The Seven Ravens

00:12:13 :: 00:13:01

My seven brothers,
they wanted so much
to be of good cheer,
lend a helping hand;
but Father’s curse is
misunderstanding
and they flew away.

Just give me the blame
and I’ll make the quest
and I’ll set them free,
whatever it takes;
a ring’s remembrance,
some bread and water,
this chair; all I need.

The star did guide me
to seek Glass Mountain
with a chicken bone
to serve as a key.
When I reached the gate,
my key was missing;
so, off went my thumb.

Just give me the blame
and I’ll make the quest
and I’ll set them free,
whatever it takes;
what is one finger
when nine more I have
to do as I need?

The dwarf at the door
called each brother “Lord"
and said I could wait
until they came home;
a bite from each plate,
a sip from each cup,
my ring in the last.

Just give me the blame
and I’ll make the quest
and I’ll set them free,
whatever it takes;
a bite from each plate,
a sip from each cup,
my ring in the last.

My seven brothers
came home to supper
and noticed each bite
and noticed each sip;
my seventh brother,
his cup held my ring,
his knowledge cured all.
