We are open to all who wish to support Unpublished and Unknown Authors on Inkshares. Our ultimate goal is to lend our voice to underappreciated and unknown projects that have yet to receive exposure.
Contribute $10 or more per month to the syndicate. Your contribution will be pooled with other members' and allocated by the syndicate lead to one Inkshares book each month. You'll get a copy of the book and be a recurring supporter of our authors! All funds are allocated to our authors - the syndicate will make no money off your contribution.
Sorry guys... I just can’t keep putting money out here when there’s been no activity since last year. Good luck with your writing, all. Thank you so much! :)
I’m still tossing my money here every month...have we still been supporting authors? I have come back to find a dead zone. Well I’m back and reinvigorated! Let’s do this people!!!
We usually do most of our chatting about nominations on our Facebook group, to be honest. There hasn’t been a lot of new blood on Inkshares for a while, so it’s been quiet, but here’s the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/210043489416312/ When the 1st comes around we start a poll and anyone can ’nominate’ by adding a book to the poll for the vote.
The fantasy syndicate uses a classification system, listing books in four categories. I’m new to this syndicate obviously, and don’t want to rock the boat, but maybe a similar system could be useful for keeping track of books that the syndicate is watching? Particularly with so many new authors and books hitting at the moment with the contest.
For clarification, here’s the current fantasy syndicate list. It’s obviously tailored for fantasy whereas this group would tailor for unpublished/unknown authors, but you get the idea:
Category 1: Books clearly making headway – our selection can put them over the edge to win the contest and/or make quill/full funding.
Mutants: Uprising33 pre-orders 78 days left and currently 3rd in the Nerdist contest.
G’day everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the group. I’m very excited about what you guys are doing here; it is incredibly difficult for unknown authors and developers to make a break and they need every bit of help they (we) can get.
Hey. It’s been a while since I last posted on this syndicate. But this will be my last time being here. For two main reasons. 1) Crowdfunding was never my thing to begin with. I decided to have my stories published the old-fashion way. 2) I need to save my money, otherwise, I’ll end up going broke.
I apologize for leaving the syndicate, but it’s been an honor backing some of you up throughout the past few months. And I wish you all the best of luck in having your stories published. Thank you for having me here.
I’m wondering if we have to be limited to books that are funding - could we choose a book that was from a first time author but is already available on Inkshares? Just a thought.
Just wanted to say that I am still alive and here. My twenty every month is adding to the support of some awesome titles. I wish I had a little more free time, but this place is still awesome and I still love it here.
Some bad news...in an attempt to try and slim my monthly budget I have decided to cut out my membership to the syndicate. I feel real bad, but I also haven’t been very active in the community so my ability to properly critique and endorse projects on here is marginal at best. I wish everyone the absolute best of luck in everything that they’re working on. I’m sad to go!
Dear all, this is totally awesome!!! Thank you so much for your great support!!! I hope to get to the target in the next few weeks. Now it seems to be feasible. As soon as I’m there, I will write an update with what I have learned on this journey - what worked for me and what didn’t. I hope you find it useful. Thank you so much again!!!
Any suggestions for books this month? Inkshares is a little slow these days but I was thinking https://www.inkshares.com/books/everything-is-normal-the-life-and-times-of-a-soviet-kid-a33d0d ? As far as I can tell @Sergey Grechishkin is a first time author but I could be wrong.
It’s been a while since I did the last updates on Thaumaturgic. As you can see, the deadline has been extended after seeing how time was running short and the chances of reaching one of the two goals was not even close. So far, there are only 52 days left to pre-order the book, and only 20 out of 250/750 was made. Be sure to pre-order, support, and spread the word about it.
~(˘▾˘~) (~˘▾˘)~ Thank you so much! I’m honoured to be included in these ranks, and I appreciate the support so much. With just over 20 days left in my campaign to reach 750, it looks like I’ll be able to hit my Quill goal. It would be tremendous if I did, and this goes such a long way to helping me get there. Thank you.
Hello everyone! Sorry for my inactivity. The holidays are always so busy for me. I do plan to be apart of this little shindig just as soon as i have some me time haha!
