As much as it pains me to say it, we’ve come to the end of the campaign, and unfortunately we didn’t make it to either of the funding goals. Despite all the work put into the book and its advertising, it just wasn’t in the cards. This isn’t a pity party, though. To say this has been a learning experience would be an understatement, and I’ve quickly come to appreciate established infrastructure for ventures like this.
It’s unfortunate that Star Light, Star Bright couldn’t make it to either fundraising goal, but this isn’t the end for Christine and the White Star. Even though we couldn’t make the timelines for any contests and I have elected not to extend the campaign, SLSB and its world are far from dead. Whether we try again with Inkshares or a different publishing method remains to be seen, but giving up on this is the last thing on my mind.
I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the campaign, especially those who bought multiple copies. From the bottom of my heart, your help means the world to me. I don’t know the timeline on when you’ll receive your refunds, but your contributions will be returned in full.
Thanks again to all of you. If you haven’t already, check out some of the other books available and crowdfunding through Inkshares. There are a ton of great writers here trying to make their dreams a reality.
