Chapter 11

Chapter 11. Preacher hated traveling through the city this day of the year. Today was the New Jersey pride parade, a celebration the state does ever year for the LGBT community. There wasn’t a street that one could walk down today without seeing gay men kissing or lesbian women rubbing up on each other. Today the city that Preacher desperately wanted to save from itself would parade all of it’s sick perversions like it was a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. Preacher imagine that it had to be sickening for God to look down on this immorality. Watching men dressed like women riding on floats waving around there little flags of the rainbow. A symbol that once was a promise to Noah from God after the great flood to not destroy the earth was now being used as a symbol of blasphemy. Preacher repulsive feelings is quickly replaced by anger as he watches a float go by that represented what uses to be at one time his church. It all started one Sunday long ago when he preached a message about the watchmen on the wall. One of the ministers under him a elder black woman named Miss Dean tried to lecturing him about his message after the service. She said that the congregation didn’t need or want to hear about such things like sin, responsibility, and accountability. Preacher informed Miss Dean that if it’s in the Bible then it will be in his message. Right away Miss Dean took to Facebook and begin attacking him. She called Preacher a racist and a white supremacist, Miss Dean called for the black community to take up arms and attack the white people in the church. The church a few weeks later held a protest at the state capital to show there support for the heartbeat bill to protect unborn children and Miss Dean protest that the church was over stepping it’s bounds and she accused the church of being against women rights. The Sunday service after that Miss Dean disrupted service by picking a fight with Preacher about the church stands on gay marriages. Miss Dean start a civil war within the fellowship and soon the church was being crash under the weight of political correctness till finally the board of directors over the church booted Preacher out of my own church and Miss Dean slither into the head pastor position like a poisonous snake. Miss Dean first service as the head pastor she preached a sermon where she felt bold enough to lecture God what was right and wrong. She preach the following week on how she believed the bible was out dated and offensive. It was the first time in the church’s long history where half the church’s members walk out in the middle of a service. The church begin serving coffee and donuts during services, and sermons become more like a poetry reading. Preacher stared up at Miss Dean as her float drove by in the pride parade. Miss Dean seem very happy to performing the marriages. The gays and lesbians all seem to lined up on her float waiting there turn for Miss Dean to bind them legal standing under a fake cardboard cutout of a rainbow. Preacher suddenly felted a feeling of thankfulness to the Lord as Miss Dean’s face suddenly turns into a large blurry. “Hallelujah” yelled Preacher as on lookers gave him strange stares as they past by. Preacher ask himself if it would be sinful for him to be looking forward to the moment when he got to kill Miss Dean. He guessed that today he would have to pray that the Lord take the joy out of it. Tonight Preacher would rested and make his plans because tomorrow was looking to be a beautiful day.
