Robert Batten liked an update for The Phantom Forest

Hello (endlessly patient and wonderful) readers!

Some good news today: we have a release date! The Phantom Forest will be available both online and in brick and mortar bookstores on NOVEMBER 13th, 2018. I know you’ve waited a long time to get these books into your hands, and I’ve been waiting a long time to see the finish line. Standby for more info about release-week festivities (which also falls on the week of my birthday!) as well as how to make sure your favorite bookstore has it in stock. For the most up to date info, be sure to follow along on Twitter (@liz_kerin). Once we have an Amazon page up and running I would love reviews from anyone who has read an advanced copy!

SPEAKING OF REVIEWS: if you’re an Inkshares author who previously left a kind review on the book’s page, I’d love to pull a quote from your review for our back cover matter and additional promo materials. If you haven’t yet left a review but would like to cross-promote, please do so! I’d love to spread the word about your books as well.

Last but certainly not least - we have cover art! Titling and text is still in progress but artist Masha Stepanova created this stunning portrait of Seicha for the front cover and I couldn’t be more excited. See below!

I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has stuck with me despite the long waiting period. Couldn’t have done it without you and I can’t wait for November 13th!

Huge and Heartfelt Thanks,

Liz

Robert Batten liked an update for Kill Creek

Hello beloved supporters of Kill Creek!

I have a humble request that’ll cost you zero dollars and only take a couple of minutes. NPR is currently running their Summer Reader Poll for 2018, and this year the genre is horror!  You can vote for up to five books, and I would truly appreciate it if one of your votes was for Kill Creek. You can check out the poll at this link:

    https://www.npr.org/2018/06/12/617208292/its-aliiiiiive-this-year-our-summer-reader-poll-is-all-about-horror

And if you need suggestions for other books to support, I offer you a few more fantastic horror titles from Inkshares:

A God in the Shed by JF Dubeau

Devil’s Call by J. Danielle Dorn

    Abomination by Gary Whitta

Dracula vs. Hitler by Patrick Sheane Duncan

By voting for Kill Creek and any of these other titles, you’ll be supporting small-press horror and helping us underdogs get our names out there with the big kids. Dogs and kids. Who doesn’t want to see them together?

Please take the time to vote, and know that your support is always appreciated and never taken for granted.

    Best,

    Scott Thomas

      Well, well, well.

Look who needs your help again.

Actually, this time I come to you with a plea on behalf of the whole Inkshares Horror Family.

NPR is putting together a list of 100 scary books and stories. It goes without saying that it would be an honour to be included in that list (along with as many of my horror friends here at Inkshares). And you can help.

All you need to do is follow this link and submit A God in the Shed as one of your five choices. Voilà! You’re done. If you’re looking for other titles to fill out the other four slots, here are some recommendations from me to you:

      Kill Creek, by Scott Thomas
Devil’s Call, by J. Danielle Dorn
      Abomination, by Gary Whitta
Dracula vs. Hitler, by Patrick Sheane Duncan

(Kill Creek and Devil’s Call are particularly close to my heart as they’re from my brother and sister of Inkshares Horror)

As always, thank you so much for your support. There’s so much cool stuff on the horizon and it’s all because of you gorgeous humans.

Robert Batten liked an update for Cold Iron Crossing

Huzzah! The first draft of Cold Iron Crossing is finally complete, toping out at 30 chapters and two intervals. Dieselnoi Worawoot and his motley companions have survived another weekend in Cryptatown!

Now, of course, the harsh, cruel work of editing starts. I’ll be posting regular entries about my revision process on the main page for Cold Iron Crossing; each entry will talk about the edits I’ve made to certain chapters and the thought process behind my attempt to refine the flaws in my story.

If you like these peaks behind the hood, send a response or like! The Demon in the Hat demands it!

          WE DID IT!

Thank you so much for having faith in the Pilot X sequel. I am BEYOND thrilled to get this going. Now I will begin the long process of asking for your patience as we get the book ship shape for publishing.

As promised to tide you over, here’s a link to my next book coming out this summer called Gallium. It’s in the same universe as my book Lot Beta.

The link here will work for 7 days. Hope you enjoy!

Robert Batten liked an update for Sister of the Circuit

It’s been a long time coming, friends, but these little ladies have arrived. By now those of you who ordered physical copies should have received shipping notifications. When your books arrive, I’d love it if you posted a photo of them. I can’t wait to see how far the mech crew has spread.

This is a book that was driven entirely by you, the readers. Without the interest in this book, it wouldn’t exist. It would still be a jumble of graphic novel pages, barely a whisper of what it would become.

So today I celebrate you. Thank you for this gift of a book.

            May the Code replicate eternal.

              Song of the Sandman
In the aftermath of a small-town massacre, Venus McKenzie and her friends each try to deal with the fallout in their own way, not knowing that they are being pulled in the same direction: towards the pulpit of the Church of the Sandmen.
Robert Batten liked an update for Rock of Ages

              Happy June!
We’ve been busy here preparing for a move, which is exciting, but also a good distraction from waiting for my turn with the developmental editor at Inkshares. It seems like he will get to look at my book this summer.

In the meantime, I’ve kept busy with some other writing projects. I’m working closely with a new group called Writing Bloc, contributing to their blog and assuming the role of Project Manager for a short story anthology that should come out this fall. You can check out Writing Bloc and my contributions at https://writingbloc.com/.

I spoke at a panel on The Art of Publishing at the Claremont High School Literary Festival Word Play on May 19 and had a great time!

I also just finished outlining a new novel-- this one is speculative fiction and I’m really excited about it! I’ll keep you all updated as Rock of Ages moves forward. Thank you so much for your support!

Robert Batten liked an update for The Devil Inside

                June 2018

                Hello "Devil Inside" friends!

It has been a while since I last updated, so I wanted to just send a quick note out. "The Devil Inside" is still in the pre-production queue with Inkshares, waiting for its turn with the editor.

Many of you are also following my adventures with my other Inkshares title, "Shadow King." That novel officially kicked off production in June, and we are targeting an October release (which means those who pre-ordered SHOULD be getting their copies in September).

As we get closer to that date, I’ll inquire with Inkshares to see if I can get an idea of how many books are ahead of Devil so I can get you a more concrete update.

As always, both books are available for pre-order so if you have NOT ordered your copy yet, no time like the present! :-)

Have an excellent June and I’ll be in touch soon.

                Best,
                Susan

Robert Batten liked an update for Trigor

                  75% there!

Thanks to your overwhelming support we passed the 3/4 mark and are barreling towards the 750 preorders we need to get Trigor published. THANK YOU!

With two weeks to go I feel pretty good about it but I think we’d all feel better if it was just, you know, 100% already. ;)

So to motivate folks I’m going to offer to give a link to a PDF of ANOTHER book I have coming out this summer called Gallium. If you ever read my book, Lot Beta, you’ll recognise the universe. It’s not a sequel but it’s set in the same world. MThis time it’s a woman in a salvage operation trying to make a go of it and having forces set against her when she discovers ancient history that powerful people don’t want discovered.

Anyway if we get Trigor funded I’ll send out a link to the PDF of Gallium to all backers.

So spread the word, and thanks to all who have been. Y’all are the best.

                  Tom
