Chapter 2 Jane Doe 404 felt a little strange waking up to find herself in a hospital bed with a strange old man dressed in a nurse uniform sitting next to her bed. He stares at her for a few seconds as she has a very tight grip on his hand. Mark barely manages to break free and he quickly removes the syringe needle from the girl’s arm and runs out of the hospital room like a bat out of hell. My name is Cory Potts and according to my medical chart and the calendar on the wall. I just woke up from being in a deep coma for the past three years. The last thing I remember before my deep sleep was fighting for my life against a psychopath on an old abandoned Bridge in New Jersey. Let’s just say that fighting for my life against psychos has become a common theme in my life. I’m a sociopath myself, not to be confused with psychopath. Psychopaths are born with there moral compasses broken and sociopaths, well we are made into what we are and our moral compasses had gotten broken along the way. Normally when I get myself in a new adventure my normal protocol is to tell everyone my backstory or get into my origin but since I’m not sure how I got here exactly, you just have to bear with me for now. Four nurses enter the hospital room with a surprised look on there faces. That’s when Cory started to notice all the Electro sensors taped all over her body and there was two good size tubes running up inside her private parts. One of the nurses informed her later that the majority of most patience that sleep longer than several months normally don’t come out of there comas and usually die in there sleep. Cory watching the morning news as a nurse slowly and painfully removed both the tubes and all the sensors from her body. The biggest story of the day happened last night in Harlem, New York while she was having a arm wrestling match with old and creepy. Apparently a street gang known as the Mac Hustlers was throwing some kind of block party on there street and was violently attacked. The New York city police department believes the attack is the result of a rival street gang because the Mac Hustlers haves a history of violence’s toward other gangs in the neighborhood, there crimes range from drug dealing to gun running and the Mac Hustlers is believed to be responsible for a number of murders. The news is calling the slaying the worst in New York City history only second to the 911 terrorist attacks as the body count so far is up to 53 for now and it could end up being much higher. Most of the bodies of the victims looked to of been ripped to pieces. The police is currently searching for the leader of the Mac Hustlers who goes by the name K-dog for questioning. The news reporter on the television scene questions a witness that calmed to have seen what happened from her third story apartment window last night. She said the attackers were these dark shadowy figure that looked like demons. “looks like someone was smoking there crack pipe late last night” said the nurse with a laugh. Cory found herself not sharing the same opinion as the nurses or the news report that seem to make a mockery out of the witnesses story. “I’ve seen a person get possess before” said Cory looking at the nurse that cracked the joke with a straight face. “how do you know that person wasn’t faking it” ask the nurse firing back at Cory’s clam with sarcasm. “because that person was me” said Cory wait to see how the nurse would reaction to what she said. The nurse just remain rudely silent. Cory realizes that she been awake for several hours now and haven’t heard one peek from her alter ego and she wondered if her three year nap had free her from her demon. “any idea when I can leave this place” ask Cory trying to break the nurse’s rude silence. “that will be up to the doctors” answered the nurse in a unfriendly tone. Cory found herself staring at the television screen once again watching the news story. Cory suddenly become intrepid with the ideal of visiting her home state of New York and taking up demon hunting. It sounded both dangerous and fun at the same time. The only problems Cory saw with this crazy ideal of a quest would be how does one kill a demon.