The poll is up for December! Add your pick, or vote for it if it’s already on the list. https://www.facebook.com/groups/210043489416312/permalink/238738006546860/
Wide Open at this point, I am hoping everyone, including myself can have a story in by Jan 1st. The sooner the better for workshopping, editing, and formatting.
I also want to invite everyone to participate in an Anthology I am putting together. Most of you already know about it. I am extending the deadlines for submissions and devoting most of my resources to getting this project done at this time. Check it out and email me if you are interested. Shooting for publication around February.
I am nominating Cayla Keenan’s Catching Stars. This is a book that is about to hit quill and we can be the syndicate to push her over the edge! That is great PR for our group, I say that because I don’t have to speak for Cayla’s work, it speaks for itself, check it out!
I found it. Thank you @Jane-Holly Meissner and @J. Graham-Jones . Having the support of the syndicate would be incredible, and really make a difference (I’m doing whatever I can to find new readers but holy smokes is it tough!) but I understand that there are lots of people in my shoes. No matter how it goes I’m honoured and thrilled to have my book nominated :)
@Donna Fung it’s a well deserved nomination. Your first chapter is amazing. Welcome to the Rite of Passage Syndicate! We have a facebook groupas well, if you’d like to join.
@Jane-Holly Meissner I’m honoured to have you think of me & Where the Sun Sets. Thank you! Also, thank you so much for bringing this Syndicate to my attention :) I continue to be blown away by the community I see here on Inkshares!
I know it’s a little early but I’d like to nominate Where The Sun Sets by @Donna Fung for December. https://www.inkshares.com/books/where-the-sun-sets#
Congratulations to @J. Graham-Jones for being backed by FOUR syndicates this month and reaching Quill right on the dot yesterday. That’s amazing. Your success is well deserved and I’m so happy for you.
Joseph, thank you for sharing your feelings. I could not agree more. We need to be more mindful of our selections. Keep in mind that if we don’t expand the groups network, and only serve our own needs we won’t get very far.
Remember, Try to think of books that have promise. Dont just pick a book because it looks good. Yes, thats sad and all, I wish we could support all the books... But sadly it doesnt work that way. We can only support one book a month, and that should really be a book that has an actual chance at going somewhere. Ive looked at alot of books, and honestly we havent been really branching out all that far. Its only been two months of course, and we have supported two completely different books. They also have two different communities backing them. We need to find books with new communities. Fresh creative eyes. Ones that could help grow not only our group, but also our reach as well. A syndicate can be a powerful thing should we use it properly. So let us look outside our group. Id love to get us all funded, and see us all succeed, but that wont accomplish much if our community stays the same size it is now. Imagine how big our amazing family of authors could get if we supported the community at large. The more we pour into it, the more we shall receive from it.
I’ve created a poll on the FB group. You should be able to add options to the poll, as long as you’re a member of the group. If anyone has any problems adding options, just let me know and I can add them in for you.
Thank you. And just to let everyone know, I have been making updates to my book about Tribes. Be sure to keep an eye out for some if and when you get the chance. Thank you.
Hiya, everyone. New aspiring writer here. As you can see, one of my works Thaumaturgic is currently in its funding, and I’m going to need all the help I can get in order for it to reach its 250 to 750 pre-order goal. Here’s the link to the story, in case if needed- https://www.inkshares.com/books/thaumaturgic
Also, more than willing to support other people’s works here, too.
I wanted to reach out to everyone here about a project that a group that I Admin for called the Indie Author Collective is putting out an anthology of shorts. So far we are a bit light on the submissions, so I thought I’d put out a call to those of you here first before going elsewhere.
The Theme is Deities, Heroes, Magical Creatures, and Monsters (Mythology in a nutshell) in the modern world. So far we have the following:
Joseph Keeler - Hercules in WW2 fighting Nazi’s
Elizabeth Duivenvoorde - The Lochness Monster
Dan Absalonson - The Stiff-Legged Bear
Michael Dellert -
Angela Sanchez - La Llorona in modern-day Los Angeles
Tracy Millosovich - Angels In Search of the Last Human Child
Leeah Taylor -
Michael Baker - The Devourer of Egyptian Mythology in a dystopic U.S.
