Chapter 20

I made it through the day. School was over, and I grabbed my stuff from my locker, and went to find my mother in line to pick me up. She was fifth in line in the line furthest away. I saw her, and proceeded to walk to her car. The line started move, and the car in front of me began rolling forward.

It stopped less than centimeter in front of me. I was nearly ran over. The woman driving mouth "Sorry." I smiled, but gave her a terrified, yet "what the hell," look. My mother saw, and her mouth was gaped open. I rushed to my mother’s car, and got in.

"Oh my god. What a stupid fucking bitch." She asides soon as I got in. My mouth was gaped open. I had never heard such language come from my mouth. Like. Ever. "If she would have hit you. "

"Mom, she didn’t. " I looked at her still in shock from her using such words. I have to tell Alexander this later.

"But she almost did. My sweet precious baby was almost hit. I’d have to beat her to death, then sue till she lived under the bridge. "

"Mom. Oh my god."

"Don’t, oh my god, mom, me. If something ever happened to one of my four boys I... I don’t know what I would do. " She started to choke on her words, and mumble in Chinese.

"It’s okay. Let’s just push the thought away, and go pick the other two dwarves. " I chuckled, hoping she we react the same. She did not. She shot me a death look, and drove very cautiously out of the parking lot. I thought she was going to lecture me. I was prepared for it, but she did not. She just focused on the road to pick up Tobey, and Tai.

That’s the thing about mothers. They lecture, and lecture you because they care about you, then when you do something sassy, you’re prepared for lecture, and you never get one. Sometimes though you might get a smack upside the head. Alexander got the most of those though. He is where I got most of my sassiness from. I looked up to him, and still do.

I texted my brother because I know I would forget.

-Alexander! Mother just cursed when she picked me up today. Holy crap. I am shook. -

I picked that up from Chase. He says shook when anything, big or small, inconveniences him. My brother texted back about a minute later, while we waited to pick up my little brothers. My mother got in the line that was closest to the School. She did not want a repeat of what just happened.

-Yeah, she does that when she is really upset. I mean when she has really blown a fuse. What happened? -

-I was almost ran over walking to the car. - I texted back, and saw Tobey, and waved at him to come and get in. I know he saw me, but he turned away, and started talking to another boy. I rolled down the window, and yelled. "Hey Tobey. C’mon! Get in the car! " All the elementary schoolers heard me, but I did not care at all. Tobey looked at me with the death glare. Like mother like son. Tobey turned red, and quickly got into the car.

"where’s Tai at Tobey? " Mother asked, and looked at him. Tobey just shrugged. "Who was your friend sweetheart." Mother asked.

"Toney."

"Oh, he looks nice. You could invite him over sometime. " She said, and I looked at her like she just said she just took away a bowl of soup from a starving child in a third world country. I did not say anything, I just looked down, and sighed really loud, and shook my head. She heard my sigh, and ruffled my hair. "You okay, kiddo?" She said in a loving tone. I nodded.

We waited another five minutes, and Tai finally showed up. "Finally." I said with a sigh of relief.

"Sorry. I was held up by signing up for soccer, and trying to get into art class for next semester instead of music. " Tai said, getting in the car.

"Oh, you have a choice, now? Mother drove cautiously out of the parking lot. "Alexander did not have choice, and you didn’t either did you Jeong? She glanced over at me, then back at the road.

"Well, I did, and I took drama for a semester, and art the next semester. But I didn’t have a choice as to either. We all had to take a drama, and then an art course. " I said, as I looked at my phone. I had 3 new texts from Chase, and a text from Edward. I looked at the one from Edward.

-Hey, dude, see if you can come spend the night at my house this weekend. - I smiled, and texted back. -yeah, sure. -

"Hey, mom. Can I spend the night with Edward this weekend?" I looked at her, and gave her puppy dog eyes.

"She looked at me when she stopped at a red light." Yes, you may spend the night this weekend."

"Cool, thanks.’ I said, and texted Edward back. -Yeah, I can. -

Edward texted back in a flash.

-Cool. Be ready Friday, and my mom will pick you up.-

-Okay cool. -

I looked at Chase’s texts. -Hey, do you know about anime- Or Kpop?-

I texted back and chuckled lightly. - Yeah, I love Kpop. -

My mother parked the car in the garage and shut the garage door down, and I got out, and walked into the house, and Chase texted me back. -Who’s your favorite band? -

I texted back.- I like BTS, SEVENTEEN, CL, and Hyuna.-

-OMG BTS IS MY EVERYHING!! THEY ARE THE BEST!! I WANT TO SEE THEM LIVE SOMEDAY. I HAV SO MANY SHIPS WITH MY BOYS SUGAKOOKIE 4EVA-

-That’s cool. I want to go to Korea though. I found a Korean language school, but it’s pretty expensive. - I texted him, while I went to my room.

-boi, I have a Korean language that you can borrow. I am on the second book. I’ll give it to you if you want. -

-is it hard to learn? -

-not at all. It took me 3 hours to learn Hangul, and the sounds.  –

-Well, it sounds like a cool thing to learn.-  I texted back, and smiled.
