Chapter 27

Chapter 27 Preacher walked into the room the next morning and he seem to have a heavy heart as he slowly paced around the room playing with a lock blade knife that has a 4 inch blade. He kept flipping the blade all the way out then he would press in on the release mechanism so he could pop the blade back in it’s case only to keep repeating this process like it helped him think. Preacher was up most of the night praying to God for an answer of what to do about the FBI Agent but God didn’t give Preacher any answers. He simply couldn’t just let the FBI Agent go because the Agent would just come back with more cops and Preacher knew he couldn’t allow that since all of his holy work was not done yet. Cory woke up in her chair to find Preacher circling around a sleeping Agent Jones with the knife in his hand. “don’t do this” cried out Cory and she begged Preacher to not kill Agent Jones and she also found herself wondering where was Timmy because he wouldn’t just stand idly by and let Preacher take this FBI Agent life without doing something about it. Agent Jones woke up to the ruckus of both Cory and Preacher arguing. Agent Jones found himself to be a little speechless from fear. Preacher mentally blocked out Cory’s words and moved toward Agent Jones. Preacher placed the point of his knife to the FBI Agent’s neck. “I want you to repeat a prayer with me” ordered a confused Preacher to Agent Jones. “and why in the hell would I do that” ask Agent Jones unable to hide the fear in his voice. “so I would have some comfort knowing that I send you to the lord instead of hell” said Preacher. “screw you comfort” said Agent Jones. “as you wish” said Preacher then he pushes the knife all the way into the neck of Jones. Jones opens his mouth to have his cries of pain quickly replaced by bubbles of blood. Preacher believed stabbing the Agent in the neck would have been a quick dead but instead FBI Agent Jones flipped around in the chair fighting with the handcuffs like a fish that just got tossed on the Shore. Cory mentally tried to break the handcuffs off her own wrist the same way she mentally the other day throw Preacher off the third story of the parking garage but her being subjected to holy water the last two days seems to had weaken her. Jason Grey suddenly was now standing in front of Cory and he looked like he was in a much weaker state himself. He informs her that she hasn’t ate or drink anything for almost two days. “so” said Cory not caring about her own well-being as Agent Jones is suffering a horrible death. Preacher looks over at Cory for a split second then quickly turns his attention back to Agent Jones almost like he had second thoughts and now suddenly wanted to help Jones but he doesn’t and Cory found it weird that Preacher didn’t acknowledge Jason Grey presents being in the room. “the lack of nourishment along with dehydration can cause the human body to shrink a tiny bit” said Jason Grey. “get to your point” said Cory to Jason as she still waiting for Preacher to say something about Jason Grey being present in the room. “Preacher has never once readjusted your handcuffs” said Jason Grey. Cory tries with all of her might to pull her wrists and hands free from the handcuffs as Preacher is occupied with watching Agent Jones die. She could feel that there was a little room that she maybe able to squeeze her hands through the cuffs. For a moment she felt like she was going to break her hand but they barely manage to slip through the handcuffs. Cory wished that the last couple of days being hit with the holy water haven’t made her so weak because she suddenly had no problem with the idea of using her new found mental powers to breaking Preacher in half. She tightly balls up her fists in rage as the idea of beating Preacher with her own two hand had becomes an appealing option. Preacher feared now that killing the FBI Agent Jones may have been a bad idea as he now felted an abundance of shame. He looks back at the teenage girl who reduces herself earlier to begging for the FBI Agent’s life. Preacher looks back just in time to see Cory’s fist connecting very hard with his chin and for a moment knocking him unconscious. Cory fantasizes for a second about beating Preacher’s face into a unrecognizable mess of bloody hamburger. Instead she quickly takes her hand and applies pressure on the stab wound to the FBI Agent’s neck trying to stop the bleeding. It seem so hopeless as she could feel his blood slipping through her fingers. Agent Jones looks up at Cory Potts as she so desperately tried to save his life. “run” said Agent Jones barely getting the word out of his mouth seconds before dying. Cory lowers her head for a second to honor and respect the FBI Agent’s memory. She wish that she could do or feel more but she felted empty inside. Cory turned to Preacher to notice he was slowly come back to consciousness. Cory debated with herself about killing Preacher. She