12 Days left until Pub day! In 3 days I will be jetting off to CA to sign the backer copies of The Seclusion, which are being printed now. I have also received word that E-book copies will be distributed as early as tomorrow. If you ordered a paperback, and you receive an E-Book file download link, don’t fear! The E-Book is just an extra perk.
Though I will send a larger email to my full mailing list on September 4th, I wanted to send a note through Inkshares to all of you - the original backers of a manuscript that was once titled The Walls are Closing In.
It has been a long 16 months since the campaign ended in May of 2017. The story has since been renamed and had countless hours of work poured into it by me and the amazing team at Inkshares. We have reached the end of the road.
I don’t know if I can adequately express how much I appreciate all of you, and the leap of faith you took for me when you backed this book. In 12 days The Seclusion will appear on bookstore shelves across the country and I will forever be a published author. I just want all of you to know that I realize I couldn’t have done this without you.
Thank you.
-Jacqui
Masters and Apprentices!
So excited to announce we are approaching the two-year publication anniversary of Rune of the Apprentice! How cool! In the coming months, I will have some awesome news about RUNE’s sequel, Oath of the Apprentice, and an illustrated novella called Shadow of the Moon, which takes place between RUNE and OATH!
Before I tell you about all that, however, I am first proud to announce that my next book, a graphic novel entitled The Last Amazon, will be published this November, right on the two year anniversary of RUNE!
The Last Amazon is set in the same universe as The Rune Chronicles and serves as a prequel to RUNE. Truth be told, I could not be happier to share this book (and exclusive Inkshares 20% discount below) with all of you!
David Granjo (the illustrator) and I have poured our heart and souls into this book and I could not be more proud of it! We’ve crafted a book par excellence, and our printer onthemark has produced an epic "making of" video of our foil covers. Click HERE to watch the video and see our press proofs comes to life!
Better yet, to celebrate all you awesome people who supported RUNE, I am excited to offer a 20% pre-order discount on The Last Amazon. Just enter "INKSHARES" in the Apotheosis Studios checkout screen! EZPZ!
The code will only work for a little while longer! So don’t wait! Snag your signed copy by clicking HERE now!
Again, this book is set in the same universe as Rune of the Apprentice and sheds light on how our planet was first shaped by catastrophe, and then molded by a few brave souls into the fantastical world of Terra--which you all have come to know so well.
Filled with Artifical Intelligence, post-apocalyptic espionage, and art that will blow your mind, The Last Amazon is a photo-realistic graphic novel, the kind of which has never been seen before!
Fellow Masters and Apprentices, this is a book you will not want to miss out on. And don’t forget to snag your 20% pre-order discount! Just enter "INKSHARES" in the Apotheosis Studios checkout screen! The code will only work for a little while longer! So don’t wait! Snag your signed copy by clicking HERE now!
Your support--both on RUNE, and now on The Last Amazon--means the world to me! THANK YOU!
Updates, Faoii! We’ve taken our first hill!
Another warrior has picked up an Eternal Blade, and we’ve surpassed 50 pre-orders! Let me hear your warcry!
Hello Adventure readers! It has been a few months since "Wings of the Pirate" has hit your e-reader and mailbox. Hopefully you were able to fit in into your summer reading schedule or possibly the warm tropical adventure is being saved for the chillier months ahead ... I have heard positive feedback from many of you but unfortunately few have put up a review on Amazon or Goodreads. It just takes a moment to click a star rating and leave a few short words, for example: "I liked it" or "What’s with the drunk monkey??"
Anyway, reviews can make or break a book, so if you’ve had the time to read it, please do me the great favor of leaving a review - good, bad or between.

If you love Western stories, my next novel due out in October is one you won’t want to miss! Familiar characters from one of my prior novels deal with familial loss and a newfound kinship that develops from tragedy. Performing the role of a parental protector can be a hard job on the western frontier.
Thank you for all your support,
Sincerely,
Eric H. Heisner

Great news, friends!
Proteus has had the honor of being supported by its third syndicate! Today, the Great SciFi for the 21st Century and Beyond Syndicate selected Proteus for their August pick. They previously supported Tantalus Depths as well, and it remains as big an honor now as it was then. They’ve supported many excellent books over the past few years, and it’s humbling to have two of my books on the list.
Thanks to them, and a large outpouring of support from many, many amazing people, Proteus has also achieved a second milestone today: we’ve passed 650 pre-orders! We now have less than a hundred orders remaining before reaching that coveted full publication goal. I have been waiting so eagerly to see those numbers go down to double digits for the past year. I can hardly believe we’ve made it this far.
But we haven’t made it all the way, yet. 100 pre-orders is still a lot, and we now have only 12 days to get them. Stay vigilant! Keep spreading the word! The finish line is in sight. We could hit our goal by the end of the week if we really push for it, and I, for one, am pushing as hard as I can.
It’s been a dozen days since the official release of A Gentleman’s Murder, and I think everyone should have received their pre-ordered copies by now. So now I’m waiting anxiously for reviews to start making their appearance on Amazon and Goodreads. Last I looked, there were ten reviews on Amazon.com; I’m told that Amazon.com wants maybe a hundred before they’ll start taking a book seriously. And after all, people shopping Amazon want to know what they’re getting into, don’t they?
Meanwhile, the audiobook is out, too! You can get it here, from Audible.com. It’s narrated by Raphael Corkhill, who does a fantastic job with his performance. He’s got one of those deep baritone voices you could listen to for ages, and a delivery that takes you right there into the world of 1924 London.
So please, tell the world ... but especially, tell Amazon.
Happy reading!
It’s August and it’s still as hot as ever here in Southern California. Our AC was out for a couple days but thankfully it’s up and running again. I hope you are all staying cool and enjoying your summers.
Some exciting news! After three letters back and forth, I got the green light from my editor to move forward with the rewrite so that’s what I’m doing! I’ve been trying to write a chapter a day, but I’m starting to realize that isn’t sustainable, so I’m scaling back to 1000 words a day. One of the editor’s other suggestions was to immerse myself in comparable books. I’ve been listening to audiobooks nonstop and I really can see an improvement in my writing! I’m so excited to share it with you all.
As far as other projects, I’m about 26,000 words into a new novel, which is on the back burner now that I’m working on Rock of Ages again, the Writing Bloc short story anthology is still set for a fall release, and I have a couple guest spots lined up-- an Instagram takeover, a guest post on crowdfunding, and a workshop on NaNoWriMo! I’ll be sure to share once everything is official.
If you’d like more frequent (weekly-ish) updates on Rock of Ages, events, other writing projects, and blog posts, sign up for my newsletter at http://eepurl.com/dBsQdP
Otherwise, I’ll catch up in September! Thank you all for your ongoing support!
First: thank you, thank you, and thank you for following this project. I really, sincerely, genuinely appreciate it and I can’t wait for you to see more.
Second: I’m posting this to inform you all that I’ve uploaded a promo-video-thing to the BREATHLESS story-page, which I think turned out pretty darn good. Author Ed Kurtz (Bleed, The Rib From Which I Remake the World) provided original voice-work and HE. ABSOLUTELY. NAILED IT. Check it out and let me know what you think. Happy reading, and remember what your ol pal Shane says: LIVE WELL, and LIVE SLOW