Jenny Graham Jones -
Kendra Lindemann -
Tahani Nelson - Freyja as a military Helicopter Pilot
Henna Paaso -
Christopher Lee - Anubis as a mortician in London
Still waiting on some ideas from folks but I’d love to have more submissions to this projects. The word count is from 5k=7k. Submissions end December 1st. Workshop in December, and an early 2017 release on Amazon.
Not only will you enjoy being a part of an awesome anthology, but you can leverage the networks of the writers within the IAC. We have over 35 members and are growing! Hope to see some submissions. Just Email me christopher.eichenauer at gmail :)
Hey, everyone! Maybe not the right place for this but I’m saying it anyway-- I MADE QUILL!
I totally get it if The Last Faoii isn’t suitable for this syndicate now that I’ve reached a milestone, but SO MANY people in here have been helping me spread the word that I really just wanted to say thank you to everyone. Even just being nominated last months alongside Tantalus Depths helped my visibility greatly! And, since the voting got kind of messed up last month, a lot of people have contacted me about it asking for more information. I think that helped me reach Quill, too! So there you go-- even things that are soulcrushing at the time can turn into something neat. Just keep fighting! :D
Id like to nominate Earthshard once again. Also I will totally help out with a facebook group! Im literally on facebook 24/7. Let me know what you guys have in mind.
Regina that is a great idea! However, I would have to have someone else take the reigns on that kind of a project. I have my hands and feet full with projects. Any takers to run a facebook group/page?
Have any syndicates done something like a FB group or page for promotion? One of the issues I have is I don’t get on Inkshares as often as I might want to because I have to log in all the time from my phone. If we could chat or recruit on FB that might help. (Also it wouldn’t hurt the visibility of our books and campaigns as well)
Alright Everyone! No Rest for the WickeD! We need to start the nomination process for November. This time, I am going to shake things up. I think we should have FIVE nominations. For a nomination to be considered it should be vetted. If you wish to nominate a project, post it here. Once that project has been vetted, or at least two people have said it should be included I will add it to the list. We will go with Five Nominations this month. So send in your nominations! Also let me know if you have questions. This is still a very young syndicate, and we are still finding the best process, so if you have ideas let me know via DM.
Alright everyone, the pick is in! Congrats to @Evan Graham for being chosen for the October 2016 pick. I want to give a shout out to our runner up @Tahani Nelson who came in a very close second. I wish we could pick two, but alas it is only one. Let’s make sure to throw our weight behind both of them as they are both so close to reaching their goals!
10 of us voted on Goodreads, but some people were repeatedly changing their votes, which I’d imagine made it hard for @Christopher Lee to know who to actually pick for the syndicate.
Alright, just so I can confirm votes before hitting the select button. I would like it if everyone would Direct Message me Personally with their selection. PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR VOTE HERE! PLEASE DIRECT MESSAGE ME. Thank You!
I’ve heard about the Good reads Polling. I’ll look into it. I’ll also try to organize the voting asap. But we don’t pick until the 15th so we have time.
Can we do the voting this month as a poll? It doesn’t need to be anonymous - some other syndicates have Goodreads groups where they put their monthly polls. Something we could think about?
Regina, thanks for the suggestion. I have added it to the nomination list. I have already got my copy of Tantalus Depths. It is a highly touted piece of work, I recommend it to everyone!
I’d like us to consider Tantalus Depths by Evan Graham for this month’s selection. Evan is working so hard toward full funding against some awful odds. He hasn’t given up even though he easily could since he’s well past Quill. His determination in his campaign is admirable. :)
Also I love the idea of tweeting and recommending the books we support. Our support as a community should go beyond preorders. Reviews and promotion help us all.
I am also going to suggest that in order to add value to our group. If you have the time, please, if you have not already give an Inkshares Recommend for Fae Child, share on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
I would like to suggest we do that with each nominee as well. What do you guys think? Recommendations and Reviews are a powerful tool here on Inkshares.
