Immortal Love

Chapter 15

Flying over the oceans can be boring if you’re only going about 700 miles per hour, but doing it three times that speed made the water so beautiful. I got back home in about twenty minutes. I landed on the roof and then teleported inside to my apartment. I went to my desk and grabbed a piece of paper. I wrote down the ingredients for the spell.

Finding the materials might be just as tricky as getting the spell in the first place. I would need a finger bone of an extinct creature; preferably a mammal. I would need water from the Dead Sea, sand from a desert, leaves from an ancient tree and an undying fire. I would also need air from the bottom of an oceanic trench and a metal that is strong but yielding. The hard ones will be the air and the finger bone.  How they were able to do this in ancient times boggles the mind.

When I figured out the best course of action to finding those ingredients, I called Jason to meet me later that day.

“What are we doing later today?”

“I’m going to perform the spell, but first I need to acquire the materials. It’s a little tricky.”

“How is it tricky?”

I listed the ingredients to him and there was silence on his end. “Now do you see what I’m talking about? Only two of them will be a challenge. I might have to steal the finger bone from a museum.”

“Well, do what you need to do.”

“Are you serious? I never thought I would hear you say something like that.”

“I am very serious. I love you and want to be with you forever. If you have to steal a little trinket from a museum that won’t be missed anyway, so be it. I just want you.”

“I love you so much.”

“And I love you more, now go and make me immortal.”

I hung up the phone and went to work on gathering the components.

I took care of the easy ones first. I teleported to the Sahara Desert and gathered some sand. I put it in a jar and sent it back home. I went to China for the metal. It was in an old mountain outside of Hong Kong. I sent it back as well. For the leaves, I went to Sweden. The oldest living spruce tree was there. It was nearly 10,000 years old. I took a few of the leaves. I was careful not to leave any damage. I didn’t want to be the reason this ancient tree died. Though, it wasn’t like I couldn’t bring it back. After I sent the leaves home, I ported to the Dead Sea and collected some water. For the undying fire, I went to the closest national park I could find. I gathered some firewood and lit them with my magic. I lifted the fire off of the ground and then froze the fire in time. It now looked like a still life of someone’s attempt at drawing a fire. Instead of sending that one to my apartment, I sent it to a subspace I created. I didn’t want to accidently burn down my place.

I knew where I could get the finger bone so I saved that for last. I instead headed for the Mariana Trench. I flew there and when I was above it, I dove in. Now that was a long dive and I’m not an experienced diver; either as James or anyone else I had ever been. Not that it really mattered. It’s not like I needed to breathe. I was making about 50 miles per hour, or since I was in water, about 43 knots. I was at the bottom of the trench in a few minutes. Now all I had to do was find an underwater cave. That was the only way I was going to be able to find underwater air. It doesn’t get much more literal than that.  Of course, like the fire, I probably could have just created it, but this was more fun.

I searched for an hour without much luck. I was about to go back to the surface when I found a hole about three feet across. I decided to try it out. I swam towards it and went through it. It took a few minutes but I came to an opening on the other side. I could see faint light above me so I went towards it. I broke the surface of the water and looked around. The light source was some sort of phosphorescent glow. It was beautiful. The cave was immense. It was the size of two football fields. I had wondered how something like this had gone undiscovered and then realized that this wasn’t exactly easy to find, nor was it easy to get to. A human would never be able to survive that much pressure.

I conjured a jar from thin air and captured the air around me. That left only one ingredient. I was about to teleport out of the cave when I looked at something white on the ground by the water’s edge. It was a little buried whatever it was. I got a little closer and had a good long look. The object looked a little like it was bone. I telekinetically lifted the object from the ground. It was bone after all, but it was almost completely fossilized. Considering the age of this cave, it could have been an animal from a few million years ago. It could have died around the time this area was still above water. I studied it for a few minutes and realized that it was an ancient reptilian. I would have preferred a mammal bone, but this way I wouldn’t have to rob a museum somewhere. This bone would be perfect. I just took the whole skeleton with me when I teleported home. How convenient was that? It seemed that luck was on my side, or Janus put it there. Though, I don’t think he would try to influence things that much; or would he?

At any rate, I had all of the components to make the spell work really well. I called up Jason and told him to meet me at my place at 6 that night. That would give me time to prepare the potion. I felt like one of the girls from my favorite witch show. They were always writing spells and mixing potions to fight demons. It’s obvious it was a show however. Demons were nothing like that; no matter how powerful the witch was, she couldn’t take on a real demon. Of course, that’s how it was in my dimension. Maybe in other worlds demons weren’t as powerful, or so big like they were in mine.

