Tahani Nelson sent an update for The Last Faoii

Updates, Faoii! Listen up!

No new information from Inkshares, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been idle in the silence. Instead, I’ve been preparing as best I can for the signal to proceed.

As such, I’ve set up a Goodreads Page for The Last Faoii. Check it out, follow it, review The Last Faoii if you’ve read it (or review the chapters, excerpts, and everything else that you’ve seen so far). When we hit publication, I want to be able to jump into as much marketing as I can right away. The best way to do that is have a following already in place on as many platforms as possible.  So if you’re already on Goodreads, it won’t hurt to just click that little "Want To Read" button under The Last Faoii’s title. Let potential recruits know that we’ve already formed an army. And, of course, reviews are always helpful.

If you want to wait on Goodreads until the book is actually out and you can read it in its entirety, that’s fine too. HOWEVER, if you haven’t left a review for The Last Faoii on inkshares yet, CLICK HERE. Do it now, faoii. You’re part of this army, and reviewing what you’ve seen so far on the site that’s going to publish our story is the BEST THING YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW. I don’t care if you’ve only read a little bit of the book or if you’re basing your knowledge of Kaiya’s world specifically on my updates-- the Inkshares platform is based on great reviews from just a little material. (If you want an example of how to write a review, I’ve put up every review so far in this album on The Last Faoii’s FB page. Look through that, and know that I’ll be adding your review to the album as well when you post it).

These small steps will help our army and The Last Faoii get noticed-- and we need to be noticed if we want to keep this process going.  Don’t forget, faoii: We want the largest army possible when the next charge is sounded-- when publication day finally arrives. And that day IS coming. When it gets here, we’ll be ready.

Shields up.

Post the fifth line from your book! Here’s mine:

Abbie was sitting on a mossy stump, watching bees as they swarmed the petite white blooms of a blackberry bramble, and anticipating the bountiful harvest she’d enjoy in the coming months.

What if there was an internal resource, even a google sheet, where all queued, to be edited Quill projects where placed. Authors could gain insight into a timeline on when their project might begin the editing process.

          Dear Authors,

We are no longer offering signed copies as part of the incentive package for pre-ordering a book. As our author base has expanded globally, it has become logistically impractical to offer this option.  In many cases, it makes it much more difficult to get books to backers prior to the publication date.

What does this mean for books currently in production? For both Inkshares and Quill, we are going to work with the author to find a solution that works best for them and their backers. In some cases, a signed book option will still be practical; in other cases, it might make more sense to have a signed insert like a bookmark or print. Of course, where backers don’t wish to have an unsigned book, we will refund their order.

We value our authors and readers dearly and regret any frustration that this may have caused.

          Best,

          Thad