I apologize for being out of the loop as well. @Christopher Lee "The Axiom" is my baby, but like Kim, I’ve been focusing more on the writing aspect than the crowdfunding. Not that I don’t wholeheartedly appreciate the support, but perhaps our resources could be better allocated. That being said, I wouldn’t be opposed to having the sticker put on my page ;)
Has anyone taken a look at "A Beast Requires" by Jay Lockwood? I highly enjoyed it myself.
Hey RP Members! Good to see everyone alive and kicking. Looks like we need to start gathering nominations for the October Pick. I see the following so far :
The Shadow Bearers by Rebecca Clark and Jayme Beddingfield
Witherfist by J. Graham Jones
The Last Faoii by Tahani Nelson
Apex by Debra Munro
Axiom by whom?
I would like to nominate The Hunter Saga by H.A. Paaso
Let’s make sure to include some projects outside of our group as well! We don’t want to be seen as playing favorites etc.
I am glad to see that we have grown so much in only a month’s time. WE are the Sixth Largest Syndicate now on Inkshares! WOOT! Great work everyone!
Let us also make sure to support and send out the word on Fae Child. We supported it with some financial gusto, now let’s send out the word some more! If the picks we choose don’t make it, what good are we doing? Let’s work!
Great to see everyone thriving. I also want to beg for forgiveness for being M.I.A. as of late. Life often gets in the way of great pursuits, but I am back!
I have definitely seen more than just one video from G&S regarding the contest. They’re sponsoring it, not running it, and it’s not their job to hold my hand through the process of taking part in it. They’ve created the biggest influx of new authors/entrants to Inkshares through their FantasticInk contest just by drawing attention to it, and I wouldn’t have found it without G&S.
Anyway, I don’t think this is the right place for complaining about Geek & Sundry.
I have definitely learned a lot since starting this campaign, and all of it from other authors and community members. At least we’re all learning together!
Ive been following them for well over three years. There is VERY little audience interaction. Its not that they dont care, its that they dont have the time. They have a gigantic audience and if they tried to engage with them all the time, theyd get nothing done. I love them for the content they produce, but when it comes to hosting a community driven event, you think theyd at least take more notice to it. I havent seen ANYTHING from ANYONE about this contest since that tiny two minute video (most of their videos last hours) so its distressing to say the least.
I don’t think its fair to say they don’t care about their audience. They lead me to find this site and they are only a sponsor for the contest its not mandatory to be fans of them.
On the note of Earthshard, I’m all for that book too.
I extended my campaign because I have more faith in myself but honestly the way I found out about this contest was pretty shitty. Geek and Sundry has done these contests before, and they are a MASSIVE gaming company. They stream 24/7 and they have several huge budget shows that go up on youtube. The way I found out about it was through a short 2 minute video of one of their gamers explaining the BARE minimum information about the contest. They could be helping out their audience more if they actually, I don’t know, maybe cared? I’m really glad I met the people that I did, because you all have been a huge support and I’ve learned alot! But ultimately, it’s a huge let down to get so far and have no chance of getting into the contest. How many of the top authors are actual fans of Geek & Sundry? Probably two or three. Its just really sad they do not want to acknowledge the fact there is this huge community on this site. Nothing I can do though. Sorry for rambling! I did have a Nominee, and I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did.
I’m with you guys too I think the contests tend to do that but, now that I’ve found this place I’m here to stay haha. Its also been a great learning experience and the support of this site is super inspiring.
I was going to nominate Witherfist but since that is done I have two others so we have some other views. 1. The Last Faoii love @Tahani Nelson world and she has so much there.
2. Also really enjoyed Devils in the Valley this month. Her magic system of talismans and getting stronger through teamwork is really cool.
Yeah, I jumped in both feet first too, didn’t realize how difficult this was going to be.
I want to also nominate Witherfist as well, by our very own @J. Graham-Jones - great world building and excellent premise. She’s already doing good work with her crowdfunding and some recognition from a syndicate would only help.
