Red

Red

I will rage for you.

I will rage until the Earth is still.

There is no stop in me, I do not yield.

Anger is mute, undignified in its petulance.

I am the raver at the heart of being.

I grow where others fear to breed.

How dare you suggest I am anything other than defiance epitomized.

I bring no pain, for I am its end result.

You may depend on me to live,

I do not reciprocate such fragility.

My ways are of blood and power;

of fire and consumption;

the ways of the internal against what comes from without.

Take refuge in me if you want,

be warned, I slow down for none.

If you are able, however,

you will find that I can be anything you need.

Not armor,

not love,

not safety.

I do not care for you,

you have shown no concern for me.

In that, find resolution.

II

Hatred has no place in me;

Refine yourself in the bright burn I give,

the warmth I deliver.

Peace has no place in me;

Come delve into the dangerous places I keep.

Close your eyes, I will lull you to sleep.

I am a heart in love;

I grow where others fear to breed.

See me and see yourself, alive and finite.

Know that I am here for you,

in all of your anguish and bluster.

Rage is my only sin;

it betrays my essence for a cheap high.

Know me as I am.

See nothing of yourself in me,

as you hide from the aura of imperfection.
