Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for After Death

      To all my patient supporters,

      Happy New Year!

Over the past several months many of you have reached out to me, or stopped me in passing, to ask about the status of my novel AFTER DEATH. One or two even thought perhaps it had already come out, and that they’d somehow missed it.

An update is long overdue, and today is a good day to write one.

Back in October, the very kind Avalon Radys, director of marketing and publishing operations for my publisher Inkshares, let me know that my book wouldn’t be entering developmental editing until 2018, as their priority had to be books with Spring release dates.

A bit of a bummer, sure, but it made perfect sense to me, and provided me with the opportunity to do a twelfth draft of the novel, with the goal of further tightening the story and reducing the word count as much as possible.

That new draft is now complete and has been sent to Inkshares. So now, my friends, we wait.

Hopefully I’ll be paired with an editor soon, but even then it’s worth keeping in mind that it may still be a while before you are holding a copy of the book in your hands. After developmental editing there will still be copy editing, cover design, book design, and a slew of other steps I don’t even know about, I’m sure. The publishing process, I’m learning, is very slow.

In the meantime, there are a number of ways you can get a fix to tide you over:

      1) visit the AFTER DEATH page on the Inkshares website here, where you can watch the updated book trailer, read sample chapters, leave a comment or review, pre-order copies, and recommend the novel to others. You can also sneak a peek at my new novel in progress, KING OF FIRE.

      2) listen to the first chapter of AFTER DEATH, as read by actress Jessica Rothert, here (Vimeo) or here (YouTube). While you’re at it, check out the AFTER DEATH YouTube playlist I’ve begun assembling here, which features not only the trailer and first chapter, but also other related videos that hint at the ideas explored in the book.

      3) visit and "Like" the AFTER DEATH Facebook page here, where you can stay updated on news, as well as the latest promotional material.

      4) follow me on Twitter and Instagram. See photos of my cats.

      5) check out more of my work at Dan-Lee.net, including my short story The Equestrian, which is available for a buck on Amazon.

      6) check out and support the work of other talented Inkshares authors, among them Katherine Forrister, Matthew Isaac Sobin, Christopher Huang, J. Danielle Dorn, Tal Klein, J-F Dubeau, Kyle Cowan, Jacqui Castle, Evan Graham, Brian Fitzpatrick, Eric Heisner, and Erin Evan, who has written perhaps my most anticipated book of the coming year, The Pirates of Montana.

Thank you all so much for your continued patience and support. This book has been my biggest creative project for nearly nine years, and it’s humbling and thrilling to know that so many people are excited to read it.

I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as things progress. And, as always, it means the world to me anytime you recommend AFTER DEATH to anyone and help spread the word.

Thanks again! You are all amazing!

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for Wings of the Pirate

        Hello Air Pirates!

Things are moving right along for "Wings of the Pirate".  So far we are on schedule for a May 29th release with all ebooks and hardcover preorders going out several weeks before that.  My good pal, Clint Beach at Attic Studio Productions has just completed a new updated cover and it has an even more exciting image than the previous one.  Thank you to Ryan Pemberton at Pemberton & Sons Aviation for the use of the photo of their gorgeously restored Grumman Goose seaplane.  Check out the "Wings of the Pirate" book page on Inkshares and we are also up on Amazon.

Cheers to finally getting this book on the path to publication!

        Sincerely,

        Eric H. Heisner

          Greetings wonderful followers,

I have some news. I have contracted Mickey Mikkelson with Creative Edge as my publicist. He will help me build a strong writer platform and get the word out about Beyond the Code. He’s already booked me to be a guest on the awesome writers video podcast, Spilling Ink, on Feb 17/18. Look out for it.

With any luck, we’ll have plenty more events to announce in the future. I’ll keep you informed the best I can.

Also, I’m being told that the email address confirmations have been going out to my wonderful readers. So if you have moved in the recent future, make sure to input your correct address. And don’t forget that once you have read Beyond the Code, make sure to give it a review. Reader reviews are a first time authors best friend.

Thank you all for following me this far. It’s been a long road but pub day is fast approaching.