You guys aren’t alone-- I feel exactly the same way. But inkshares is cool like that-- we can help other newbies figure that out BEFORE they jump in feet-first. lol!
Wow do I relate to that, Leelyn! I wish I would have taken so much more time to build a following before I started my campaign. I feel like I’ve been working from behind this entire time.
On a side note...mannnnnn, I wish I had realized how this worked before I jumped right into a campaign.
Not realizing just how important it is to network and build connections before you begin selling the book I think cost me a bit. I think I want to ride this campaign out and build it up the right way the next go around.
Welcome! Glad to have you on board! We have already decided to back our lovely Jane-Holly’s Fae Child for the month of September. Im so glad you joined :D
The Syndicate bills on the 1st to make sure the funds are available to disperse to the chosen project on the 15th. This is what I have been told from Inkshares.
This is actually a good point, when does inkshares bill people for syndicate backing? Because I need to know so I know when I will need to make a deposit.
THANK YOU! I am really excited about this - thank you all. This is amazing. :D And thank you to @Kim Whale for making it possible - even though she had a well deserved win.
I know I’m biased in this particular case, but in general I don’t have a problem with giving our backing to the runner up if the first choice declines.
I have received correspondence from @Kim Whale about our support of The City Will Fall it is as follows:
Hello, my new friends,
After a great deal of careful consideration and correspondence with established authors, I have decided not to try and win the Geek and Sundry competition. I will instead be focusing my time and energy on completing my novel, The City Will Fall. As such, I will no longer be putting much time or energy into crowd-funding going forward.
I still cannot say how much you all have fortified my confidence that I can be published. And I will not be leaving Inkshares, nor is this me giving up. However, in light of this, I am forced to decline your offer of support, as I cannot in good faith say that I will earn it in the months to come.
Instead, you should all put your support fully behind Fae Child! I know Jane-Holly can go the distance with your kind help, and I know you all love her work just as much as mine. And perhaps when I do resubmit The City Will Fall, you can support me then!
Be proud of the community you are building here. We all need to believe in our own work and in each other to weave our dreams from words.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart,
Kim Whale
This leaves us with a decision to make. I have assured Kim that we will be taking a look at her project in the future, especially when she is ready to proceed.
I put it to the group do we proceed with Fae Child, per the votes already cast as well as Kim’s blessing?
@Kim Whale Can’t wait to look more in depth at The City Will Fall! I’ll give you a rec and review sometime this week and some social media love! Just gotta find a blank moment! Cheers and Congrats!
Overall I want to avoid public voting as I have seen it be influenced heavily by popularity. That should not be our aim. The point of our grouping here was to bring to light projects that otherwise have not seen the light of day, because of said popularity contests. That is my only concern. I have seen it happen before, but as we are on a time crunch and everyone is itching to vote. Why not cast your votes publicly and I will tally them.
Either way works for me. You won’t find me arguing with anyone over their choice. Most of us have already said who they’re supporting anyway. But I can also see how the anonymity would be a good thing. Whatever the consensus is works for me :D
I could go either way on public v private voting. Perhaps since most of us have already declared one way or the other, we just do a public vote this time and debate the merits of a private vote afterward?
I suppose so. Most of the syndicate did already publicly declare a vote however, so I’m not sure how likely an argument is? I’d personally prefer a public vote, but I’ll go with the majority of the syndicate either way.
Well anonymous voting is not unheard of. I dont mind either way, but really its better if we want to avoid arguements. Cant argue if people dont know who you voted for. Not to say there would be arguements, were all pretty chill. But its just a precaution. Better safe than sorry right?
Is anonymous voting necessary? The other syndicates I’ve joined have just voted publicly in their discussion comments. I’m not sure how it helps us to have integrity by being anonymous, honestly.
Seeing as today is the 28th I will give it one more day for nominations! Then I will create a poll for everyone to vote anonymously. I think this is important, anonymity helps maintain the integrity of our syndicate and its mission. Once we have those votes, I will announce the pick to the author, and we can all begin to throw our voices behind the pick. What do you all think of that? As always open to suggestions!
