By Csuri and Rohvana’s union, Rohvana birthed five daughters.
Each were given a land of their own to cultivate as their parent’s had.
The first daughter was named Nyss, and to her Rohvana offered the world and for themselves they chose the cold, beauty of the northernmost lands.
The second daughter was named Ys, and to her Csuri offered the world and for themselves they chose the vast, dry lands to the east.
The third daughter was named Ifrane, and to her Rohvana offered the world and for themselves they chose the wildlands to the west.
The fourth and fifth daughters were named Stychia and Nira, and to them Csuri offered the world and for themselves they chose to take the lush north and south to share between them.
Each of their daughters was a demi-god as the Fae crafted by Auri and Csveti were, but were not Dae as Csuri and Rohvana. They were known as Humans, though they were different from those who came after them. They would be known as the Daughters.
None of the Daughters were capable of doing as Csuri or Rohvana could and shape the world.
And so to each of the Daughters, Auri blessed a gift to keep them from the sorrows that had taken Csuri and Rohvana.
To Nyss, who loved the many animals of her lands, Auri gifted five new pets and taught them how to train and tame the wild animals.
To Ys, who loved her sisters and wished to see the world, Auri shaped an underworld passageway between the seven underground fortresses that rest upon the ley reservoirs. These fortresses became known as Vaults and Ys was given responsibility over them.
To Ifrane, who desired to shape her lands as her mothers had, Auri taught her how to commune with the Fae and how to use magic. Though it would never be as powerful as Csuri’s or Rohvana’s, it was enough to shape the continent in small ways.
To Stychia, who loved to build new things, Auri taught her engineering and science and gave her a hammer that could forge from the Aether new materials.
To Nira, who loved to collect new things, Auri taught her the knowledge of life-binding and gave to her a necklace capable of binding life-energy into those things she collected so as to preserve them.
Nyss, who loved the many animals of her lands, spent her time venturing across her land with her pets and trained and tamed the wild animals that she encountered.
She was given five pets by Auri, unique and beautiful amongst their own kind and that preferred the company of Nyss. It was not long before Nyss, lonely in the cold northern lands enjoyed their company as well.
To her pet Wolf, Nyss bore her first daughter, Vykana.
Vykana, brave, fierce and born with beautiful silver hair, was given the wolflands and became steward of the wolves that dwelled there. Vykana was the first of the Nyssan People, and by the nature of her birth was born with two forms; that of a human and that of a wolf, and so had the ability to shift between them.
To her pet Stag, Nyss bore her second daughter, Zaih.
Zaih, noble, stalwart and who grew fine white antlers as she grew, was given the deerlands and became steward of the reindeer that dwelled there. Zaih was much like her sister, by nature having the ability to shift between her two forms; human and reindeer.
To her pet Lynx, Nyss bore her third daughter, Ami.
Ami, cunning, mischievous and born with bright gold eyes, was given the catlands and became steward of the tigers, lynx and panthers that dwelled there. Ami was much like her sisters, by nature having the ability to shift between her two forms; human and lynx.
To her pet Raven, Nyss bore her fourth daughter, Ryvi.
Ryvi, wise, stoic and who grew feathers instead of hair, was given the sky pillars and became watcher over the birds that nested there. Ryvi was much like her sisters, by nature having the ability to shift between her two forms; human and raven.
To her pet Bear, Nyss bore her fifth daughter, Urse.
Urse, strong, wild and born and born twice the size of her sisters, was given the icelands where the bears hibernated through the winters. Urse was much like her sisters, by nature having the ability to shift between her two forms; human and bear.
After the birth of Urse, Nyss had no more daughters by her pets. Her daughters, the first Nyssans, however bore many children by the wild animals of their kind, thus beginning the tribes of the Nyssan people.
Ys, who loved her sisters and desired to explore the varied lands of the world, spent much of her time doing so. She ventured from her own lands and spent most of her time away from the deserts her had been given to shape returning only one month of the year to see the rains.
It was not that she disliked her home, it was that she had seen it all in her youth and favoured time with her sisters - particularly Stychia. The two spent many years together and by Stychia, Ys bore her first child, Eoucia.
Eoucia, the first of Ys’ daughters was given dominion to watch over her lands in her stead while she explored the world. They dwelled within the Vaults and spent much of their time learning from the knowledge their mother stored in them. And so when Ys had moved on to Nyss and bore a second daughter, Eoucia did not argue when that daughter was given claim to the far northern lands of Ys’ domain.
By Nyss, Ys bore a second daughter, F’esat whom was given dominion over the northern regions of the lands. They dwelled within the mountains and spent much of their time carving grand halls to live in and got along well with their sister.
Ys by this time had moved on to be with Ifrane, by whom she bore Auel. Auel was given the lands of the west, those closest to Stychia’s lands. They dwelled upon the coast and spent much of their time gazing out upon the lands of their aunts in Nira and Stychia, and were reclusive to their own sisters for many years. It was the birth of another sister that brought them closer.
