend that you’re the old you so maybe he can help you escape” said Agent Jones. “you mean so we can escape” said Cory trying to sound optimistic but she notice that a sadness seem to sweep over Agent Jones. “forget about me kid I be dead as soon as this religious nut finds a way to justify killing me inside his head” said Agent Jones. Cory didn’t like the way Jones seem to come to terms with dying. “don’t talk like that” yelled Cory feeling herself get frustrated. “we’re leaving this hell hole together” Agent Jones finds himself laughing. “what’s so funny” ask a confused Cory. “I have this partner in the bureau” said Agent Jones. “he is a big fan of your work in New York” “ok” said Cory but it took her a moment to realize what Agent Jones was talking about. Somebody knew she was the one that killed the Grey family of psychopaths. “Your partner must be some kind of super cop” said Cory not knowing if she should feel honored or feel worried that some FBI Agent has the 411 on her. “he’s always been a little too smart for his own good” said Agent Jones. “and he believes that you killed that whole MS-13 street gang back at the parking garage” “that’s not technically true” said Cory with some hesitation. “I knew it” said Agent Jones feeling a joy that he for once have proofing his partner wrong. “I killed all of them but there leader” said Cory. “he raped Timmy’s Aunt so I only cribbed him so it would be easier for her to get revenge” The only part of the blonde girl’s confession that made sense was the fact that she knew the Aunt was raped that put her at the crime scene. “if we get through this you will have to let me meet your partner” said Cory with a curiosity.