I had no real understanding of the community involvement at this site when I first joined. Since I have met a few of you, I want you guys to be published just as much, if not more so, than myself! Just feels good to be part of something bigger.
Good point, @Jane-Holly Meissner - it may be worth stating that clearly in the description of the syndicate, so that members are clear on the types of books that they should be suggesting for the syndicates attention.
My understanding was that we would be supporting authors who have not been published before.
I believe this is a syndicate to support unpublished/first time authors, not just FOR them. I think it’s an important distinction to make. :) Anyone is welcome to join.
Thanks for that @Joseph Keeler - and hello @Leelyn Colclasure - it’s nice to see familiar names and faces here. Definitely feels like we are building up a canny little community!
Also welcome leelyn! This is a group of fresh start authors. We dont mind you talking about basically anything youd like! Im sure more activity can only help the syndicate as a whole.
ah i can actually clear that up, syndicates run on a monthly basis. Each month we nominate who we think is a good pick, then everyone votes until weve picked one. Then the lead picks that person for backing and the money is collected and sent to the authors book page on the 15th of that month. Orders only go through on the 15th of every month. The orders go through all at once.
I know this is mainly to promoted an author’s book, but I find I stay focused better when I have an outlet of peeps that not only understand my plight, but relate as well.
So howdy, outlet!
Also, I have since read "Fae Child" and agree upon its greatness.
Oh, wow - thank you for nominating my little book! I’m honored to be thought of. I would second the nomination of "The City Will Fall" - Kim Whale has done great work with it. :)
Glad to see everyone be so active. I’m going to cast my vote for Kim Whale’s "The City Will Fall". The story is great and she deserves to be recognized. No offense of course to Fae Child. I just figured I would switch it up a bit :)
Another thing to keep in mind, its great that we wanna help undiscovered authors, but we also should be picking authors that have a likelihood of succeeding.
Picking an author that isnt 10000% devoted to the process of getting published, will not succeed. So us backing them wont really accomplish much. I nominated Fae Child because Jane is a devoted author who has next to no following. Yes, shes apart of our syndicate, but I havent seen many others that would fit the bill.
However, I will also start making lists of people I think are in need of some exposure.
Kim Whale: "The City Will Fall" Krystopher Bryson: "Tooth and Nail" Audrey T. Carroll: "Devils in the Valley" Michael J. Palumbo: "The Soul Decision" H.A. Paaso: "The Hunter Saga"
Those are the ones I’ve looked into, in depth. They all deserve some support, but I understand if we go for Fae Child.
Looks like Fae Child has a great lead! Let us make sure to include others in the nomination and voting process. One major pitfall of Syndicates is selecting only the works of authors in that circle, or friends of that circle.
Let’s just keep that in the back of our mind. I too enjoy Fae Child, but I can’t stress enough how important it is going to be to stick to a process so that we can maximize our influence and help the underappreciated and unpublished authors out there.
Fae Child as of now is the only nominations, please stretch your minds and see if we can’t at least nominate a few more before casting votes. This part of the process can be a boon to an author who otherwise felt like no one was paying attention to their work. Example : Once someone is nominated we inform them, that kind of news can have a great impact. Sure they may not ultimately be selected, but still if that happened to me I’d feel like I have progressed. We make some fun out of selection process! Sort of like a mini contest, etc.
Just some thoughts, It looks as though Fae Child may be where we are headed anyways, but to be honest, I want to make sure we are level, fair, and honest. That is the pitfall of many syndicates out there.
Joseph, thanks for the recommendation. Fae Child is an awesome project, perhaps we should add it as our first nomination. I would like to see us consider a number of projects and then vote on them. So I will add Fae Child to the list of projects we are eye balling!
Secondly, I would like to invite everyone in the Syndicate to join a group I have formed externally from Inkshares.com. It is called the Indie Authors Collective. We are a group of Indie Authors who have banded together to give each other a larger audience and voice. So far we have about 30 in the group. We have a catalog of our works, a working Blog, we are going to be producing a YouTube Channel, and an Anthology. If you feel interested in joining us fill out the contact form so I can add you to the group email list. Also if you have questions ask away.
