Chapter 22 FBI Agent Jones was about to go to bed and call it a night when his cell phone rings and it was Agent Edwin Storm. Jones answered the phone by asking a question. “damn it Storm, don’t you ever sleep” Agent Edwin Storm when into a coughing fit before explaining that he was with David Hovis the police chief at the scene of a Multiple homicides and Agent Storm quickly gave Agent Jones the address. Once Agent Jones shows up at the parking garage it didn’t take him long to spot the very tall and sickly Edwin Storm standing beside an old abandoned van parked inside the first level. Jones very carefully makes his way over to Edwin Storm trying his best not to step on any of the piles of trash that littered the ground in the parking garage. “what are we doing here” ask Jones with a facial expression that was half tired and half disgust. “after our dead gang member the other day I ask the police chief to keep us in the loop of things with the street gang” said Edwin sounding like his cold was getting the better of him. Edwin works his large hands into a pair of latex gloves. Edwin then opens the back van doors to find the dead bodies of three street gang members. Edwin immediately points out that two of the dead had there pants undone and one of these were halfway down to his knees. “I’m going to say these two were lured back here by a female” said Edwin. “with the promises of sex” “your suggesting a female overpowered these two men in a confined space and then dragged in this third victim to the Slaughter” said Jones not sounding very convicted of Edwin’s theory himself. “the promises of sex would give her an upper hand and it would get them to drop there guard for a quick strike” said Edwin. “what do you guess the murder weapon to be” ask Agent Jones. “a hatchet or maybe a small axe” said Edwin and he for a brief moment thinks about the blonde hair Potts girl that butted heads with a family of Psychopaths back in Lynn, New York. But Edwin quickly reminded himself that the New York case was self defense even though him and the town sheriff when through great measures to protect the victim from being investigated. The female that walked into this parking garage was looking for a war with the MS-13 street gang. The two FBI agents move away from the van and investigated the other two dead bodies on this level. “it appears they each we’re surprised attacked” said Edwin after studying both the bodies. “both were killed with a hatchet” “so your female is also a ninja” joked Agent Jones following up with some laughter. “normally your dead on Storm but today it seems your spidey senses are way off” On the second floor it looked like a scene out of a movie. The bodies of street gang members were scattered all over the level. Half the bodies had hack marks from being kill with a hatchet and the rest seemed to of died from gunshot wounds. Bullet holes from a variety of guns filled the walls like they were sprayed on like a can of paint. “damn if it wasn’t for the hatchet wounds on half the bodies I would of guess that they killed each other off” said Jones. “It could easily pass for a gang war if there were bodies of some other gang” “it like are killer was a ghost” said Edwin looking puzzled and confused studying the crime scene. “Female ninja ghost” joked Agent Jones. “or the God’s will killer copycat” said Edwin Storm getting a dirt look from his partner. On the third floor Jones and Edwin spread out and begin to look around. “wow, as if we didn’t need another reason to have a secure boarder wall” said Agent Jones looking down at the dead body of Raoul the MS-13 gang leader. Immediately Agent Edwin comes over to see what could get such a reaction out of his fellow co worker, Edwin right away recognizes the face of Raoul Gomez since it was posted on the bulletin board at work, Raoul is one of the FBI’s most wanted. “is that who I think it is” ask Edwin not believing his eyes and doing a second look to make sure. “you know how long we been looking for this shit bag” said Agent Jones. Edwin felt a little regret about not knowing about Raoul sooner because he would of made a prime target for some vigilante justice at the hands of the Executioner. Edwin found himself realizing that his altar ego the Executioner may of not been able to pull off this kind of feat. Edwin begin to convince himself this was the work of the copycat. “what now” ask Agent Jones pulling Edwin out of his deep thought. Edwin goes on to explain that he was told by the police on the scene that the MS-13 street gang had kidnapped a woman named Meg Show and her teenage nephew and there was also a good citizen who had run onto the scene after hearing the gunfire. “did any of them live through this mess” ask Agent Jones. Edwin answered with just a simple yes. “sounds like we should question them and find out what they seen” said