Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Agent Jones and Agent Storm walked quietly acrossed the hospital parking lot to there car. “what gives” ask Agent Jones addressing his sick partner. “what do you mean” ask Edwin Storm showing a little concern toward his Partner’s question. “you been acting weird” said Jones. “at first I thought it might have been this case but then I realized that you haven’t been yourself since you came back from New York” “I don’t want to drag you into this” said Edwin unsure how he would explain it if he could. “look man, we have worked together for a very long time” said Jones. Edwin thinks about it for a long moment before starting his story in a odd place “have I ever told you my parents were killed back when I was 10 years old” said Edwin. “no” said Agent Jones. “But if were being honest with each other most of us older Agents at the bureau already new about your tragic history” Agent Jones goes on to explain that with Edwin’s father being a Supreme Court judge and the Storm family being incredibly wealthy makes it a very high profile case. Edwin ask himself for a moment why is he sharing what happened to him as a young boy with his partner. Edwin decides now would be a perfect time to jump the story to several weeks ago and leave out the part where he trained early in his life to be a serial killing vigilante known as the Executioner. Edwin tells Jones how he originally when to New York to unofficially investigate the killings of the gas station killer. “I remember him” said Agent Jones mentally recalling the case. “he was a real brutal piece of work” Edwin goes on to express how he wanted to catch Jason Grey while on his vacation. Edwin decided it would be better if he leaves out the part of the story to his partner about hunting the gas station killer for some vigilante justice. “most of us like to jet ski or take up fishing while on vacation” joked Agent Jones. “I like to sport hunting sometimes” said Edwin before continuing with his story. “I was there in Lynn, New York the night Jason Grey the gas station killer died” Edwin pauses as he relived the moment inside his head. “Jason Grey brutally attacked and raped this young teenage girl” said Edwin unable to hide discuss for the man. “But Jason Grey attack cause something to snapped inside that young girl” Edwin goes on to say that the girl only wanted to be left lone after that but Jason Grey’s psycho family come to town looking for revenge. “what happened” ask Agent Jones feeling very curious. “the girl killed them too” said Edwin Storm. “why are you telling me all of this” ask Agent Jones not sure if he wanted to hear anymore. “because I believe that same girl killed our MS-13 street gang” said Edwin. “your saying a teenage girl killed our heavy armed gang with a hatchet at that” said Agent Jones not even hiding his disbelief. “she’s resourceful” said Edwin Storm being serious. “I only care about catching the God’s will killer” said Agent Jones putting Edwin’s mind at ease. The next morning Edwin Storm woke up in his cheap motel room bed feeling on the useless sides of things with a temperature of a 102 and his head felted like someone dropped it on the bottom of the deepest ocean. It hurt both his pride and his throat to call his partner Agent Jones and tell him that he needed a day or two for his body to rest and hopefully kick this sickly bug that’s getting the best of him. Agent Jones wasn’t surprised that Edwin called him this morning sick, It’s has been obvious that Edwin had been under the weather lately. In the whole 20 plus years that the two had worked together Jones couldn’t ever remember Edwin Storm calling in sick, there was something that was satisfying to realizes the man was human after all. After Jones got back to his hotel room he immediately begin writing his report about the Massacre that took place at the parking garage. That part of the report was 12 pages alone covering every little detail he could remember. Soon Jones found himself writing about his questioning of the witnesses at the hospital and Timmy’s part of the report added on 6 more pages. When Jones finished his report on Preacher that barely covered a half a page. Jones questioned how two trained professional like himself and Edwin Storm could mess up a interview so badly and not that any of this was strange enough but not himself or his partner or any other police officer that appeared at the parking garage ask this man that identified himself as Preacher for a driver’s license or any other form of state ID. Agent Jones immediately calls up the hospital and talk’s to a nurse that was working on the floor where there keeping Meg Show and to his joy Timmy and the man called Preacher was still there by Aunt Meg side. Agent Jones decides to quickly play a hunch and takes a drive back to the crime scene of the slayed street gang. There were only three parked cars close enough to hearing range of the gunfire from the parking garage. Jones took no chances and ran the license plate on all three vehicles. The first car looked abandon and Jones wasn’t surprised when the beat up car come back stolen. The second vehicle was a SUV that was registered to a 73 year old woman that ran a dentist office down the street. The third car was parked at the construction site where the street gang member Ryan was murdered on a hanging cross and the car come back belonging to a Preacher Smith. Jones then had the name ran through the FBI’s database that was hooked up to almost all National and state information. Preacher Smith not only returned to the scene of one crime but his information come back that he was once the head pastor of the same church as victim Miss Dean. Jones believed without any doubt that he had found the God’s will killer and it was embarrassing that no one had gotten this far before. Still the evidence could be considered circumstance. Jones figured his best bet would be to follow Preacher Smith to see what other evidence he would lead him too. Agent Jones returns to the hospital parking lot and after making a arrangement with the night nurse he lays in his backseat for some needed sleep. Jones got woke up early by a phone call around 8:30 am in the morning. The morning nurse information him that Preacher was leaving the hospital and the teenage boy Timmy Winters was also leaving with him. Jones followed the two as they flagged down a taxi and took it to the otherside of town. Jones watched on as they switched from the taxi to Preacher’s little compact car at the construction site. Preacher opened the trunk of his compact car and pulled out two objects from the car trunk. Preacher place one that looks like a tranquilizer gun into his coat pocket and hands the other that looks like a stun gun to the teenage boy Timmy. From a distance Jones watched as the two seem to drive all around town check out a number of churches and other types of communities places that gave out food and seem to run soup kitchens that feed the homeless. Jones after several stops comes to the realizes that Preacher Smith and Timmy was looking for somebody and the main question was who and why. Jones ask himself if maybe the God’s will killer and Timmy were looking for the girl that Edwin told him about last night. The one that Edwin believed killed a entire MS-13 street gang and no matter how crazy it sounds if this one girl could do something like that, it would make her dangerous.