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for The Traveler’s Cup

            GREETINGS SPACE GENTS,

Okay, it’s been a bit, but I wanted to have some really freaking great news for you before I put any wish-washy pseudo-updates out. So here goes.

We are IN PRODUCTION. Full stop. We’ve blasted out of our old star system into the new, and the destination is in view. Do you know what that means?

First it means I have a whole lot of work to do, but this is some fast-tracked, scheduled, definitive (as can be) work. And it also means I have a...how do you say...release date?!

Okay, no question mark. I have a release date. And because I have a release date, you too are going to get it! Now, this is my first time doing the whole pro-publishing gig, so I don’t want to say that it’s 100% certain, but I have a pretty official-looking timeline, and it looks like the book will be releasing on...

            dundundun...

That’s right; this thing is slotted for May Day! It’ll be in your hands before you know it.

(Also, author’s note: I’m PUMPED about this release date coincidence, because as many of you know, this book is all about that class war (and also space).)

I hope this news finds you well, and in the meantime I’m working with Inkshares’ editing and production staff to make the book solid, as well as getting together the packages I owe many of you from the campaign.

Thanks for your support and patience along this magnificent space quest.

            Your spaztastic Space Captain,
            -AC

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for A Gentleman’s Murder

              Dear friends and followers,

Things continue apace, and I think we’re on track for publication before summer. It’s a lot more work than I bargained for! The big news, though, is that we’re changing the title of the book. The story will now be published as "A Gentleman’s Murder". Well, if a gentlemen’s club, then of course a gentleman’s murder, right? And one has to admit it rolls off the tongue more easily.

It does mean I’m going to need a new header for these news bulletins....

The other big news is that we’ve also got a new cover!

It’s not quite final yet, I’m told, but I gather that this is a pretty good taste of what’s in store.

And now, I had better get back to those edits. Before somebody murders me....

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for Sunshine is Forever

Today is a great day, thanks to you, and Inkshares.

I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am without the experience I had working with Inkshares on Sunshine is Forever. I have had both negative and positive experiences with the company, but I know their editorial process really improved my writing and taught me a ton. I want to thank Inkshares and all of you for supporting me with this book. You helped elevate me to the next level.

I’ve been querying to get a writing agent for 7 years. Well, I can finally announce that I have officially accepted representation with Jennifer Soloway at Andrea Brown Lit. I am thrilled! Here’s to a long and prosperous writing career!

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for Maxine Starr: Last Vanguard of the Zodiac

                  Hi Readers,

Thank you so much supporting my novel Maxine Starr: Last Vanguard of the Zodiac. I appreciate everyone that liked, shared, and especially those that preordered a copy - some even bought the expensive paperbacks. Really - it meant the world to me that you followed and read my work. Although we didn’t reach our goal of 250/750 preorders, and the campaign is now over, I’m actually very happy with the response. You’ve inspired me.

I believe life is all about taking hits, learning and getting back up. So this isn’t the end of the book but rather a minor detour. I still believe in Maxine Starr’s adventures, and your support means that I’ll work on the book even harder to make it even better.

And don’t worry - for anyone that knows me, I’m not easily discouraged :) I’m actually excited to get moving again on the novel, and more books in the Maxine Starr series (yes, I have 3 more planned)

Right now, I’m considering other traditional, e-book, and self-published formats. I also have some other plans in the works. Just wanted to let you know that once it’s done, I’ll be offering buyers a reduced price for your early support. THANK YOU!  The book will be released - that’s my promise. For now, your money will be returned to you in a few days.

I’ll be keeping this site up for a while longer. Feel free to give me feedback, ask questions or even contribute ideas.

Do you have an idea for a book?

Would you like the read the whole of Maxine Starr and give feedback?

Want an insight into the process of the writing, story and character designs?

Is there any way I can help you achieve your dream too?

I’m all for creating communities, and although this one is small, I appreciate all of your input. So thank you! This is not the end of Maxine Starr, the Zodiac Universe, or even her dog, Woof. I believe our dreams, like the cosmos itself, has no visible boundaries. And more importantly, you can’t let a single failure distract you from a coming triumph. Because, as Maxine discovers in the book, the impossible is often just one move away.

Thank you for believing in Maxine Starr.

                  Cheers,

                  Kane W.Holder
