Hi everyone,
I know it has been a bit since my last update, but we all get so much email, I didn’t want to send anything unless I actually had something to say.
The good news--the Shadow King manuscript and author questionnaire that Inkshares asked me to fill out have both been turned in to the Inkshares team. So, that is one step closer to getting production rolling. The "bad" news is that I’m still in the queue so production has not officially kicked-off yet (and I don’t have an anticipated kick-off date yet). I am keen to get going and as soon as I have any news on that front, I’ll be sure to let you know!
In the meantime, I’ve been trying to figure out some of this whole marketing thing which--I confess--is a bit alien to me. I have been invited to contribute to a couple blogs, and I’ll send those links when my posts are live. I’m also looking into starting my own. And my author pages on Amazon and Goodreads are set up, and I’ll share those links with all of you in an upcoming update.
My cover is nearly complete and I’m very happy with how it has turned out. Once we get the last few adjustments taken care of, I’ll be updating my Inkshares page and sharing it with all of you.
From a sales perspective I’ve leveled off a little, and I need to refocus on that. I’m within striking distance of 300 orders, and I’d love to hit that milestone in the near future and move on up from there!
That’s it for this update. I’ll send another soon when I have information on my author pages and new cover!
Have a great rest of the week!
Best,
Susan
March is winding up and significant work is progressing on Human Resources. During the past month, my developmental editor was assigned and read the manuscript. Since then, we’ve been working furiously on the planned edits to whip the book into shape. Matt, my editor, is brilliant. He’s been deconstructing the manuscript with insightful observations, making great suggestions, and generally keeping me working hard. With his support, a new outline for the novel is emerging, that trims away unnecessary distractions, crystallises the themes, and adds extra punch to the plot. The unfortunate outcome of this effort is more work, but I’m excited by the improvements. Human Resources will be dramatically improved by the time it reaches your hands. On a related note: feel free to send me all your caffeine, I’m going to need it :).
If you haven’t already done so, it would be great for everyone to follow my various online accounts — it feeds my ego, staving off the crushing self-doubt of a writer!
Finally, I wanted to point your attention towards two particular projects on Inkshares:
Sorcery for Beginners
A 13-year-old boy finds an easy-to-read, how-to manual for magic. Now he just has to prevent everyone else from stealing it.
Sorcery for Beginners is in production and written by my talented editor. It’s a fun premise and is going to be a great read.
Rule Britannia
A female airship Captain and her crew work to prevent a despotic Queen Victoria expanding her empire.
This new project is by a fellow Tasmanian and now funding. There isn’t enough steampunk in my life, and Rule Britannia will fill that void in an epic manner. The excerpts have me bouncing up and down for more.
Greetings Bards!
I have been away from the keyboard for awhile, but I am currently getting back to work on the Lore of the Aos Sí Series. It looks like I will be self-publishing the series, at this time. More details to come soon.
I am reaching out to my readers here on Inkshares, not only to let you all know I am alive and well, but also to investigate if any among you might be interested in giving me some feedback on a few chapters, worldbuilding, and a whole host of other fun stuff. If anyone out there would be interested please email me at christopher.eichenauer@gmail.com
Hope everyone is well!
Blessed Be
Christopher Lee
