I apologize for sending you two emails in a row, but we did it! Fae Child has hit the 250+ threshold for Quill publishing!
This is going to be a real, live, book. Thank you so much - I’m in a little bit of a daze right now! I will update in a week or so with what happens after the preorder campaign is over.
Thank you again!Jane-Holly
Just a quick update to say: YOU ROCK!
Fae Child is SIX orders away from securing a place in Quill, Inkshares’ light publishing imprint. I almost can’t believe it. There are five days left in my preorder campaign - the one I started in August 2016 as part of the Geek & Sundry Fantasy contest, without any idea what I was going. Once Fae Child reaches 250+ orders, it will become just the tenth book from that contest to earn publishing. And that is thanks to YOU. I didn’t place in the contest, but I kept going, and look at where we are now!
Thank you so much to all my backers and readers - I couldn’t do this without you.
11 days remaining.
54 orders to go until guaranteed publication.
Can we do it? Yes we can! Spread the word - we need all the help we can get to conquer the mountain we’re climbing right now.
I am also really excited to announce that Fae Child was selected by two more syndicates! The Write Out Loud and the Sci-Fi syndicates both picked it as their February 2017 book! I am honored and still amazed at how the Inkshares community is rallying around my book. Thank you to everyone, from the bottom of my heart.
Talk to you soon! Jane-Holly
p.s. There are a total of SIX syndicates who have picked Fae Child to support: Rite of Passage, Break the Bechdel, Staff, Fantasy, Write Out Loud, and Sci-Fi. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Two weeks to go!
If you haven’t ordered your copy of FAE CHILD your time is running out! I am so grateful and excited to report that the Fantasy Syndicate here on Inkshares has picked FAE CHILD as their book for February 2017. This is an amazing honor and I don’t want to let anyone down who has put their faith in me and my little book. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. :)
To recap: 2 weeks to go, 82 copies to sell. I’ll update again as we get closer to the deadline!
Much love, Jane-Holly
Hello Readers and Followers!
We are in the last month of my funding campaign for Fae Child. This has been a great journey - not that it’s been easy, or even fun at times - but it’s been a time of stretching who I am as a person and learning what I really want out of all this.
Obviously publication is still my goal. Fae Child will be published, I promise you that. With 93 copies left to sell and 24 days in which do to it, my confidence that Inkshares is the place where this will happen is waning. If you have been waiting to swoop in and order at the last second, like Gandalf the White riding in to Helm’s Deep to save the day, then now is the time! Preorder your copy!
I will remind you that Fae Child has been backed by three syndicates here on Inkshares. The last thing I want is to fail in the face of such support. Your personal recommendations are worth their weight in gold to me, and I am incredibly grateful for (and a little in awe of) all the reviews and recommendations Fae Child has already gotten. Thank you.
If you haven’t ordered yet, please consider doing so! The campaign will end on Feb 28th and refunds will be going out in March if we do not hit at least 250 orders before then.
Thank you again, for all your support. I can’t do this, and couldn’t have come this far, without you.
It is a new year! I hope 2017 finds you happy and healthy. Fae Child is sitting at 152 copies sold, which blows my mind (in a good way), but there’s still a long way to go. 98 copies to pre-sell before the end of February, which, I don’t need to tell you, is only a month away, and the shortest month of the year.
I am doing a Twitter takeover for Young Entertainment Magazine ( @youngentmag ) tomorrow about my experiences as a first time author, which should be entertaining at the very least. If you don’t follow me on Twitter, my handle is @hanejolly - I look forward to seeing you there!
Progress on the first draft is continuing on pace. I’m very happy with how things are turning out, and I think you will be too.
Lastly, I have a favor to ask of you. Can you send one friend an email about Fae Child? Here’s a sample email you can copy/customize for your own use:
Hi (insert name)! I just pre-ordered a new YA fantasy book called Fae Child. It’s a sweet, exciting book about a girl who accidentally falls into the land of the Fae, and her father who will stop at nothing to find her. You can read some sample chapters, view a book trailer, and order a copy at https://www.inkshares.com/books/fae-child I really think you’ll like it!Cheers,(your name)
