The Hide
To Rhys Overland, numbers have color, words have smells, and music is visual. Orphaned, she spends her adulthood feeling her way home. There, she’s recognized by someone who witnessed her birth and the potential of her DNA. Meaning, its time to run.

Hello everyone.

I haven't posted an update in a little while due to a cold I contracted. It knocked me out the loop for a little while, but I can happily say that I'm now back on my feet and working diligently once more on the novel. I've just posted the new version of Chapter One to the Inkshares page, which introduces our central protagonist, Fionna Cohmwell! I'm really happy with how this came out, and I can't wait for everyone to read it and share their feedback.

Looking ahead, I'm still drafting and writing out some of the remaining plot points or changes that I've made to the book(s), but I hope to have another pair of chapters; featuring Euwin Cohmwell and Silas, uploaded sometime this month. A new version of the cover is still on the way, and look for it soon. Beyond that, I will be making more of a media-blitz in the coming days, with several interviews, and a handful of con appearances. I'm really happy with how my book is taking shape, and a considerable part of that is due to all of you. Everyone who has taken the time to leave me feedback, shoot messages detailing their thoughts, and of course, supported my book with their pre-orders, has helped my story grow and evolve.

I'd like to offer a shout-out to a couple people in particular, who've really helped me out lately. Courtney Smith of "Welcome to Deadlands" and Christine Brennecke, and Jordan Shisler, of  "Jadenel", have both lent me some great feedback and editing, along with Jemimah Halbert, who gave me some invaluable advice about my novel's narrative. John Robin, of "Blood Dawn", has also been invaluable, with his extensive wellspring of knowledge on the craft of writing, as well as his impressive media work.

So, read the new chapter, give me your thoughts, and look for a bunch of material throughout October. I'm going to be looking to post my con-experiences (with pictures) somewhere soon, and a final note; I've noticed that The Children of the Forest currently has 173 followers, but only 98 unique sales. I'd like to implore everyone following the account to please pre-order a copy of the book. Help me break 100 unique sales, and get closer to my goal! I'm very proud of my story, and the feedback it's been receiving has been growing stronger with every day. Now is a great time to hop on and join the movement in making The Children of the Forest a reality.

Hey, everyone. Long silence, I know; haven't had much to say. There's been practically nothing to report.

The momentum from the contest has ground to a halt. Comic Con was a bust. I passed out some cards to artists that I spoke to, who were receptive and willing to share their cards with me, but none of that has led to any more sales, nor greater exposure. Trying to talk to people on the floor, in that morass, was practically impossible (for me).

I got some nice support from Nicholas West, so be sure to check out his book: Cancel the Ark. He believes that I can do this. I'm halfway to the eBook goal and 35% of the way to the print goal. But I simply cannot do it all by myself. I need his support, I need your support, I need the support of people you know.

Please, if you haven't yet ordered, order a copy. If you want to trade pre-orders, get in touch; I've got credits to spare.

Otherwise, I'm continuing to revise and considering my options if this campaign proves unsuccessful.

All, thank you for the support. Things have been progressing well... I am still in the editing stages and trying to get my last few chapters complete. This is the first long project I have done, so it has taken some getting used to! Anyways, I am going to post the first chapter soon, so at least you can get a preview of the story and see what you think!

Thanks so much for the support and for following my project! It has been my baby for a while and I just hope everyone enjoys it! =D

Thomas J. Arnold liked an update for The Catcher's Trap

Friends, The Catcher’s Trap passed the 800 pre-orders!

I am thankful and humbled by your support. I can assure you I am working hard to make sure you won’t be disappointed when you read the book.

But if the past couple of days have been any indication of what’s coming, selling the next 200 copies is going to be challenging. The buzz of the contest is over, and I have found myself once again hassling hard for each pre-order. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind working hard because I know what is at stake; but as I move away from my closer circle of friends, and their friends, it becomes more difficult to get new readers.

So please, if you have Inkshares credits left spend them on another copy; if you never got around getting a copy, please do so. Many of my current followers have not pre-order yet; feel free to contact me if you are still on the fence and want to learn more.

There are exciting things in the media front coming in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, that will infuse some much-needed life into this campaign.

              Have a Fantastic day!
