Ladies and gentlemen, we have just sold our 250th pre-order of Tantalus Depths. As most of you already know by now, that is a very, very important number.
It means we have a book.
Tantalus Depths now qualifies to go under the Quill imprint.

Under the Quill imprint, Tantalus Depths can now be printed on demand, can be given an ISBN number, and can see limited distribution. Under Quill, it would be available to purchase through Amazon or Inkshares, in ebook or paperback form. It’d see some limited editing and design assistance, and all the backers would get the books they’ve paid for.
We are not stopping here.
Quill is a goal, but it is not the goal. The real goal is 750 pre-orders, and as far as I’m concerned, the journey to Quill was only significant as a landmark. Quill does not offer advertising services. It will not put copies of Tantalus Depths onto shelves, unless I arrange that with the bookstores myself. It doesn’t offer the fine-toothed editorial combing of my manuscript that it needs to be really ready for readers.
So yes, I am extremely happy to have gotten this far. I owe you all immensely for making this much possible, and I could not have asked for a more supportive group through this process.
But we’re not done yet, and I’m not going to stop until I see that 750th pre-order come in. We have 68 days to bring in 500 more pre-orders, and mark my words, we will do it. I’ll not allow myself the luxury of even considering the Quill option right now, because I’m not allowing myself to believe Tantalus Depths will fall short of making that goal.
Press on, my friends. We’re a third of the way there.
Tantalus Depths is only 3 pre-orders away from reaching Quill! Let’s get there tonight!
Awesome news Destiny –followers,
The ‘For the Love of Fiction Syndicate’ has selected Destiny Imperfect as their book of the month! This is fantastic news and I’d like to say thanks so much to the Syndicate for choosing this book. If you’re an Inkshares regular, then joining a syndicate like this one is a great way to meet new people and help authors get published. They really do make a difference. Follow the link above and see if it’s a syndicate you can get into!
The other good news is that Destiny Imperfect has broken through the 50 pre-order mark and is currently sitting second in the Inkshares/Nerdist contest. You guys rock! More than 50 pre-orders in a little over a week is sensational. But I still need all the help I can get as there are a bunch of excellent books right behind. If you are following Destiny Imperfect, I’d love it if you could pre-order and keep us ahead of the pack. It’d also be great if you could share the love and recommend it to friends and family.
Thanks again to the ‘For the Love of Fiction Syndicate’ and have a great day!
Cheers,
Peter
Good afternoon Dreamers,
It is time for a non-update update. Thanks to the shares, recommendations, reviews, blog posts, interviews, syndicate pick, and pre-orders, The Sleeping Man has sold over 162 copies! 163 to be specific. This means we’re still above the projection to reach the goal of 750, and we’re definitely going to hit Quill. I’m constantly giving cards to my daughter to give to strangers (I ain’t above it and who is going to refuse her?), matching with people on Tinder and demanding they pre-order, and saying, "Bloody Mary" fives times into every mirror with my tablet in hand so she can pre-order.
It’s working, because we are crushing it. So many people are buying more than one copy as well and I cannot thank you enough for that because the numbers are going crazy. If you haven’t left a review, I would appreciate one. If you haven’t recommended The Sleeping Man, I would appreciate that as well. Lastly, if you haven’t pre-ordered, please pre-order. If you have pre-ordered, please pre-order again, here’s a list of useful things you can do with extra copies:
1. Hold a copy in each hand and read one with each eye to see which one is faster.
2. Create a book fort to protect your dreams.
3. Level a table.
4. Give one to someone you like.
5. Give one to someone you don’t like.
6. Check to see that each printed copy is the exact same and there are no discrepancies between copies.
7. Launch several into varying directions in space to teach aliens the English language.
...And many more!
Thanks again,
Stephen
Two updates in the same day? Indeed! I have fabulous news! Jump the Gun is the June syndicate pick for Write Out Loud and I couldn’t be happier or more proud of that.
We also hit a little milestone on the long way to publishing: 50 copies sold!
I want to take the time to thank a few people who’ve helped get me to this point: first and always, RH Webster, who has been invaluable in keeping my spirit up, Ricardo Henriquez, who threw the entire weight of his syndicate behind this story, James Rasile, Joni Dee, Elayna Mae Darcy, and of course every single one of you who’s put their trust in me by pre-ordering this fantastic adventure.
I’d also like to put the link to Dakota’s beautiful art here again so you can access it right from your email: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n2uyb2n4bm9mpdn/Suaine-comm.jpg?dl=0
If you haven’t pre-ordered, now’s the time. Also, make your friends, family and pets buy the book, too. I’m going to announce a raffle for referrers sometime next week and it will be a culinary delight.
Hello, Inkshare homies!
Just wanted to extend a HUGE thanks to all of you for your support thus far! The video game contest is chugging along nicely and I couldn’t have done it without your help!
Also, today is June 8th...it’s my BIRTHDAY!!! I’m 29 years young. To be honest, I miss 28. 28 is a nice, round, sexy number, with lots of swirls and curls. 29 is different and jarring; it feels like I’m in the middle of a gunfight and I’m down to one last bullet, with a giant 3-0 looming ominously on the horizon, waiting for me to empty my clip so it can swallow me whole! But regardless, YOU can help make my birthday fantastic my spreading the word about SideScroller to anyone you know who loves reading or video games or reading things ABOUT video games.
Thanks again for your support, everybody, and I’ve got more SideScroller surprises coming soon!
Cheers,
Andrew Fantasia
