Tony Valdez liked an update for She Is the End

Hi my (presumable) fellow nerds! Guess what's coming up sooner than soon?

If you guessed the Review-a-Thon, you'd be right but WHO CARES

I'M TALKING ABOUT STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

OBVIOUSLY

KSSSH! KSHHH! We're having daily light saber (or, "life saver" if you're three) duels at my house, my husband has dissolved into a pile of references, behind-the-scenes articles, and a complete re-write of Return of the Jedi (CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT HONEY), and I am just trying to STAY ON TARGET with all this stuff I'm doing.

I'm not sure if I'll be coherent on Saturday. We'll see.

But then we'll have the Review-a-Thon, and so I must tell you all about it!

There's a facebook event now! GO JOIN IT AND THEN INVITE PEOPLE!

Guess who's lined up for interviews during the livestream you'll be able to watch on youtube?

Jeyna Grace of The Battle for Oz and The Slave Prince!

Jim McDoniel of An Unattractive Vampire!

Jeremy Thomas, CEO of Inkshares!

John Robin of Blood Dawn and the Epic Fantasy Syndicate!

...and Gary Whitta of Abomination!

We're also going to be reading some reviews posted that very day, listing off our top fave books in the Sword & Laser: Electric Boogaloo competition, and maybe even reading a scene from the screenplay of Dax Harrison by Tony Valdez!

I'm sending out the review assignments Friday morning, so if you want in on the review exchange email me at cara.c.weston@gmail.com soon.

And in the meantime... may the Force be with you.

Tony Valdez sent an update for Dax Harrison

    Good morning everyone!

It's time for Dax Harrison coffee mug giveaway #5! CLICK HERE TO WATCH!

DAX COUNTDOWN: 11 days remaining, 53 orders to publishing

Well, this is it folks. It's been a valiant effort, but we are most definitely down to the wire now. If you've been following the book and have yet to pre-order, now is the time. If you already bought the book, but you have some spare Inkshares credits to use, a 2nd order would be much appreciated. If you have friends or family who might also be interested in contributing, now is the time to spread the word and get them to order ASAP!

Hopefully, this Saturday's Review-A-Thon event will help push those final orders through. In case you forgot about that, here's a nifty reminder courtesy of fellow author A.C. Weston...

    .

On December 19th, all authors and readers are invited to leave reviews on currently funding Inkshares books using the Inkshares "leave a review" option.

Throughout the day we'll be hanging out on Twitter in the #InksharesReviews tag as we share our favorite book projects, answer author Q&As, debate the merits of astronauts with swords versus cavemen with lasers, and more!

Then, from 3 - 5pm PST (6 - 8pm Eastern), JF Dubeau and Paul Inman of the WriteBrain Podcast will be hosting a video livestream filled with author interviews, review readings, and live announcements of prize winners!

    Prizes?!?!

Everyone who leaves a review on December 19th by 3pm PST (6pm Eastern) will be eligible to win one of our fantastic general prizes:
    • Sword & Laser Contest Winners Package - print copies of the six winning books from the Sword & Laser Inkshares contest!
    • Nerdist Contest Winners Package - print copies of the five winning books from the Nerdist Inkshares contest!
    • An immediate pre-order of the book of their choice for five winners!
    • $30 in Inkshares credits!

Readers: Peruse the "currently funding" books on Inkshares and leave as many reviews as you want on Dec 19th. You could even start up a "must-have" list of books to order in case you win a free pre-order or the $30 in credits!

Authors: Join our review exchange to leave three reviews in exchange for two guaranteed reviews on your Inkshares project and a chance at author-exclusive prizes! Email AC Weston at cara.c.weston@gmail.com to learn more and get on the list.

    ----

And finally, I would like to extend my gratitude to fellow authors Jim McDoniel, Thomas J. Arnold and Joseph Asphahani, who gave Dax some lovely shout-outs this past week. Be sure to check out their own projects at the links below. You should also keep them in mind for the Review-A-Thon!

An Unattractive Vampire - Jim McDoniel
The Animal in Man - Joseph Asphahani
Exile, Magus - Thomas J. Arnold

    Cheers!

Tony Valdez liked an update for The Animal in Man

      Hello my Dear Animals!

I’m proud to announce that soon after this past weekend concluded, “The Animal in Man” had crested over the halfway mark of the Sword & Laser publishing contest! Thank you all so much for bringing me here! As you know, I’ve been tirelessly reaching out to you, but it’s only because of your support that my work is worth anything. Thank you.

Author Jamison Stone has invited me to post more details about “The Animal in Man” on his blog! The short essay I put together delves a little deeper into how the story was born from my experiences with D&D, how it’s been shaped by Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave,” and how I struggled to commit myself to writing it as life got a little busy. Please check it out!

And check out Jamison’s amazing book “Rune of the Apprentice” as well! There’s good reason this story by a very gifted writer has attracted over a thousand readers already: the hunt for Aleksi is one of harrowing action and suspense that will captivate your imagination and not let go. I cannot wait to see where the chase for this hero leads us. All of Jamison Stone’s pre-order profit will go directly to support US Military Families, so there is literally no reason I can devise for you not to put through an order for “Rune of the Apprentice”.

Again, thank you all so much for your support of the Inkshares platform. It is because of you that writers like myself and Jamison can tell our stories to the world. Thank you!