By Nira, Ys bore a fourth daughter, I’elae whom was given dominion over the central riverlands that snaked into the continent’s heart. They dwelled upon the shores of the rivers and upon them built great cities and invited their sisters to stay with them. Both Auel and F’esat ventured to join them, but Eoucia was lost within the knowledge of the vaults and spent much of her time studying or wandering the deserts.
Eoucia was alone for a long time, at least until Ys bore their last daughter, a small and weak child known as Lit. Unlike the others, Lit was not given dominion over land, she was destined to die of poor health - something which pained Ys greatly.
Eoucia, however took it upon themselves while her sister’s grieved in I’elae’s cities to save Lit and by the knowledge of their studies Eoucia was the first alchemist. Having no creative magic, Eoucia instead created magic for herself by way of knowledge, and by way of alchemy she cured her ailing sister.
In gratitude, Ys gave to Eoucia all the vaults in their stead and asked of their mothers to raise Eoucia as a demigod of knowledge. Eoucia declined and instead disappeared to focus on their own works, leaving the last of the lands of Ys’ realms to Lit - the only one to know where Eoucia went.
Amongst themselves the daughters of Ys bore children, and those children formed the first tribes of the land. Auel, I’elae and F’esat came together to form their tribes and established their tribes upon their lands. Eoucia and Lit came together to form their tribes and established their tribes upon their lands.
Of all of the sisters, Eoucia and Lit remained the closest, and while the others grew distant, Lit and Eoucia did not.
Ifrane, who desired to shape her lands as her mothers had shaped the world was given the knowledge of the leylines. For many long decades she ventured along them, side by side with Ys whose underworld they followed.
Along these leylines the aether was channeled into the heart of the world. The greatest of the power in the aether pooled beneath the vaults and it was this that drove Ifrane to visit other lands.
Without the creative magic of her parents, Ifrane learned to bend her arcane - the energy that holds the body together - so as to manipulate the elements around her, and upon the leylines she could use this to create new energies. In this, Ifrane became the first of the mancers, those who wield the non-divine arcane magics.
Ifrane created for herself a small home upon the focus of the leylines in her lands - a place she called Vao, and as it sat upon a vault she had access to her wandering sisters whom visited. She watched as their families grew and she was disinterested in the pains herself but saw the joy it brought them.
So from the elements, Ifrane forged her daughters and asked her mothers to bless them with true life. So they did.
From earth, Ifrane forged Niyin, whose strength brought low mountains. It was Niyin who first planted crops and shared the knowledge with their cousins.
From water, Ifrane forged Asun, whose beauty made the tides swell. It was Asun who first built ships to cross the seas, and who thought nothing of sharing this with the world.
From fire, Ifrane forged Akrasi, whose ferocity made stone melt. It was Akrasi who first brought war to Humanity, and whose ideas established the laws of combat for all of history.
From air, Ifrane forged Nali, whose grace slipped by the wind. It was Nali who first sailed the winds and brought navigation to the world.
From metal, Ifrane forged Xansi, whose tenacity conquered even volcanos. It was Xansi who first minted currency for commerce and gave industry to the world.
For each of her children, Ifrane built the elementals - constructs of pure elemental energy - in visage of the Fae and by which her children would bear their tribes. Save for Akrasi and Asun, who would fall in love and have no tribes for water and fire do not mix.
Asun was adored by her sisters, but Akrasi was not for she burned like wildfire and had a mind only calmed by Asun’s love. Niyin and Nali had sympathy and love for their sister. Akrasi’s mind was as bright as the sun but was clouded by sorrows. In the moments of clarity none could surpass her in wit, but when distorted she lacked the energy to act.
Xansi believed Akrasi unstable, and saw Asun as wasting away as though oppressed by Akrasi’s condition. Xansi had a mind made for competition, one that had been forged to act for herself. And fearing what would happen if Akrasi ever broke, she worked to separate them from Asun.
So Xansi captured Akrasi and hid them away, shackled to the world itself. And all the searching that the others could do, turned up nothing, for Xansi misled them and kept Akrasi secreted away.
Asun’s heart broke from grief, Niyin and Nali tried to comfort them but little could be done. They sank into sorrow, and Xansi felt remorse for their actions. Too late did they try to fix their mistakes, for Akrasi broke free and went to be with Asun once more only to find Asun had bled themselves dry.
And from her blood, grew Asun’s tribe.
In a blind rage, Akrasi turned upon Xansi and Xansi fled to the edges of the continent with Akrasi in pursuit. Only for Xansi to throw themselves into the sea to escape Akrasi’s wrath. But Akrasi fished them out and sat them upon the shore, they embraced them and forgave them before leaving them there. And upon the coast, Xansi’s body rusted.
Akrasi, so stricken by grief set herself on fire and burned away to ashes. And from the ashes grew her tribe,
And so only Niyin and Nali remained to watch over the lands. Their mother, Ifrane, so troubled by what had happened, visited her mothers and asked for their blessing once more and so Rohvana gave to them the arcanes of their lost daughters and secured them in stones so that they could be reborn from one of their tribes.
