Chapter twenty-six – The haunting of Dr. Fox, Nightmares about Nelly and the house.

Her stories still haunt me at times. Knowing that there was so much there that she never let anyone know. If she had been able to get help sooner. If only someone would have seen her. Today she lives only in my mind and in my dreams. She is always back in that house of horrors. Always fighting to be rescued. Hiding from the terror lurking around every corner. She never escape and she never is seen or heard. Like a ghost, even in her living years. And to some, she is the crazy girl depicted on the 10 o’clock news. To me, she was the torchured soul who painted and danced through the halls of Sweetwater Manor. She was the girl who never knew what it was like to have a normal childhood. She never knew what it was like to be truly loved or feel like she mattered to anyone. And although it saddens me to know that she is no longer with us, there is some peace I feel for her. It may seem wicked and tragic and even violent to some. But she took her power back. And for that, I am able to take comfort in. She isn’t suffering anymore. She is no longer alone and continuing to play the role of the villain in this story. She slayed her dragons and went out on her own terms.
