Matthew Isaac Sobin liked an update for How to Remember

Hello, everyone! This has been a fabulous week. Thank you all for your enthusiastic support. I went from 188 copies on Monday to nearly 250 today. I am confident we are going to sell those last two books today!

Don’t forget to join me on Facebook for my Day of Reckoning event - the last day of the campaign, February 9. 7pm EST. https://www.facebook.com/events/1033802110094056/

I’ll be doing random giveaways all night, including copies of the book. I’ll give updates on where we’re going next, too. Finally, I’m giving $1/copy sold from Feb 1 - Feb 9 to Babywearing International of Akron Youngstown, so I’ll announce that total. I just realized it’s right before the opening ceremony for the Olympics, so we’ll probably wrap up a little early so everyone can watch that.

I am so excited to bring you this book!!

Hi, readers! First, thanks to everyone who is new on the list. I am in the home stretch of this campaign, but I plan to thank everyone personally as soon as it’s over and I’m able to recover.

A few news items: I’m doing live updates every day on my Facebook page: facebook.com/caridubielauthor - They’re really short, no more than 5 minutes so far, and sometimes include guest appearances from cute children. I’m also doing a Final Day of Reckoning event on there, February 9 at 7pm. We didn’t make the Amazon gift card this week, but I promise I will have lots of giveaways and fun for my supporters that night.

I was SO excited to be on Jungle Red Writers yesterday! This is a great blog full of talented mystery writers - both the bloggers and the readers - and fabulous fans. Check it out and give it a follow! Also, my podcast with Beth is back, although I’m still messing with the feeds, so you might have to go directly to Soundcloud to listen.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful day! 67 copies to go with just under two weeks! Please tell everyone you know, and if you feel so inclined, write me a recommendation on Inkshares. Here’s the link again.

Matthew Isaac Sobin liked an update for Crow’s Gambit

      Hello supporters of Crow’s Gambit!

      Pre-Order now if you haven’t

We have passed the 200 mark and are within sight of the finish line. First, a big thank you to the GREAT SCIFI for the 21st CENTURY and BEYOND SYNDICATE which backed Crow’s Gambit this month.

What else has been going on you ask?

      • I’m using the AutoCrit package to slowly work through the draft and correct the more egregious aspects.
      • The story for the second book continues to be drafted. This is requiring a few "hooks" to be adjusted in Crow’s Gambit.
      • Once I have a little more time I plan to start laying out more timeline details of the events before Crow’s Gambit (i.e. worldbuilding).

We still have to get across that finish line though. If you haven’t made a Pre-Order yet now is the time when it would really help. If you know someone who might like the book, or maybe someone who just owes you $10, why not ask them to pick up a copy?

Push Crow’s Gambit over the finish line with a Pre-Order!

As always than you for your support.

Matthew Isaac Sobin liked an update for After Death

          To all my patient supporters,

          Happy New Year!

Over the past several months many of you have reached out to me, or stopped me in passing, to ask about the status of my novel AFTER DEATH. One or two even thought perhaps it had already come out, and that they’d somehow missed it.

An update is long overdue, and today is a good day to write one.

Back in October, the very kind Avalon Radys, director of marketing and publishing operations for my publisher Inkshares, let me know that my book wouldn’t be entering developmental editing until 2018, as their priority had to be books with Spring release dates.

A bit of a bummer, sure, but it made perfect sense to me, and provided me with the opportunity to do a twelfth draft of the novel, with the goal of further tightening the story and reducing the word count as much as possible.

That new draft is now complete and has been sent to Inkshares. So now, my friends, we wait.

Hopefully I’ll be paired with an editor soon, but even then it’s worth keeping in mind that it may still be a while before you are holding a copy of the book in your hands. After developmental editing there will still be copy editing, cover design, book design, and a slew of other steps I don’t even know about, I’m sure. The publishing process, I’m learning, is very slow.

In the meantime, there are a number of ways you can get a fix to tide you over:

          1) visit the AFTER DEATH page on the Inkshares website here, where you can watch the updated book trailer, read sample chapters, leave a comment or review, pre-order copies, and recommend the novel to others. You can also sneak a peek at my new novel in progress, KING OF FIRE.

          2) listen to the first chapter of AFTER DEATH, as read by actress Jessica Rothert, here (Vimeo) or here (YouTube). While you’re at it, check out the AFTER DEATH YouTube playlist I’ve begun assembling here, which features not only the trailer and first chapter, but also other related videos that hint at the ideas explored in the book.

          3) visit and "Like" the AFTER DEATH Facebook page here, where you can stay updated on news, as well as the latest promotional material.

          4) follow me on Twitter and Instagram. See photos of my cats.

          5) check out more of my work at Dan-Lee.net, including my short story The Equestrian, which is available for a buck on Amazon.

          6) check out and support the work of other talented Inkshares authors, among them Katherine Forrister, Matthew Isaac Sobin, Christopher Huang, J. Danielle Dorn, Tal Klein, J-F Dubeau, Kyle Cowan, Jacqui Castle, Evan Graham, Brian Fitzpatrick, Eric Heisner, and Erin Evan, who has written perhaps my most anticipated book of the coming year, The Pirates of Montana.

Thank you all so much for your continued patience and support. This book has been my biggest creative project for nearly nine years, and it’s humbling and thrilling to know that so many people are excited to read it.

I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as things progress. And, as always, it means the world to me anytime you recommend AFTER DEATH to anyone and help spread the word.

Thanks again! You are all amazing!

Hi, readers!! Many of you on the list are new, and I’m so happy to see you here! Thanks for supporting my book and helping this thing happen. I think we can get to 250 by the 9th.

I still need about 5 copies a day to get there. This week has been a great one - I’ve sold at least 5 every day, with some days even more! So I’m getting ready to do another push. If we get to 200 by next Saturday, I’ll give away a $50 Amazon gift card to a reader chosen randomly from the list of pre-orders. Of course, if you buy more copies, you get more chances... ;-)

I am still very bad at this selling thing, so any advice would be helpful. I love advice. Bring it on.

I hope you all have a great week! I had a rough one yesterday - I was hacked... it’s a long story. But the kids are at my parents’ house, and I’m hopeful for a quiet and calm day of writing and promo!

Please keep sharing! Personal messages work best-- I would be so grateful if you would send an email to 5 or 6 friends.

Matthew Isaac Sobin liked an update for A Gentleman’s Murder

                Dear friends and followers,

Things continue apace, and I think we’re on track for publication before summer. It’s a lot more work than I bargained for! The big news, though, is that we’re changing the title of the book. The story will now be published as "A Gentleman’s Murder". Well, if a gentlemen’s club, then of course a gentleman’s murder, right? And one has to admit it rolls off the tongue more easily.

It does mean I’m going to need a new header for these news bulletins....

The other big news is that we’ve also got a new cover!

It’s not quite final yet, I’m told, but I gather that this is a pretty good taste of what’s in store.

And now, I had better get back to those edits. Before somebody murders me....

I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am without the experience I had working with Inkshares on Sunshine is Forever. I have had both negative and positive experiences with the company, but I know their editorial process really improved my writing and taught me a ton. I want to thank Inkshares and all of you for supporting me with this book. You helped elevate me to the next level.

I’ve been querying to get a writing agent for 7 years. Well, I can finally announce that I have officially accepted representation with Jennifer Soloway at Andrea Brown Lit. I am thrilled! Here’s to a long and prosperous writing career!
