Robert Batten liked an update for The Last Faoii

Greetings, Faoii!

I promised that you would know more as I did, so here you go: The issue with Quill has been fixed and we’ve officially joined their ranks! Let me hear your war cry!

Other than that, I’m trying to work on a tagline for The Last Faoii’s facebook page. Follow that if you haven’t already! You can see the taglines and promotional ideas as I make them, and give me your input right away. Also, maybe you’ll find something there that interests you and that you can use to promote your own book (for example: I created images of all the reviews The Last Faoii has received and put them into an album on that page. Several others have started doing that as well and it seems to be effective! Steal the idea. Take it. Run with it. Succeed with it).

That’s it for now. Dismissed.

Robert Batten liked an update for I Am Waltz

    Hello Readers & Friends,

A BIG update. I Am Waltz has officially finished the developmental edit and is now with the copy editors at the publisher. The time is rapidly approaching now and books will be on there way sooner than later. The timeline provided by the publisher for this is a few months, so I hope everyone will get their books during the spring.

For those with signed paperbacks, the books will first be sent to me to sign, then the publisher will send them out to you all.

Thank you all again for your continued support and I hope you all love I Am Waltz when you get it.

Soon I will begin working on the sequel to this book and as promised all early adopters of I Am Waltz will be purvey to unique insight and tidbits/early drafts or the sequel.

    -Love, Matt

From someone who is mid-campaign: Janna’s advice is invaluable. I’ve already done two things differently from having spoken with her, and have seen positive results :) Yeehaw!

I hope you find this resource useful. If you do, I encourage you to share with your author friends who you think might find it useful too.

      THANK YOU JANNA!

Robert Batten liked an update for Fae Child

        Hello Readers and Followers!

This is just a short update to let you know that I have chosen to extend the Fae Child campaign one more time. Instead of ending on December 31st, I will be on this crowdfunding rollercoaster through the end of February. Fae Child has been getting some good buzz on Inkshares in the syndicates, and I want to be able to capitalize on that and give myself some space after the holidays are over to pull in more orders. We are very close to 100 orders, and it’s just a hop and a skip from that to 250. Okay, okay, it’s a little more than that, but I really think we can do it together, and I really believe in this book. Picture Fae Child as The Little Book That Could, and we’re chug-chugging up Preorder Mountain. Thank you so much for your support, and your patience.

Robert Batten liked an update for The Walls are Closing In
The follower count is approaching 70 for The Walls are Closing In, and the book has received two great reviews, which I have shared below. A special thank you to Bill Osinki and Deborah Munro.

Thank you also to Eric H. Heisner, Joshua Griffith, G.A. Finocchiaro, Sara Polk, Michael Cooper, and Shawn Dove for the recommendations. Recommendations are incredibly important because they place The Walls are Closing In in the "Recommended by Inkshares Readers" section on the front page of the Inkshares Website, thereby increasing exposure.

I plan on launching the Pre-Order campaign in mid-January and publishing Chapter 2 at the same time. Stay tuned!

          What the Critics Are Saying

          Bill Osinski

"This is future shock delivered in real time and with max voltage. The most chilling part about "The Walls are Closing In" is that the walls really are closing in. We have just endured a presidential where truth was discarded and ignored, so it does not seem like such a leap to enter a world where truth, beyond what the powerful deem it to be, is unknown."

          Deborah Munro

"Castle has crafted an eerily believable future for America that is reminiscent of George Orwell’s "1984". From the giant wall insulating America from the rest of the world, to the propaganda on mandatory, controlled television, to the cameras monitoring the protagonist’s every movement, I was chilled. This is a fascinating read about how 75 years from now, everything could be totally different in our world."

Robert Batten liked an update for Shadow King

Hello and happy Friday, my good and excellent friends.

We’re coming into the home stretch for the Launchpad competition. By this time next Friday, the proof will be in the pudding, the die will be cast, and the Fat Lady will have finished her solo.

"Shadow King" has made progress, and I know we can still make our goal of the Top Three -- but readers really matter, and I can’t turn this dream into a reality without your help. If you’ve been waiting to place your pre-order, now would be an outstanding time!

So here are five reasons you should invest in a pre-order of "Shadow King":
            1) You’re an awesome human being.
            2) You’re dying to know what happens to Aohdan and Seireada.
            3) It would be the greatest holiday gift EVER -- I’d be deliriously happy.
            4) Do you really want Aohdan showing up at your door asking why you didn’t order?
            5) I really believe it is a great story with lots of potential (and so do the Launchpad judges).

And as an added incentive, don’t forget -- all new readers in December could win one of two $25 Amazon gift cards. Great way to defray a little of your holiday shopping bill!

Hoping to see all of you on the "official readers" list before next Friday!

            All the best,
            Susan

Robert Batten sent an update for Human Resources

The final days are upon us — there is less than a week left in the Inkshares / Launch Pad crowdfunding competition. On the 16th December (PST, 17th December in Aus) the competition wraps up and we will know who the winners are. Those winners will receive more than just bragging rights, they will benefit from mass production and additional editing / design / marketing resources.

If you have been planning to pre-order, but haven’t yet, it would be a great help if you did so before the end of the competition.

It’s been a long campaign, but the finish line is in sight. Thank you for all your support — the book has 350 followers; received more than 500 shares, likes, and comments on Facebook; been tweeted about countless times; and has received 20 recommendations and 10 great reviews. Every share, recommendation, and review has been an enormous help in getting this far — one final push should get us across the line.

PS: There is more bonus content planned, but the next two instalments will take a bit of work, and they will come out after the end of the competition.

              Thank you all.

Robert Batten liked the forum thread, Inkshares vs. The Others
What I am liking about Inkshares is the connection and networking with other writers. Some have more experience here than others and that is helpful for somebody like me. I self-published my first novel last year using CreateSpace. With the completion of my second novel, I wanted to try something different. Thirty unanswered agent and publishers later, I’m not quite ready to go back to CreateSpace so I thought I’d try Inkshares.  I have launched a FB campaign to draw in the FB community. What about Goodreads? Has anybody tried to use Goodreads to draw followers from there? There is an Inkshares Groups at GR but there isn’t much activity over there.
