Smiley Lorenzo Petruzziello liked an update for MINE

Feel grateful to be working. Being a remote-working introvert, not much has changed for me. Hope all is well with you my friends and fellow writers. Are you using this time getting busy with writing?

Read an article about the state of booksellers in this pandemic time. It concerned me. Folks are likely shopping at Amazon to get their book fix. I do too, but thought: What if I bought some books on Inkshares? We all have an interest in keeping the enterprise sailing along, right? Whatever happens happens, but I still believe, so I committed to buying five books. Here are my picks:

Abomination

Dracula vs. Hitler

Welcome to Deadland

The Love Fool

One Murder More

The Talkers are Talking

Okay, there are six now—all trade or hardcover books, me being an old school boomer who likes his paper. Some of these are on my Kindle app but they’re dead to me there. And The Talkers are Talking is still in production. Darn! Guess I’ll have to wait for that one.

      Hello readers!

Just sharing some events I will be speaking at in October.

On October 2nd, I will be speaking at my alma mater Suffolk University on Beacon Hill in Boston. I’m looking forward to sharing my story with students, faculty and staff on how, when, why I wrote THE LOVE FOOL. Books will be on sale on site and at the Suffolk University bookstore. More info at: https://www.suffolk.edu/sawlib/56550.php

On October 15th, Eataly Boston will be hosting Aperitivo with the Author featuring me! I will be speaking about my background, growing up with both cultures, and what inspired me to write THE LOVE FOOL. Aperitivo cocktails and bites will be served, along with a dish of Amatriciana. Tickets also include a copy of THE LOVE FOOL. Smiley Lorenzo Petruzziello liked an update for A Gentleman’s Murder

            Dear friends and followers,

Things are really progressing! We have:

            • Galleys! And a new cover!
            • Reviews! Blurbs!
            • Interviews! (You’ll want to check this out.)

So, first off, the galleys. LOOK! Inkshares posted this to Twitter a few days ago:

Yes, there’s a blurb there from Andy Lewis of The Hollywood Reporter. It says, "A mystery that recalls the best of Golden Age detective fiction. With fresh characters and unique twists, Huang has created a whodunit with just the right mix of old and new."

If you head over to one of the online retail outlets like Amazon, you’ll see a few other blurbs too:

            • "Dorothy Sayers is alive and well and writing under the name of Christopher Huang. A Gentleman’s Murder echoes the traditional mysteries in the best sense: no car chases or explosions, just great characters and a feel for time and place." - Rhys Bowen, author
            • "Settings and atmosphere captured perfectly from nearly a century ago, complex characters, and a compelling mystery―Christopher Huang’s A Gentleman’s Murder is a must read for fans of Anthony Horowitz, Charles Todd, and Anne Perry." - Daryl Maxwell, Los Angeles Public Library
            • "A dazzlingly atmospheric debut that transports you to 1920s London. A Gentleman’s Murder is a meticulous mystery that will keep you guessing until the end and please fans of both Agatha Christie and Gillian Flynn." - Sarah Nivala, Book Soup

Over on Goodreads, Advance Reader reviews are already coming in.

And interviews. Well, interview, singular ... for now. I exchanged a few friendly words with Jacqui Castle, author of The Seclusion, on her blog. Here’s the link. (While you’re at it, why not also check out The Seclusion? It’s quite the disturbing little dystopian epic.)

And we’re on track for the official publication date of 31 July 2018. TALLY HO!
