Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen! was selected as the book of the month by the Snarky Darksy Syndicate. This was an amazing surprise. I had no idea your humble drag queen had been nominated. I want to thank all the members of the syndicate for choosing my book. Your support means the world to me.
On other important news, the inspiration behind Bad Medicine, Alaska Thunderfuck, was crowned last night RuPaul Drag Race All Star winner. As a huge Alaska fan, I am double happy. I was rooting for her from the beginning.
(from the left my husband Tom, Alaska, my friend Koleen and I)
That is all for today. As always, thank you for your support. We have only two weeks left in the contest and Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen is still in second place. That is good news, but I have to keep pushing. The contest is not over until is over and there are many other deserving books that could kick me out of the top 3.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Just a quick update to announce the winner of this week.
But first, let’s talk about the campaign. Thanks to your support Bad Medicine is still holding second place in the contest with 107 readers. That is great news but no reason to relax. Contests are unpredictable until the last minute, and you may or may not know that I lost a Nerdist contest by 1 book, I repeat 1 book!!
So I still need your support. Please pre-order, share the love, ask your family and friends to get a copy of this funny and scary book.
And now the big news.
The queen joining the colorful cast of Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen is Miss Booby Von Trapp (AKA Liz Trond)
Booby Von Trapp is a comedy queen with a huge social media following of which she is annoyingly proud!
Have a great weekend
"We are all born naked, the rest is drag"
Hello drag enthusiasts
It is Friday and time to announce a new queen joining the cast of Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen!
But first! I want to share with you my interview with WNPR. I was featured as part of a new series of immigrant stories, where I talked about coming to the U.S. my struggles as an immigrant and the story behind my first novel The Catcher’s Trap. If you want to learn more about yours truly, click the link below.
And now what you’ve been waiting for, the winner of this week is… Ivy Drip (aka Miss Julie Freddino).
Ivy Drip is a queen with a mysterious past who is trying to re-invent herself as a Bette Midler impersonator. Miss Drip will bring lots of fun and shady business to this story.
That is it for this week. If you have not ordered yet, please consider supporting this crazy and fabulous idea. I can assure you that Bad Medicine will be a fun and terrifying ride; you won’t regret supporting it.
If you already pre-ordered your copy, thank you very much and please feel free to spread the word.
The world of horror needs more glitter and needs more high heels
Have a fierce weekend!
Hello queens, friends, supporters, stalkers and curious people.
Today is one of those rare Friday nights when I actually have plans, so I’m announcing the winner early!
The next queen joining the cast of Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen! is Miss Peaches Putnam (AKA Holly Masi)
Peaches Putnam is a shoe obsessed queen, known in the drag community for her Cirque Soleil-style performances.
Remember you can win too. Pre-order, send me your drag name and you can be a character in the book.
Also, I have new concept art. This time from French comic artist, Pier Caltafer. The way he imagined Bad Medicine is very Jinx Monsoon look alike. I’m also loving the post-apocalyptic New York City.
Seeing my book through the eyes of so many diverse artists gives me life!
Finally, I will be posting the second chapter this weekend. It is a meaty one and full of surprises. I hope you like it.
Quick update just to announce this week’s winner.
The newest queen joining the cast of Bad Medicine is Miss Slayer Stone (AKA fantasy author extraordinaire Jamison Stone)
Slayer Stone is the alter ego of Mr. Mayhem, a wrestling superstar who has done drag on the down-low for almost a decade.
Let’s congratulate our winner and remember that you can have a storyline in the book too. Pre-order now and send me your drag name via e-mail or Twitter.
Have a great weekend!
Friends and drag enthusiasts
Funding campaigns are a lot like Jennifer Aniston’s career. Somedays people are raving and can’t get enough of you, and some others they roll their eyes and wonder why you just don’t quit. Same as Jennifer Aniston I’m not a quitter. Also, I have great hair and often have to explain to people that I’m not pregnant just bloated; but I digress.
The point is the last two weeks have been like Friends. I have enjoyed your encouragement and support and dreamed of the possibility of an undeserved Emmy. We still have many weeks to go, though, and I know that The Breakup times are yet to come.
There are many exciting things happening to make the eye-rolling days as short as possible. First, don’t forget about the chance of becoming a character in the book. If you already pre-ordered, send me your drag queen name. Every Friday I will randomly choose a name to join Bad Medicine’s cast of queens.
Also, we have great concept art coming our way. This is the first draft from Moises May.
Lastly, but super important, I have received messages from some very enthusiastic readers who want me to post more chapters. I hear you my pretties and I will. As soon as we hit 100 readers, the second chapter will go up. If there is anything I can say about the second chapter is that it is full of surprises.
That’s it for today. Tomorrow I’ll send a quick update with the winner’s name
Have a great day
The day has come for you to lip-sync FOR YOUR LIFE!
Just kidding. Today is the first drawing for a chance to become a character in the zombie/drag queen saga Bad Medicine: Slay It Queen!
But before we announce the winner I want to share a couple of things.
First, I’m working with several artists developing illustrations for Bad Medicine. I’m giving them little direction because I want to see what they come up with. This is the first one by the talented comic artist Bartolomeo Argentino.
His, interpretation is very Tina Turner meets Rainbow Brite and I love it! I love seeing how different people imagine my characters.
Also, Bad Medicine got a couple of shout-outs. Geek.com and Jenny Graham Jones gave some love to our drag heroin.
Here is what Jenny had to say “Talking about taking a tired genre and turning it into something fresh and new."
Read the stories here: geek.com, JennyGrahamJones.com
Finally, the winner:
Red Redwine!! (AKA Miss Christine Brennecke)
Red Redwine is a classy queen from Philadelphia visiting New York for a classic Hollywood convention. Red gets caught in the mayhem of this poorly timed zombie apocalypse while getting ready to perform a Bette Midler tribute.
You’ll learn more about her in future chapters.
Pre-order today, send me your drag-name, and you may be a winner next week.
Have great weekend friends!
