Hi friends,

It’s been way too long since my last update and I sincerely apologize for that. Well, life got in the way and so it’s taking me longer to finish the draft. My ultimate goal is to finish by October and so bear with me folks!

Thank you for staying with me and supporting this project. I am looking forward to bringing Maggie’s dragon-filled journey into your hands.

Hello faithful readers!!

I know it has been wayyy too long since my last update but please be rest assured that I am working hard to finish writing AYSYWTQ? My oldest guinea pig Arya recently had a cystotomy (to remove a bladder stone) and as you can imagine that whole ordeal has been stressful for my boyfriend and I. Arya is recovering very well, although she hates being wrapped in a burrito when it’s medicine time >;;;.>;;;

As of right now I am setting a deadline of end of March for myself to have a draft ready for editing (yay!). The Nerdist video game contest was definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done and so in a way I had a recovery period like Arya. I am back feeling rejuvinated and ready to hammer out the rest of Maggie’s story and I hope ya’ll are ready for more dragon-filled pages :D

Thank you all for being supportive, patient, and kind on this journey with me I sincerely appreciate all the love. Please don’t hesitate to contact me through email or Facebook if you have any questions or concerns I am always here.

Oh, and I’ll leave you with a shameful plug for a Facebook page I admin called Relentless Empire....a nerdy, geeky page led by myself and 7 other lovely gamer girls so check it out and give us a like on Facebook if you wish!! :)

Have a great rest of the week!!! Catch all those Pokemon ;)

I really like your new cover!

Hello everybody!!

Sorry it’s been a while since my last update, but the Fall 2016 semester has kicked into gear and my schedule is all over the place. Currently I am TA’ing an intro Molecular and Cellular Biology course here on campus and that’s been sucking up a lot of my precious time. Fear not! I plan to hammer away at AYSYWTQ? in the upcoming weeks as I don’t want to keep you all waiting to find out if Maggie is successful in her campaign to defeat Amasarok :)

As you may or may not have noticed I have a brand, new flashy cover (yay!!!). The talented and lovely Kaytalin Platt, author of The Living God, has done a tremendous job patiently working with me and bringing to life a cover that encapsulates everything about my gamer girl story. If you haven’t yet check out her book! She’s currently in 6th place in the Geek & Sundry Fantasy Contest!

That’s it for now! Thanks for continuing to follow my story and for all your support :)

P.S. Anyone else loving the new buddy update for Pokemon Go? I want alllll the candies!!!

Best,
Alisa

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the long absence (I’ve been busy getting ready to move and all that) but I’m back with great news! First off, you may or may not have noticed that my project Are You Sure You Want to Quit?  is officially a member of the Quill collection (YAY!), which means you’ll all be getting a copy! If you haven’t yet, order a copy now (do it) :) I decided to end the campaign early and join Quill, which means the production phase will be commencing! I’ll be working my tail off till I finish that manuscript because I know some of you are dying to find out what happens next :) Once I know the timeline I’ll be sure to keep ya’ll updated on my progress.

Lastly, I want to individually thank specific people who’ve helped me along the way, especially during that intense Nerdist contest. I want to thank my fellow lady author friends Amanda Orneck, Elayna Mae Darcy, A.C. Weston, Kendra Namednil, Regina McMenomy, Jaye Milius, and C. Brennecke for being so kind to me as a newbie to the Inkshares community and encouraging me to keep fighting throughout the contest. I gained so much confidence as a lady author and was so glad to meet other women slaying as writers and/or gamers :D If you haven’t already go check out their projects (a few are SO close to reaching Quill) because they are badass!

I also want to thank the Inkvengers for pulling behind me during the final days and Ferd Crotte for cheering me on and giving me words of encouragement that were enough to keep the juices flowing. Ferd has 8 days left on his campaign for Mission 51 so please help him reach Quill! You don’t want to miss out on a fantastic project. I want to give a huge thank you to Elena Stofle for being patient with me and answering a bajillion of my questions, and for purchasing multiple copies she is truly awesome! And of course, a HUGE thank you to Duncan Rafferty for accepting my project into the Thane Studios Collection, designing the cover, and believing in my project when I didn’t. At times when I was derailing, Duncan managed to keep my head straight and set me back on the correct path.

Finally, I want to thank my wonderful immediate and extended family (especially my parents and sister), my friends, acquaintances, and lab family for all of their support. Without them, this project would not have been as successful and so for that I am grateful to have such a loving and supportive group.

Sorry if I forgot anybody and for a particularly long update! If you need me I’m always an email or DM away! Have a great weekend all! And did I mention IT’S FRIDAY!!!! :D :D :D

Hey all!

In my excitement about reaching Quill and following the aftermath of the contest I forgot to show the full painting since we reached 250! Here it is:

You’ll all be getting a copy of this painting (without all the lines of course).

Finally, I want to congratulate Kendra Namednil on reaching Quill with her fantastic project Borehole Bazaar: A Vow Unbroken !! Kendra has been one of my biggest cheerleaders during the contest and the first person I connected with on Inkshares so for that I am grateful. The Inkshares community has been so wonderful to me and I appreciate every single one of you :)

I will make sure to keep ya’ll updated on AYSYWTQ? as I go. Have a wonderful week!

Hey everyone,

First off, let me just say THANK YOU to each and every one of you that have been following my project this whole time and/or pre-ordered a copy. I might not have won the contest, but I REACHED QUILL (yay!!!). I am going to be a published author and you’ll all get to read this story which is incredible to me!! I never imagined that this campaign would be as successful as it was and for that I am greatly humbled so thank you for making my dream come true.

I also want to say congratulations to the Inkvengers (Too Many Controllers), Prescott Harvey (In Beta), and Peter Ryan (Destiny Imperfect) for running excellent campaigns as well. If you haven’t yet go visit their page and pre-order a copy of their novels! Now that the contest is over I can relax and enjoy the other wonderful works on Inkshares.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going chill by the pool in this dreadful Texas heat. Until next time, cheers!!!!

Hey everyone!!

I know I said I wouldn’t send anymore updates but.....I would really like to reach the Top 3 in the Nerdist contest. I’m only 8 readers away from 3rd and so with less than 16 hours left in the contest every pre-order helps!

I’ve worked so hard on this story and as a black, female author I want nothing more than to increase diversity in the literary world. With this gamer girl novel, I hope to shed light on the lady gamers out there and show my true passion for writing. By hitting that lovely green button you’re not only supporting my project but bringing me one step closer to a lifelong dream. Once again, I ask those who haven’t pre-ordered yet to take a chance and invest in a gamer girl story with dragons and video gaming.

No matter the outcome, I will be proud with how successful this campaign has been and I won’t stop until this story is published.

Thank you for following me and have a good night!

Hello all!!

There are a mere 4 days left in the contest and right now, I am sitting in 4th place about 13 orders away from 3rd. I know I’m sounding like a broken record here but to the 61 followers who haven’t pre-ordered yet please consider hitting the green button. As a gamer girl, I wanted to represent all the ladies out there and share a tale that would hopefully help bridge the gap between women and the gaming community. Even if I don’t win the contest, I’m going to keep on writing until I finish Are You Sure You Want to Quit? and hopefully reach Quill as well! :)

This will be my last plea for support for my project so you won’t be bothered by me for a couple days! I’ll be heading to Austin, Texas with my boyfriend in a few days (is it sad that I’m more excited about the Pokemon I’ll catch there than the actual trip?) and I can’t wait!

Until next time dragonslayers!

Best,

アリサちゃん