quickly weigh the pros and cons. If she killed him she would never have to worry about him coming after her again. Then quickly she is hit with the con, what would Timmy think of her if she killed the man named Preacher. Maybe he would change his mind about her if she show that she could be merciful and love her once more. In the end Cory decided to take the advice from the dead Agent Jones and run. Cory makes her way over to the door, grabbing the door handle. “stop” begged Preacher getting up on his hands and knees. “I can rid you of your demon” Preacher knew the girl still had good in her because she begged for the life of the FBI Agent and she had the opportunity to kill him and didn’t. Cory turns the door handle and opens the door only to find herself looking eye to eye with her boyfriend Timmy standing there holding a vial of holy water in his hands. Cory right away begged Timmy to run away with her only to be hit in the face with the burning holy water. A weak and blinded Cory is quickly tackled by Timmy and Preacher both. They quickly wrestle and restrain her back into the uncomfortable chair. When Cory’s vision returns she finds that this time each of her wrists are very tightly handcuffed to the arm rests of a metal office chair but at least they have left her alone for the time being. The body of Agent Jones had also been removed only leaving a great big puddle of blood where his body once set. Moments later Timmy re-enters the room dragging a mop and a mop bucket full of soapy water. He slowly begins to mop up the blood of Agent Jones off the floor. “what’s happened to you” ask Cory not sure if she believed what she was seeing or was it her own eyes playing tricks on her. This was the boy that gave her the silent treatment for 12 hours after she killed Roy Grey to save his life and now here Timmy was cleaning up a crime scene and becoming preacher’s accomplice. Timmy stopped for a moment and looks over at the girl that he grow up most of his life with and called his best friend, she now looked unrecognizable compared to the wholesome image she once was. Timmy blamed the night Jason Grey attacked her on the sudden change in the way she now dressed and the bigger changes in her Behavior. Not many people even to this day knew that Cory Potts was raped and almost killed by the gas station killer that night. Timmy shifted his focus back to cleaning up the bloody mess on the floor and forget about this evil thing that was impersonating his girlfriend. “look at me” yelled Cory trying to get Timmy to acknowledge her. Timmy ignores her and finishes cleaning up the blood of Agent Jones off the floor. Cory watched Timmy leave the room dragging the bloody mop bucket behind him. Just when she begin to question if Timmy was coming back he stormed back into the room and marched directly in front of her looking like a person on a mission. Cory then notices the strange stream of tears running down Timmy’s face as the two were now alone. “return to me Cory” begged Timmy calling out to his girlfriend with a soft touching voice. “I’m right here” pleaded Cory and for a brief moment she believed that she could get through to her boyfriend. Suddenly Timmy draws back his hand and curls it up into a tight fist. “Lair” yelled Timmy at the top of his lungs taking his fist and punches Cory in the face. Cory felted the first punch strike her in the nose and she tried very hard to bring up her hands to block the strike only to be restrained by the handcuffs, then soon the second blow came blooding her lip and Cory realizes at that point her only opinion with her wrists bounded like this was to take her hands and tightly grip the chains that bind her and try to weather the storm. Soon Cory lost track of how many times her boyfriend Timmy had struck and hit her as the chair she sit in fell’s backwards and comes crashing down onto the floor. Timmy then very painfully plants both of his knees down into Cory’s chest and begins another vicious onslaught of punches. Cory’s whole faces is soon turned into a crimson mask of blood. Cory begin to wonder if she had survived a vicious cycle of bad people in her life only to die at the hands of the person that she loved. Preacher soon steps into the room to find a bloody Cory lying on the floor still handcuffed to the chair as Timmy stood over top of her beating the blonde girl senseless like he had the devil in him. Preacher quickly pulled the teenage boy Timmy off the blonde girl. “the goal is to save her” yelled Preacher in a very angry tone. Preacher is soon forced to makes the teenage boy step out of the room in fear that he wanted to do the same thing to the boy in return. Preacher stands Cory and her chair back up right and study’s the mess that Timmy had made of the girl’s face only to founds himself sick over the boy’s actions even more. “I be right back” said Preacher going after a first aid kit but not feeling must hope for the blonde girl.
