Margie Blice Haase liked an update for First on Mars

Like many people, I was shocked, sickened, and saddened to learn of the shooting that happened on Sunday near downtown Orlando. We have since learned that this was the worst mass shooting in US history and that it was an act of hatred, targeting a gay night club.

As you may or may not know, I live and work in central Florida. The shooting occurred not too far from my place of work. This was like a punch in the gut. My heart aches for everyone affected by this tragedy. Unfortunately these acts of violence have become all too common, but it does not diminish the fact that 49 people lost their lives and over fifty others were injured in a senseless act of hatred. I claim no special insight or closeness to what happened, other than physical proximity, and this has nothing to do with the book, but I also can’t just continue without addressing what happened.

I’m amazed to see the reaction of this community (and the whole world) – tons of people volunteering, giving blood, showing solidarity, and wanting to help in any way they can.

There have been tons of responses and ways to help. Here are some of them: GoFundMe, Planting Peace, OneBlood.

Margie Blice Haase liked an update for Monkey Business

    Hi Followers of Monkeys,

Monkey Business is done, published and out in the world. Backers who are getting signed copies should have them by next week at the latest. I want to say thank you one more time for the interest and support. I hope you like the book.

Couple of things. Elan Samuel of theWarblerBooks.com and One fame was kind enough to interview me for his site. I’m not sure when that’s going up but I’ll let you know. Huge thanks to Elan who was a super cool guy whom I hope to talk to again soon. I urge you to go check out theWarblerBooks.com.

I’m also doing a small interview for Inkshares. Not sure when that will be up but I’ll let you know. Monkey Business was the first Quill Publication so if anybody has any questions, thoughts, concerns or jokes feel free to get in touch.

And now for the big ask. Would you consider going to Amazon and leaving a review of Monkey Business? As many authors who are much smarter than me have pointed out, Amazon reviews are crucial to getting your book out there. If you could take a minute and leave one for Monkey Business, that would be radically awesome, borderline superfly.

And if you enjoy the book, please tell someone you know. Or everyone you know. Thank you all!

Margie Blice Haase liked an update for Deus Hex Machina

The end is nigh my friends...200 of you intrepid adventurers have put your trust and hard earned money into this making this book a reality, and with 10 days to go, funding is almost completed. Barring some major shift in events behind the scenes, Deus Hex Machina will be headed toward production shortly thereafter.

If you are following the book and would still like to get in a preorder before the end of funding, now is your chance. After June 16th I won’t be giving out any more codes to read the manuscript before it’s published.  I figure that’s my little gift to those who got in early, on the ground floor as it were.

December 15th seems like a lifetime ago, but here I sit, looking at a successful funding campaign and a book about to be completed.  My promise to you is this: I will finish the last three chapters by the end of the funding period. It’s going to be hard work, but I said this book would be completed in April, and I had to push it to May because of all the extra scenes I found in it. Now it’s June, and this is a wonderful motivator to get the book’s first bones knitted. Once that is done it’s time to contact my development  editor about making sure this book is the best it can be. I think I might slip a beta reader cycle in there somewhere. Let me know if you are interested.

For now, thank you, a thousand times thank you. You made this book happen, and I am humbled to be the steward of your faith.

Margie Blice Haase liked an update for Mission 51

I am very excited to present a new book cover for Mission 51! Here is how it happened:

Recently, Jaye Milius revealed her amazing new book cover for her book Terminus. I was so impressed I asked her who had designed it for her. This led me to Christian Akins.

Chris was wonderful to work with! Over the course of a few emails and a few days, he fashioned this incredible new cover, with spine and back cover as well. I can strongly recommend him to anyone looking to do the same!

Here is the new Mission 51 book cover. TaaDaa!!
