It’s been a dozen days since the official release of A Gentleman’s Murder, and I think everyone should have received their pre-ordered copies by now. So now I’m waiting anxiously for reviews to start making their appearance on Amazon and Goodreads. Last I looked, there were ten reviews on Amazon.com; I’m told that Amazon.com wants maybe a hundred before they’ll start taking a book seriously. And after all, people shopping Amazon want to know what they’re getting into, don’t they?
Meanwhile, the audiobook is out, too! You can get it here, from Audible.com. It’s narrated by Raphael Corkhill, who does a fantastic job with his performance. He’s got one of those deep baritone voices you could listen to for ages, and a delivery that takes you right there into the world of 1924 London.
So please, tell the world ... but especially, tell Amazon.
Happy reading!
Hello to one and all!
I wanted to briefly send out a call for reviews on the book’s Amazon page. If you have enjoyed the book, then I would be grateful for the support. Having such wonderful support from family, friends, and quite a few new friends makes all the difference in the world for me because of how much time went into the work. As for news, there’s not much to tell at the moment, I’m still working out the details of some promotional events for the book, but the Navy schedule makes that a little difficult. Regardless, I am still in the process of writing more stories and hopefully will have an update in that realm soon.
Thanks!

I am alive! Anything you heard to the contrary is false. No, JF Dubeau did not kill me off in his upcoming sequel. I just have had a really tough couple of years and I didn’t keep up with much of what I probably should have.
In the spirit of keeping things short and sweet, pertinent updates:
I will be at Dragoncon. If you can make it by, reach out to me so I can say hi. If you have your copy and it isn’t already signed, I’ll sign it!
Fall is 50% done being edited by me. If you haven’t, you should probably get your copy pre-ordered today!
I’ve got other ideas that have been percolating, but that’s the important stuff for now.
It’s August and it’s still as hot as ever here in Southern California. Our AC was out for a couple days but thankfully it’s up and running again. I hope you are all staying cool and enjoying your summers.
Some exciting news! After three letters back and forth, I got the green light from my editor to move forward with the rewrite so that’s what I’m doing! I’ve been trying to write a chapter a day, but I’m starting to realize that isn’t sustainable, so I’m scaling back to 1000 words a day. One of the editor’s other suggestions was to immerse myself in comparable books. I’ve been listening to audiobooks nonstop and I really can see an improvement in my writing! I’m so excited to share it with you all.
As far as other projects, I’m about 26,000 words into a new novel, which is on the back burner now that I’m working on Rock of Ages again, the Writing Bloc short story anthology is still set for a fall release, and I have a couple guest spots lined up-- an Instagram takeover, a guest post on crowdfunding, and a workshop on NaNoWriMo! I’ll be sure to share once everything is official.
If you’d like more frequent (weekly-ish) updates on Rock of Ages, events, other writing projects, and blog posts, sign up for my newsletter at http://eepurl.com/dBsQdP
Otherwise, I’ll catch up in September! Thank you all for your ongoing support!
