Hello backers and supporters!
Fae Child will have been out in the world for a month on January 15th, and I couldn’t be more pleased. You should have received your copies (ebook or paperback) of the book by now, and if you are still waiting for a paperback or not sure if you ordered a paperback just email me and I can check your order for you.
Thank you for making this possible! In a month I have sold nearly the same amount it took me six months to crowdfund. Amazing!
Amazon is running a sale on the paperback for $7.59 right now, which is a fantastic deal and I encourage you to jump on it if you want a copy to hold in your hands (or to give to a friend!). Look at that cover art -- how could you not? I do not know how long this sale will last, as Amazon sets its own prices.
Once you’ve read Fae Child (and I hope you’re reading it now!), please please please log in to Amazon and leave a review. It could just be "I liked it a lot!"-- there’s no need to think you have to have paragraphs or fancy reasoning to justify your star ratings. The book is sitting at 9 reviews right now, and I’d love it if we could bump that way up. (In contrast, we have 70 ratings and 60 reviews on Goodreads, which is very exciting.)
The SEQUEL is underway, and I am nearing completion on the first draft. I would love for Inkshares to publish THE FURIOUS HOST, and I have entered it in their current competition. It is open for preorders but you don’t have to preorder to support it in the competition. Just click this link: [The Furious Host] , sign into your Inkshares account, and FOLLOW the book, and (after you’ve read Fae Child) READ the sample chapters!
Pre-ordering would also be wonderful, if you want to reserve your copy of The Furious Host (The Fae Child Trilogy Book Two) in advance. Thank you for your support.
Additionally, I have written a short story that takes place before the events of Fae Child, detailing how Nadiene and Charles met for the first time. THICK AS THIEVES is published in the Passageways anthology, for sale now! If you pick it up, let me know how you like it/leave a review.
Thank you so much for all your support,
Jane-Holly Meissner
Inkshares Update: January 7th, 2021
It’s been eight months since my last update and I keep clicking my heels together and still flying monkeys rain down upon us spewing their virulent exhortations. Anyway, without rehashing the obvious that we’re all living, I did want to bring to your attention that Dean Fearce hasn’t given up. MINE is at this point in time still a viable work in progress and I thank you one and all for your patience and support. If something truly remarkable changes in the manuscript’s status, you will be the first to know. But do know this: I’ve produced another one-hundred thousand words in a single document and they are far better with more amazing characteristics than any previous thousands upon thousands of words I’ve strung together, creating multitudinous documents before they went to their final resting place at the bottom of a litter box. Requiesce in pace. But, that’s just my opinion so we shall wait upon the prophecy as foretold by the man behind the curtain to reveal the true nature of such a thing. You see, writing is easy. Creating delightful characters is harder. Stringing chapters together with continuity and a plot line that serves those characters with an arc that truly delivers them somewhere over the rainbow is harder still. I won’t even bring up those wicked witch revisions. And yes I do go on. It amuses me. I do so hope it amuses you but I still have my day job in any event. Hope you are safe and healthy and I love you all. Now go follow those writers in the 2020 All-Genre Manuscript Contest. Oh-Ee-Yah! Ee-Oh-Ah!
Happy New Years Everyone!!
New year, new campaign. That’s right. I’m going into this campaign full tilt. We have a new, super cool book cover up on the page right now, made by my good friend, Shawna Ray. It’s beautiful and you should check it out.
And over the holiday, we reached 25 orders. As promised, I’ve posted Chapter Three to note the milestone. Give it a read if you’re eager for more adventures with the Knights.
Now time for the BIG announcement. I’m starting a CAMPAIGN RAFFLE CONTEST!! The prizes will be broken up into three tiers.
Tier One: Followers Prize : Beyond the Masquerade Tote Bag - Draw will be made for every 50 followers.
Tier Two: Share and Recommendation Prize : Beyond the Masquerade Coffee Mug - Draw will be made for every 50 shares or recommendation.
Tier Three: Pre-Order Prize : Beyond the Masquerade Blanket - Draw will be made for every 50 pre-orders.
Pictures of the prizes and new cover will be posted on the Beyond the Code Facebook page and the winner of the first Followers prize will be posted later today. Cross your fingers.
Thank you all for following and good luck in the hopefully many contest draws to come.

Good morning! (Or afternoon, as the case may be). I hope this finds you well and you are enjoying the Holiday Season, however you chose to observe it.
If you are receiving this update, it means that you kindly came and followed The Crucible Tree in recent weeks as part of the new contest by my publisher, Inkshares. Thank you very much for doing so.
As we look to the release next summer of my first book, Bane of All Things, doing well in this contest is an excellent way to drive some vital publicity. The contest currently has 200+ entries, drawing thousands of new visitors to Inkshares’ website. These are all potential buyers for Bane of All Things. For Inkshares to agree to publish a second book, sales of the first must of course be strong.
So, if you haven’t already and have a little time during this holiday season, it would be awesome if you could read my sample chapters for The Crucible Tree and post a short review or recommendation. This activity also helps to boost me up the contest standings. And if you could muster anyone else in your household to join the cause, too, that would be fantastic!
Best wishes and a Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!
I have some fantastic news! Beyond the Masquerade has been named Decembers pick with the Break the Bechdel with Strong Female Characters Syndicate. It’s such an honor to be recognized by this syndicate and the awesome women who run it.
But even though this was a big step up, we still have a long way to go, and in the new year, I’ll be making some changes to the campaign. Make sure to follow, share, and pre-order if you like what you see. Thank you all for your support.

Hello!
We are just about a month away from the publication of When Force Meets Fate. I’m happy to report that everything is moving along smoothly. We have sent off advanced copies to reviewers, and the book already has almost 50 reviews on Goodreads with an average of 4.85 stars: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55659364-when-force-meets-fate
In a couple weeks, shortly after the holidays, you too will get your copy of the book. Because you were among the first to preorder it, we are going to send your copy out before the official release date of January 26th. So you should get your copy a week or two before that. For that reason, it is important that you make sure the address on your Inkshares account is accurate. If you’ve moved in the last year or your address is incorrect, here are the steps to change it:
If you have trouble, reach out to me or Inkshares at hello@inkshares.com
More good news: We are finishing up the audiobook now, which should be available for preorder in early January.
Lastly, I just want to say that I will always be grateful to you for ordering the book before it was finished, for trusting that it would one day become a tangible thing.
I am going to add everyone who preordered the book on Inkshares to my email list, so you will receive a welcome message soon. If you wish not to receive my emails, feel free to unsubscribe, but you may want to stay subscribed for future updates on the book and my recovery.
Thank you again and happy holidays!
Jamison
Thank you all for the support of INFODEMIC.
If you have five minutes, I’d love to hear what you think of the first five chapters. Could you write a REVIEW on the Inkshares site and/or SHARE the book using the "Share" link on the Inkshares page? This is especially helpful for the contest rankings. :)
I’m linking to the chapters below for easy access.
Best regards,
Stephen