Agent Jones. “there at the hospital” said Edwin and a part of him though about seeing if he could get something there for his cold. Timmy sit there quietly in the hospital room replaying all of tonight’s events over and over again inside his head as Preacher lovingly comforted his Aunt Meg. Preacher seem to have a gentle touch when it come to dealing with the traumatized woman and he even managed to take control of the polices shortly after they show up on the scene at the parking garage. It seem Preacher had everyone eating out of the palm of his hand. A nurse entered the hospital room and gave Aunt Meg a mild sedative to relax her. Preacher seem to wait till Meg fell asleep. “we need to talk about your girlfriend” address Preacher. Timmy felted himself begin to get mad because he already knew what the church pastor wanted to talk about Cory the demon possessed. Everything that Timmy saw tonight unquestionably confirmed what Preacher had said all along that Cory Potts was demonically possessed and Timmy just wanted to bury his head in the sand. He still loved her and desperately wanted to save her but Timmy didn’t want to trust Preacher. “do you truly want to save your girlfriend” ask Preacher like he could sense and feel everything the boy was thinking. “yes” said Timmy but not sounding very trusting toward Preacher. “then pull your head out of your ass and let’s save her” said Preacher. Timmy hated to admit it but Preacher was right they needed to put there differences to the side to save Cory. The demon had shown tonight that it was more than a match for anyone with the way it took out the street gang and the way it choked out Timmy and throw Preacher off the parking garage like a baseball. Next time they might not be so lucky. Suddenly a knocking come from the hospital room door. “we need to be very careful with what we say from now on” said Preacher like he had a inside track on what was about to coming through that door. “come in” said Timmy after getting permission from Preacher. Two men dress in professional type suits stepped through the door. One was a average height black man and the other was a very tall white male. Both men showed there badges as the black man introduces himself as FBI Agent Jones and his partner the tall man as FBI Agent Storm. Preacher greets both men with a smile and a firm hand shake. Edwin pretty much expected a normal day in the life of working for the FBI all the way up till the moment he stepped through that door. Edwin Storm seeing Timmy Winters in that hospital room was the last thing he expected and wanted to see, now Edwin immediately knew the identity of the God’s will killer copycat was no other then Cory Potts. Edwin was thankful that Timmy’s father send Timmy and Cory Potts away before any of them could ever meet him. Agent Edwin Storm suddenly realizes that he must have been giving Timmy some serious attention because both the man called Preacher and his partner Agent Jones seem to notice. After a few uncomfortable seconds of Jones and Storm looking at each other Agent Jones begin questioning Preacher. Agent Edwin Storm didn’t know why he felt so ok with the lack of questions that Jones seem to ask Preacher. The story that Preacher told the two FBI Agents was that he couldn’t sleep so he ended up taking a late night drive that led him to the opposite side of town from where he was staying and he over heard these multiple gunshots. After hearing the gunfire the man called Preacher decided to run toward the gun fight to see if anyone needed medical attention. Later on tonight both FBI Agents would wonder why they didn’t ask Preacher any further questions, like if he saw anything strange or happen to come into contact with the person who killed the street gang. Timmy knew that he had no detective skills but he found himself dumbfounded by the lack of questioning and for the life of him, Timmy didn’t understand how the two Agents could buy into that paper thin story that Preacher gave them. Both FBI Agents seemed very satisfied with Preacher’s answers for the time being so Agent Jones decides to moves on now to questioning Timmy Winters and Edwin suddenly felt himself get nervous. Timmy explain that both him and his Aunt Meg were kidnapped by the street gang and his story was pretty solid and straightforward till he got to the point when the gang members on the third floor started getting killed. At this point Timmy had to back track his story several different times and Agent Jones called Timmy out on a number of discrepancies. Edwin could tell right away that Agent Jones believed what Edwin himself had already knew. That Timmy Winters knew the identity of the person that killed the street gang. Agent Edwin did have to respect the teenage boy because Timmy never once gave up his girlfriend. No matter how badly Agent Jones seem to drilled him.
