I believe it has been enough time. I find Laurie on Facebook and add her. She immediately messages me back.

"Who are you? How did you find me?"

"Hi. You don’t know me but I couldn’t help but say hi. I am talking to Bekka on plenty of fish. Looked her up on facebook and saw you in her friends. Decided to say Hi."

"Ok, I’m mad. Ur lying to me. Cut the shit Gamma."

"How?"

"I figured out your fucking code about a year and a half ago. I’m still trying to figure you out, as a person!"

"Well, here I am. How can I help prove myself to you? What would you like to know"

"Idek I have so much going through my mind."

"Would Skype work?"

"Yeah, it would probably help."

We exchange information and the camera comes up and I’m with my mom in her chair getting chemo. "Hey, Laurie can you hear and see me?"

"Yes, I can. Who’s that with you?"

"This is my mom. Mom this is Laurie I told you about her."

My mom speaks, "oh that’s the woman who briefed you on that whole organization you were forced to work for and gave you the evidence to take them down."

Laurie perks up faking a smile, "Yeah, that’s me, I’m a friend of your son."

"Oh, the last few years has been very rough on him. He has a late ex-girlfriend because of their attempt on his life. He tells such great stories that’s one of his better stories."

"So what else is up with that your son and I are just now getting back in touch after years apart. He speaks highly of you but did mention that you have a temper. Don’t yell at him, he doesn’t like confrontation, that’s the fastest way. Correction, the only way to lose him. Oh, they tried to say that he was this huge kingpin named Gamma or Alpha I forget which maybe both, I couldn’t keep track. He faced Rico charges and a jury of his peers proved him innocent of 135 counts against him. Dan told me that the Judge awarded him money for winning his Rico case. And he is using all his money to pay for my chemotherapy well that and he paid cash for his college which he’s almost done with."

"He sounds so sweet. Is that where you are now? Why would I yell at him, he is wonderful, I have no reason to yell at him."

"We had a rough patch in his teens as any parent would expect but he turned out to be wonderful. And yes he goes with me every session twice a week, he takes care of me at home when he is not in college he is so smart he is getting a degree in engineering he will make so much money. I’m so proud of him. Oh, Dan, you should tell her the story of you and Liz."

I say, "I think she might get jealous."

My mom responds to me, "Oh did you two have a fling?"

"Something like that."

My mom responds, "Well maybe you two can get together and you can get rid of that wench of a girlfriend you have now. I can’t stand that Sara."

Laurie says, "Hey, Dan can I get your number? Take me off Skype."

I give her my number and she immediately calls.

"Hey, Laurie what’s up."

"Get somewhere private."

"Hey, mom. I’m going to go to the car for privacy do you need anything?"

"Can you hand me three cookies?"

"Of course mom." I turn his attention back to Laurie shortly. "Why do I need privacy?"

"We gotta talk."
