Happy Friday!!!
Congratulations to the winners of the Geek & Sundry Fantasy Contest: Helena Echlin and Malena Watrous with Sparked, Allison Griner with Storm Song, and Jeyna Grace with The Slave Prince.
Also, congratulations to all those who participated in the contest! You took one giant leap towards achieving a dream. Even if you didn’t win or didn’t make Quill, you tried. I hope you keep trying and that you never give up. If you are passionate about something, if you love your story - tell it. There are a variety of ways you can do that if Inkshares doesn’t work out for you, and I’d be happy to share that knowledge with you. I know how hard it is to get people to invest in your book, and that the number of people you have in your network willing to invest in you can’t be the sole determining factor in the fate of a dream. If that were the case, there would be a lot of failed dreams in this world. Chin up. Keep moving forward. Never stop striving for what makes you happy.
The Living God finished 9th and currently stands at 255 orders. We’ve made Quill. It’s getting published with limited release on Amazon. (YAY!) Slowly but surely I’m going to try to make it to the 750. However, I’m going to take a bit of time off from trying to get supporters and focus on finishing the covers for those who supported the book during the contest.
AND! It is NaNoWriMo! I’ll be participating in NaNoEdMo (National Novel Editing Month)... I don’t think it actually exists and is a thing, or perhaps it does and is just a different month, but this month is NaNoEdMo for me. I wish those who are participating all the luck and sanity during this insane and wonderous month.
Have a great weekend everyone!
100 followers and 85 pre-orders as of 12pm today!
Just wanted to extend another quick note of hearty thanks! PHANTOM is now in the Top 3 books of the Launchpad Competition, but it needs to stay there in order to win! Please recommend, forward to friends who might enjoy it, and continue boosting the signal, even if you’ve already placed your order! I’m so appreciative of all the love and can’t wait to get this story out into the world.
Liz
8th place! I’m absolutely chuffed with that, dear readers.
To have placed in the top 10 of a contest full of wonderful stories and equally wonderful authors is a real honour.
Though Witherfist didn’t place high enough to win the contest, the book’s funding campaign continues. The funding period for Witherfist ends on December 31st, so I will be doing everything I can until that date to ensure that the book reaches at least 250 preorders. I would love to hit the full publication threshold of 750 preorders, but to reach that level, I’d need a lot of help from all of you fantastic people who make Inkshares such an incredible, supportive community.
I hope to have a book trailer video to share with you soon, but in the meanwhile - please continue to share Witherfist with anyone that you think might be interested in preordering.
~ Jenny
PS. There’s one other contest I haven’t fogotten about! I’ve contacted the two winners of the Amazon voucher giveaway and am just waiting on confirmation of their details, to send out the vouchers.
Hello magical readership!
To celebrate and thank you all for helping PHANTOM pass the 50 PRE-ORDERS MARK (horray!), I’m uploading a new chapter slightly ahead of schedule. And it’s probably one of my favorite segments in the whole book - Seicha is about to face her deepest fears head-on and enter the Underworld, a place no mortal being has ever set foot before. Things are about to get weird, in all the greatest ways. And I can’t wait to share all that impending weirdness with you!
There’s not much time left in the Launchpad competition, and we’re still languishing right behind the Top 3 - but not too far behind! With everyone’s support, recommendations, and just a few more pre-orders, we’ll be in great shape as the deadline approaches. Thank you again for all your excitement and encouragement!
Love,
Liz
Good evening from Tasmania!
Tonight marks the end of day fourteen in The Launchpad Manuscript Competition (crowdfunding stream) and the funding campaign for Human Resources. As I’ve mentioned before, this is a short competition compared to others Inkshares runs, so there is now only seven days left!
Thank you everyone who has pre-ordered, written a review or recommendation, or shared the project on social media. Your support has been amazing — as a direct result, Human Resources is doing well in a competition packed with talent.
We have now entered the stage where most campaigns settle in for the long haul — a regular crowdfunding campaign on Inkshares is three months. However, with such a short competition window, we will be sprinting all the way to the finish. Keep up the great work — I still need your help!
For those of you who haven’t pre-ordered yet, but are considering it, I’d love the opportunity to convince you before the end of the competition. There are eight excerpts on the project page for you to read, and I’m happy to chat online!
This week, I wanted to reward you all for the hard work and support you have provided me. I’ve been scouring the available research, and can now pull back a little of the curtain shrouding the world of Human Resources. Below is your explainer on the vampires of HR.
Have a great night,
Robert

Friends, Readers, and Sorcerers All,
WE DID IT!
We hit 250 pre-orders! Actually, as I type this, we’re at 261. Not quite enough to win the Geek and Sundry contest, but enough to guarantee publication. No matter what else happens, SORCERY FOR BEGINNERS will be printed and available for sale on Amazon. How do I feel about this?
Seriously, I am overwhelmed by the support you’ve all shown me and this book in the last month. Some of you are family. Some of you I haven’t seen in over ten years. Some of you are complete strangers. But from now on, I consider all of you friends and rock stars. A thousand thank yous are not enough.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
The contest may be over, but the crowd-funding period continues until January 1. If we can get to 750 pre-orders by then, Inkshares will put full marketing and distribution
support behind SORCERY FOR BEGINNERS. So keep mentioning it to friends and spreading the word, it helps us out a ton!
BUT WHEN WILL YOU GET YOUR BOOK?
Not until 2017, I’m afraid. When, I’m not exactly sure yet. One of the reasons I chose to publish with Inkshares is that SORCERY has a heavy design element. So we have to get notes from an editor, create around 30 illustrations, design a cover, and format every page to look like a "For Dummies" guide. I want to create something for you guys that looks really cool and different, but to do that will take a little time.
However -- if you’d like to read SORCERY earlier, simply let me know and I will send you a PDF of the full manuscript. I’ll probably make some edits myself before sending it to Inkshares, but I can send a PDF by Christmas for those who are interested.
Again, I’d like to take a moment to thank all of you for your support and friendship. Crowd-funding this book was one of the more scary things I’ve done, and your encouragement kept me going. Because of you, a book I wrote will be published and put into the world. Just knowing you have my back makes me want to be a better writer, and give you something you’ll really enjoy.
On top of that, you guys raised $570 for breast cancer prevention over the last three days! I know Jeannine and all the other cancer fighters out there will appreciate it. Thanks again, and I’ll be in touch soon --