So ive been keeping an eye out for good books that need support and Ive found quite a few, but Id like to cast my vote for our very own Jane-Holly’s Fae Child. Its a beautifully written story with lots of fantastic imagery. I think it would be a great pick for our inaugural book backing!
I messaged a bunch of people to join, it might help spread the word if you guys do the same! https://www.inkshares.com/syndicates/historical-fantasy thats the link to our lovely little syndicate :D
Mutants: Uprising 33 pre-orders 78 days left and currently 3rd in the Nerdist contest.
Kanimbla 94 pre-orders 74 days left
Category 2: Books that are (hopefully) gaining momentum – our support can possibly be the boost they need to really get rolling.
Nothing in this category so far this month!
Category 3: Books that seem to be stuck (generally belong to authors who unfortunately think funding is still a time to focus on writing).
Worlds Walker 30 pre-orders 71 days left, The Builder’s Spark 4 pre-order 12 days left
Category 4: Drafts that caught my eye (or the eye of anyone else in the syndicate!), that could be choices once they start (re)funding.
The Cradle and the Sword, The Elements: Descension, In the Shadow of the Rook, Wake up Call, The Dead Wizard
Thoughts?
1) Crowdfunding was never my thing to begin with. I decided to have my stories published the old-fashion way.
2) I need to save my money, otherwise, I’ll end up going broke.
I apologize for leaving the syndicate, but it’s been an honor backing some of you up throughout the past few months. And I wish you all the best of luck in having your stories published. Thank you for having me here.
- Merlin Patrick O’Toole
It’s been a while since I did the last updates on Thaumaturgic. As you can see, the deadline has been extended after seeing how time was running short and the chances of reaching one of the two goals was not even close. So far, there are only 52 days left to pre-order the book, and only 20 out of 250/750 was made. Be sure to pre-order, support, and spread the word about it.
- Merlin Patrick O’Toole
Dont just pick a book because it looks good.
Yes, thats sad and all, I wish we could support all the books... But sadly it doesnt work that way. We can only support one book a month, and that should really be a book that has an actual chance at going somewhere. Ive looked at alot of books, and honestly we havent been really branching out all that far. Its only been two months of course, and we have supported two completely different books. They also have two different communities backing them. We need to find books with new communities. Fresh creative eyes. Ones that could help grow not only our group, but also our reach as well. The more we pour into it, the more we shall receive from it.

Also I will totally help out with a facebook group! Im literally on facebook 24/7.
Let me know what you guys have in mind.
Also I’m all for that facebook Idea as well.
The Shadow Bearers by Rebecca Clark and Jayme Beddingfield.
On the note of Earthshard, I’m all for that book too.
"Earthshard" By Eli Plaskett very good book so far! Lots of magic and that makes me very happy.
Because I need to know so I know when I will need to make a deposit.
Cheers!
Christopher Lee
I was wondering what the process would be for a tie breaker. :)
I could go either way on public v private voting. Perhaps since most of us have already declared one way or the other, we just do a public vote this time and debate the merits of a private vote afterward?
I like the new wording. I think it appropriately describes what we’re here for and trying to accomplish. :) Thanks for the updated lingo!
Also thats really nice of you leelyn! its nice to be wanted :)
Each month we nominate who we think is a good pick, then everyone votes until weve picked one.
Then the lead picks that person for backing and the money is collected and sent to the authors book page on the 15th of that month. Orders only go through on the 15th of every month. The orders go through all at once.
Kim Whale: "The City Will Fall"
Krystopher Bryson: "Tooth and Nail"
Audrey T. Carroll: "Devils in the Valley"
Michael J. Palumbo: "The Soul Decision"
H.A. Paaso: "The Hunter Saga"
Those are the ones I’ve looked into, in depth. They all deserve some support, but I understand if we go for Fae Child.
Its a beautifully written story with lots of fantastic imagery. I think it would be a great pick for our inaugural book backing!

Welcome new people. Huzzah? :)