At 5:45 that evening, Jason knocked on my door. I let him in and gave him a big and wet kiss.

“What was that for?”

“I just wanted to give you a big kiss. Aren’t I allowed to kiss my fiancé?”

He pulled me in closer and gave me a deep kiss. “Of course you’re allowed to kiss me. You can do more than that if you want,” he said with a sinister grin.

I pulled away from him and gave him a playful slap. “We can’t do that right now Jason. After you’re an immortal we can have all of the sex you want to.”

“Are you performing the spell here?”

“No, I am taking you to the redwood national park up north. I thought it would be best to be around ancient trees to boost the power. Are you ready to go?”

“Yeah, I’m ready to go my love.” He grabbed me and gave me another kiss and then slapped my ass.

“You are too much, you know that? Now, don’t let go. We are going to teleport there.”

I had us teleported to the Redwood National Park in Northern California. We landed in the middle of a copse of dense trees to do the ritual. I took out the potion and put it on the ground. I pulled out a copy of the spell I got from the library. It was time to begin the ritual. I conjured lit candles and set them in a circle around Jason and myself. “Jason, stand in the center of this circle.”

“Do you want me right here?” He had made it to just a little shy of the center.

“Move a little to your left.” He moved over a bit. “Yes, that’s the spot. Okay now, are completely sure about this? There is no going back when it is done.”

“Yes James, I’m sure.”

“Ok then, we shall begin.” I handed Jason some of the potion. “Drink this.”

He drank it and handed the cup back to me. He began to gag and he hunched over coughing violently. That meant it had started to work. Now I had to start the incantation. I hadn’t used this language in ages. Hopefully I could still get the pronunciation right. Caeliclan was a bitch to say. Here goes nothing. “Aeptepu m’ioralit iavtra. Edo viosal rorem’uli deptus caedconus laedabe. Hodar aeturnal, arda luactan conafe. Altore lu ulteni, sunori, Aquila sojlem’, tabnale sodnas autine. Ogari rorem’uli atwuque valcunir copful, doeve sodnas senaru audorita. Edo colluneac lu duun Janus. Edo puis ibrana.”  I then slapped my hands together and that was where the fun began.

The candle flames leaped up and stretched as tall as Jason was. A storm was gathering overhead and lightning struck the ground at Jason’s feet. The lightning strike caused the ground to stir and rise in a kind of funnel that surrounded Jason. The wind was blowing strongly in this area but didn’t enter the circle of fire. That area had its own wind that was increasing in strength. Light began to pour from Jason’s mouth and eyes and it intensified to a blinding whiteness. The light shined bright for a second and then suddenly went out. The wind immediately died down and the flames resumed their normal height. The storm overhead moved pass our location and Jason slumped to the ground. He stirred and I ran over to him. “Jason…..Jason, can you hear me? Are you all right?”

“Huh?”

“Are you all right Jason?”

“Yes, I’m….all right. Wow, that was intense!”

“Are you sure that you’re all right? You seemed like you were in a lot of pain. I didn’t think there would be so much.”

“There wasn’t a lot of pain, but there was still some. It was mostly uncomfortable. It was like how you feel when you wake up and realized you had been sleeping on your arm; that pins and needles feeling.”

“I hate it when that happens. How do you feel? Do you feel any different?”

“Now that you mention it, I do feel a little different. It sort of feels like electricity is running through me now.”

I smiled at his analogy. “That would be the energy you are feeling. I equate it to being hooked up to a generator the size of the Hoover Dam. It’s not unlimited energy, but it certainly is a lot of energy. Do you want to take it for a test run?”

“But, I don’t know how to do anything.”

I walked over to him and tapped his forehead. “You should know how to do it. It is all stored in your brain. That’s what the potion was for; to bind the power to your body and brain. Here’s an easy one. Try to float.”

Jason closed his eyes and tried to concentrate. “Okay, I’m concentrating but nothing is happening.”

“Why don’t you try looking down?”

Jason opened his eyes and looked down. He gasped when he realized that he was way up in the air. “How the hell did I get up here?”

I floated up next to him and said, “You are here because you concentrated. Now conjure a fire ball. Here….like this.” I opened my left hand and a ball of fire the size of a grapefruit materialized. “All right, now you try it, and keep your eyes open this time. I don’t want you to concentrate so hard that you accidently burn down the whole forest,” I joked.

“That’s not very funny.”

