There’s the Sun

Feeling down, I came outside for a brief reprieve from my spinning mind.

I saw the sun today. It was beautiful.

I shut my eyes, and listened to the sound of the waves crashing ashore.

It’s been a long while, but good memories seem to always stay fresh.

I missed this cool spray and its prickling greeting;

I missed the melodious bird songs and warm sand between my toes;

I miss you.

No trip to the beach is complete without us sitting together, watching as the day goes away.

I saw the sun today. It was beautiful.
