"Hello, this is Laurie Flynn with the Arizona Police who am I speaking with? I’m looking for Patrolman Harnjyk."
"This is he, and I’m sorry the files weren’t what you expected."
"It’s a report of 17 abandoned zonk cars. All leading back to the same fucking person how hard could it possibly be to catch 1 fucking Mexican?!"
"I believe that is a question for your border patrol. Should I get them on the line in a 3-way call so you can ask? I can call the office in Phonix if you’d like."
"What I asked for was records of the 17 names I gave you that all worked at the bar."
"Oh my God that bar is amazing! Three other officers and I brought our wives and husband. The waitress asked us politely to put our guns in the car. We declined to show our badges instead. She got the manager and he asked us the same adding that he would call the police if we did not comply. We showed him our badges as well. To which he replied ’Keep those on the table and I will allow it don’t want people flipping out. And if anything goes down judicious aim is greatly appreciated.’ Things were a little expensive but not horribly expensive.
When the waiter came he brought us our appetizers and drinks while on fire doing fucking cartwheels! Then he rips off his shirt with another one underneath and jammed it in a bucket of water I didn’t notice. The whole place was professional and up to code, the whole thing was an incredible experience. Food, drink, and appetizers for 8 people was about $300 after the 15% discount they were willing to give us for being law enforcement and then we have our group of waiters (we had 3) $150 to split. That place is a cop hang out now!
They take our badges and run them to see when we just get a free meal. We love it. We have nothing to say bad about them. I even talked to Paul Patel while having a cigarette."
"Isn’t he on the list that I gave you?"
"Yes, he is. He is loving life right now. He says this job is like one big family. The family he never had and they chose him, he didn’t choose them. Just kinda like one day he was in one life and the next he was waking up into a new life entirely lost and scared, but that everyone was so welcoming. He makes $8 an hour a night in cash as his take home. Then everyone splits tips and on Mondays, everyone gets paid split tips for everyone that’s why everyone is willing to help and almost nothing is off limits to help entertain. They even just installed a set up for karaoke in one corner taking out three tables and now Tuesday is a karaoke night I’m thinking ab-.
"Ok is this a review of what is the best bar anyone can ever imagine ever? Or are you going to get to what I called to hear?"
"Ok fine. We ran all the names and socials came up with drivers’ licenses. Ran the faces on the drivers’ licenses."
"And?"
"We ran them through the national database. Came up with just over 6 million hits."
"That has to be wrong."
"It is. I don’t know how, though. Our IT department had no idea why it does that with the 18 names."
"Why did you say 18 I only gave you 17."
"Ignacio Peter Fernandez"
"How many?"
"60 million for him alone"
"Well check it again!"
"Look most people are completely off the grid when they run from the police, this guy is the opposite. He is the fucking grid. Really disciplined he doesn’t burn the identities he manipulates the system, twists the grid into his own fucking plaything. If he’s this flexible and continues to be able to do this he will be impossible to find, it will take years if you continue being as brutal as you are. I personally would burn out before that.
He is smart on so many levels, greed may have caused him to create this organization, but he realized that giving feels better causing loyalty like family. We are looking for a sociopath between the ages of 30 and 45 who appears normal to those around him. Not struggling financially and mixes well in his economic background which is completely unknown. Face it, Ms. Flynn, we have nothing on this guy. We know identities are being created instead of stolen, we know four cars are being stolen at a time and at his bar the waitstaff, food, service, and experience is incredible.
You might need to take a step back from this case or lack of one we have no idea. We have real crimes to investigate I have three murders that you are taking time from that just happened last night, three muggings and I’m assisting in finding the identity of a bank robber. Have a good day Ms. Flynn."
"What the fuck!" I punch a hole in the wall when he hangs up on me.
My mom shouts at me as I dust off my hand and suck some of the blood from my knuckles, "Laurie!"
"I need to take a fucking walk!" someone is near me with files and I knock them out of his hands as he’s walking down the aisle, "Fuck you Jason!" and I keep walking.