“I know; that’s why I’m not laughing. You shot up ten feet into the air with little to no effort. You don’t have to try so hard with this. All of the knowledge of the universe is engrained into your very being. Now…try to conjure a fireball.”

Jason kept his eyes open this time and looked at his right hand. At first there was only a spark. It was kind of like a pilot light being lit. All of a sudden, there was a small explosion in his hand and a fireball the size of a beach ball was floating in his hand. “I did it!! Hold on; how do I put it out?”

“All you have to do is will it away.”

Jason looked at it and the fire flared up and then out of existence. “This is going to be so cool!”

“Yes, it certainly will be.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After an hour or so of teaching him control, I called it a night and we flew home together. Well actually, he flew; I just glided along beside him. I didn’t want to use my wings just in case someone saw us. I figured I could explain away the flying but not that I was an angel. Of course, the angel thing might be more believable in this day and age than the whole magic thing.

We got home only a couple of hours after leaving. Jason decided to spend the night at my place. You can imagine what happened next. There really were no words to describe how amazing the sex was now. I think I remembered us floating while we were doing it, and I lost count of how many times we both had orgasms. I think the number was somewhere in the vicinity of 110, but I could no longer keep a coherent thought so I didn’t really know. We started having sex at about 9pm and didn’t stop until about 6am.

“Wow, that was amazing! Is sex going to be like that from now on?” Jason asked.

“Well, maybe not for nine hours but yeah; the sex can always be like that.”

Jason looked over at the bed side clock and said, “Shit, I’m late!”

“How are you late when it’s only 6:15? I thought you didn’t start until 7 today.”

“I do start at 7, but traffic is going to be a nightmare. How am I going to make it home to change and get back on the road to get to the set? I didn’t even sleep last night. I’m going to be so tired all day.”

I ran my fingers through his hair to calm him down. That trick always worked. He grabbed my hand and gave it a kiss. “Answer me this….are you tired at all?”

He thought about it for a second and then said, “No, not even a little bit. After the workout you gave me last night I should be exhausted.”

“First off, it was you who gave me the work out. Secondly, you’re not tired because you no longer require sleep. I mean, you may want to recharge your batteries every other thousand years or so, but sleep is not necessary for people like us. Thirdly, you won’t have to worry about traffic. You can now teleport to the studio so you will be there before everybody else.”

“Oh yeah, you’re right; but what about my car? Won’t people ask me how I got there if my car isn’t in the lot?”

“You would teleport your car there too. All you have to do is pop on home, change your clothes and when you get in the car, start to drive out of the driveway. After that….well, you know what to do from there.”

Jason mulled it over in his head for a few minutes. I could tell that he was enjoying himself because he had this devilish grin on his face. He always looked so cute when he did. I always got into so much trouble whenever I saw that grin. “Okay then; I’ll do it. One question though; how do I teleport something as huge as a car?”

“That really shouldn’t be a problem. Physics no longer applies to you. The car’s weight won’t be a factor to your mind. It has limitless potential. I don’t know how strong the spell made you, but you could probably lift it one-handed like Superman. If it helps you, once the car is in motion, the added energy will make it lighter for you to make the teleportation easier.”

It looked like he made up his mind and with that, he kissed me goodbye and teleported home…naked. I was a little sad to see that cute ass disappear, but I had a day to get ready for myself. I was recording the last song of the album. At the rate I had been going, the album would be done and ready to ship by the next month or maybe even by May. That was going to be months ahead of schedule. I was sure the producers would be thrilled with that news. It would save them so much money.

I decided to get ready the old-fashioned way. First I made my bed and then I brushed my teeth and finally took a shower. After the shower, I got dressed and as I was getting ready I received a phone call from Jason. He accidently put the car through a wall, so I teleported to where he was. “Um, when you said through a wall I expected the wall to be destroyed. I really wasn’t expecting it to be still in the wall like it was some sort of art installation.”

“I told you I wasn’t ready to do this yet. What am I going to do? Everyone will be here any minute.”

I went over to Jason and I tried to calm him down. “Don’t panic Jason; this is an easy fix. Just watch.” I waved my hand at the car and it disappeared from the wall and reappeared in a parking spot. Just then, someone pulled into the parking lot. Had they arrived a second earlier, we would have been busted. I guessed God was watching out for us; literally.

“Thank you so much James. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t have shown up.”

“What are future husbands for; but I think we will have to have more training sessions. We don’t want anything like this happening again.”

Jason shrugged his shoulders and said, “What else could possibly happen? I think this was the worst of it.”

How wrong he was.
