Book Proposal: Overview

UNDERSTANDING WHY HAVING A METHOD IS GOOD

Choosing to take charge of your life is only the first step: answering the hero’s call to action. Knowing where you want to go - such as using a SMART goal - provides you with a sense of direction much like a compass. But a compass without even a simple map, to give you a sense of the terrain so you can adapt to whatever obstacles lie ahead, will have you constantly climbing up-hill, swimming against the current, and making every little step so much more difficult than it needs to be  that you lose heart and give up. Without a method of compass and map it feels as though the world is against you, that everything is happening to you.

ALL PART OF THE PLAN

When it comes to having a sense of direction, knowing the lay of the land, and charting a course, there is no one more exemplary in the fairy tale lexicon - to my mind - than Master Cat. He sees all that is present, sees all that can be, and travels nimbly from his Point A to his preferred Point B. You’ll know you’re in the thick of things when I start spelling it out: M-A-S-T-E-R - C-A-T.

HAPPILY EVER OUT THERE

The point of questing is growth and change through action. Having broken down Master Cat’s methodology in the previous section we will continue examining his famous tale to reveal his own implementation. Through the various characters Puss meets we can get ideas for building momentum, embracing accountability, and garnering support right up to the point of every quester’s greatest obstacle; only to learn that, too, is all part of the plan.
