Leo Valiquette liked an update for Lost in the Fog

Aloha All,

Hope you have been enjoying your summer as much as possible and have been reading some good books!

With Lost in the Fog a little more than a month away from being published, I want to make sure everyone who graciously pre-ordered the book (thank you, thank you, thank you!!!) receives their copy.  If you still have the same address as when you bought Lost in the Fog it shall arrive at your doorstep or mailbox on or around September 21st.  But if you’ve moved since then ...

Please go to https://www.inkshares.com/

Sign into your account (if you don’t remember your password you can reset it).  Click the "Account" button on the top right, and select "Address." You can then verify and/or update your mailing address. Once you do that, you should be all set, and Lost in the Fog will be sent to you!

If you changed email accounts or in any way cannot log-in, please contact Inkshares at hello@inkshares.com.  They are really amazing and will help you.  But if for some reason you are experiencing difficulties, please let me know and I will assist.

Mahalo again for your support, and here’s a 3D mock-up of the book!

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Mina Harker

Hello all, I just wanted to let the folks that support MINA HARKER and myself to know that the project didn’t make its quota here on INKSHARES several months ago. Since then, I have been working on other avenues for publishing.

MINA HARKER is now available in softcover and on KINDLE at AMAZON. https://www.amazon.com/Mina-Harker-Eddy-L-Barrows/dp/1533004978. It’s taken a lot of work, and I was so encouraged by everyone’s enthusiasm for the project. The positive comments from lots of folks kept me from giving up on the whole thing.

INKSHARES is a very positive experience and a leader in the future of publishing. I will start my next project here and anxiously look forward to discussions and reviews.

Again, I thank all of MINA’s followers for your support (one of the best things about INKSHARES!)

I hope everyone is well and wearing a damn mask.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for The Miracle Sin

Not to brag, but THE MIRACLE SIN has now reached a whopping 1.0666% of its funding goal. I think I’ll take the rest of the night off.

      Thank you for the support!

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Showtime

        Hey everyone,

I hope your summer is going well and that you’re able to take some time to relax, eat some good food, and read some good books. I finished Stephen King’s If It Bleeds and am now about halfway through Michael Crichton’s The Lost World. So far, it’s even better than Jurassic Park.

I just wanted to drop in to say that Adam has finished reading Showtime and is pleased with the amount of developmental revisions that I’ve done with Sarah. Because of this, I’m thrilled to say we’re finished with macro-level editing (plot, character development, pacing, etc.) and moving on to the next stage of production: line and copy edits!

“More editing?” you might say. “What’s the difference between line and copy editing? Isn’t all editing the same?”

I’m glad you asked, because no, it’s not!

Line editing involves combing through the manuscript at the sentence level, focusing on the use of language—Is it clear? Is it easy to read? Does your diction convey what you originally meant? Good stuff like that to hone and polish the prose.

Copy editing, on the other hand, covers the mechanics of writing like spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

I’m not sure when I’ll have a new line edited draft to look through (I’ll send out another update when I do), but I’m optimistic that these next two stages will take less time than the previous rounds of developmental edits since we’re funneling down into the smaller pieces of editing now.

Showtime’s release date (like all Inkshares books in production right now) is still uncertain, but we’re looking at fall of 2021, which is pretty much what I expected when Showtime was greenlit for publication last summer. Regardless of the publisher, it takes around two years for a book to get from manuscript to finish product. Fall of 2021 puts it around that mark. If it weren’t for COVID, it would undoubtedly be released into the wild earlier. Oh well, that just gives us time to cast the movie. Any takers? ;)

Thanks again for your support, and enjoy your afternoon!

Hi Kelly. Things are moving a little more slowly than I like, but they are moving. There’s a backlog of books ahead of me, and recent events have made progress a little sticky on multiple fronts. I had expected this book to be ready by the end of the year, but right now that’s not looking too likely ... perhaps the middle of next year might be more realistic.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Young Donald

Young Donald is very close to publication now. With the help of the brilliant team at Inkshares, the story is strong, the design is sweet and it’s almost ready.

But, like a localized spike in COVID cases after a Trump rally, these things simply take time to develop. The book is set to come out in October. In the meantime, if you cannot wait, let me know and I’ll read it to you over the phone.

Thanks again for all of your fabulous support!
