Greetings everyone!
2017 is beginning to draw to a close, and so I thought I’d take a chance to reflect on Space Cat and the year it has had.
Space Cat began as a NaNoWriMo project and turned into a full draft novel. This year has been the year of editing, and it’s been moving at an erratic pace to be brutally honest with myself! The first half I got a LOT of editing done, but since my big house move, I’ve not given myself the time to fully edit another draft. Life seems to have gotten in the way...
As it stands, Space Cat is currently at 64,839 words, amounting to 116 A4 pages, with the first 5,000 words available to preview on Inkshares. The preview dips it’s toe into the story, with so much more happening later on that I’m dying to show you all but a) it’s not ready, and b) I want to share Space Cat into a the world in a proper format, be that e-book or physical copy! And that’s my next great challange. Where to put Space Cat?
Do I eventually try and take Space Cat to an agent or publisher? Do I go the full self publish route? Or do I give Inkshares funding a go? The problem with trying to get your novel somewhere is the uncertainty, and the unknown, and that, quite possibly, is one of the scariest parts of this journey. However, I will, soon I hope, find the courage to choose a director for Space Cat and begin a new journey with it.
Let’s see what 2018 brings!!
Best Wishes,
Sammy
Greetings everyone!
Greetings everyone!
Space Cat has had a slow month, but don’t worry! I’ll be back on top before you know it.
In the mean time, I’ve come across the most wonderful Kickstarter, in aid of remembering the world’s first and only real life space cat, Félicette!
We need to remember that without these unwilling participants in the space programs of the world, we would not be where we are today! And these wonderful animals should be remembered for the ultimate scarifies they have made for the world.
Luckily, animals are no longer sent to space for such purposes as little Félicette was, but are now transported and returned safely to and from the ISS.
Please visit the Kicstarter page to learn more about Félicette and her importance to space travel.

Next time you are reading Space Cat, or looking up to the stars, spare a thought for those brave furry astronauts that helped pave the way to the future.
Best Wishes,
Sammy
Greetings fellow space and cat fans!
It’s been a busy month for me, but not do with writing sadly. I’ve been doing to major house DIY, so I’ve not managed to give Space Cat the love and attention it deserves.
However, I have been thinking about Space Cat’s platform, and have lately considered if Ink Shares is the best place to throw it out into the world! I’ve had wonderful support so far, but there will come a time when I will want even more exposure for my silly little novel.
But first, I am planning to write up a few short stories in order to get a few smaller pieces out into the public eye. These may appear on Amazon via self publishing or other similar places, but I will be sure to keep everyone posted.
In the long run, I want the best for Space Cat and I feel like I need to test the waters out and about.
Thanks for all your continued support, and continue looking at the stars!
Best wishes,
Sammy.