Stychia, who loved to build new things, crafted for herself a city she simply called the Anvil. Using her hammer, she forged for herself a wife made with the blood of her sister Ys.
Her wife, Svear, stayed by her side and learned from her engineering and math. It was Svear who took the knowledge of Ys and the Daughters of Ifrane and gave them to Stychia. It was Svear who acted as ambassador amongst the Daughters of Csuri and Rohvana.
It was Svear who, upon seeing Stychia’s sisters bear children, convinced Stychia to fill their lands with their own tribes, but neither desired to suffer the pains, nor have children. So, instead Stychia forged six more wives; Batavia, Julka, Csapda, Hierros, Condara and Vassai.
The eight of them were happy together, but they did not wish to remain only eight. From the other lands they found new wives and from these unions grew tribes.
Stychia, happy to have their wives happy with their own wives, and to see their tribes grow, gave to her sisters her own gifts to celebrate the many unions.
For her sister Nyss, she built the port city of Juno, a great pillar to act as a meeting grounds for all of the tribes of Nyss.
For her sister Ys, she built the city of Miliri, a library of coral and marble and sapphire that rises from a lagoon and can watch out over three other continents.
For her sister Ifrane, she built for them the great bastion of Vao, a leyline focus that plunges deep into the world so that they may be surrounded by the power they sought.
And for her twin, Nira, she built two cities, the city of Jewels and the city of Iron. Bujjhat and Feiqi, both to store the vast collections that Nira adored. And in those cities she built for them thousands of new trinkets, and added to their endless collection.
Nira, who loved to collect things, spent many years doing just that. From all the many lands of the world. It was not until her twin, Stychia, built for her a place to house her collections that she realised that in her pursuit of objects of interest, she had missed something she wanted more than anything else.
Nira desired children, but the idea of physical intimacy greatly repulsed her. She had been intimate only with her older sister Ys and had no strong desire to do so again.
Stychia, in an effort to help, created for her many objects to replace the void not realising that it was not the act of intimacy Nira desired but the outcome of it.
Yet, Stychia had given her a great gift for in trying to preserve the new objects, she discovered that she could bear children by them.
From each of the dozens of toys she bore children, and she created more. From every material she bore a child, and as Stychia brought her new gifts she bore children by those as well.
Nira bore a thousand daughters by five different materials; Jewels, Spices, Woods, Stones and Metals.
From the five materials grew the five tribes of Nira. And content, Nira locked herself away within the walled city of Feiqi where she could watch her children grow.
Rohvana was not free of the lusts that came to her daughters, for she was Csuri’s heart and so had been given their passion and gave that passion to their daughters.
As She and Csuri journeyed the world, she bore five new daughters that would become known as the Rohvanese.
Arca the Black, whose hair was so dark that the stars mistook it for the midnight skies. She was born of Rohvana’s union with Vykana, the first daughter of Nyss.
Seya the White, who was so beautiful that she made snow blush when it beheld her. She was born of Rohvana’s union with Lit, the youngest daughter of Ys.
Feya the Red, who was so bold that fire dare not burn her not water dare to wet her. She was born of Rohvana’s union with Nali, daughter of Ifrane.
Kyci the Blue, who made water wetter by their compliments. She was born of Rohvana’s union with Svear, the first and most beloved wife of Stychia.
Xho the Green, whose tender step did not harm the grass and whose breath did not stir dust motes. She was born of the jewels given to Rohvana by Nira.
To them Stychia offered them land of her own, long before she created her second wife.
With new land, the five decided to divide it as their cousins had and not rule it together. Yet none could agree on how it should be divided for the lands would not be broken fairly into fifths.
It was Arca the Black that offered a solution to their problem.
Each would draft their own maps and then each would make a sacrifice to pay for that land. For if they would make the sacrifice, they would prove how much they desired the land. Each of them gave the greatest piece of themselves to gain the land they desired most, except for Arca whom had proposed the solution to portray the absurdity of their arguments.
Seya the White, the first to sacrifice, cut from herself the emotions of hate and bliss. Feya the Red cut from herself the emotions of fear and greed. Kyci the Blue cut from herself the emotions of pride and lust. Xho the Green cut from herself the emotion of hope.
Arca did not sacrifice anything, and despite having realised Arca’s intent, the sisters felt ashamed for falling for their own hubris and so clung to their own lands and raised their own tribes with foreign wives. Arca however was left to roam, and in her roaming she gathered the disaffected of the world and formed from them her own tribe.
Of the Generations, Auri and Csveti were the first, Csuri and Rohvana were the second, the Daughters were the third, their daughters and the second daughters of Rohvana were the fourth.
Upon the advent of the fifth generation, a great change became apparent amongst the tribes of the Daughters. Until this moment in time, the Dae and the Humans had been immortal, but those born of the second generation were not.
Unsure of the reason, it became clear that there should be moral groundings for the society in an attempt to avoid this bane from getting any worse. Though society had developed a code of ethics, it was deemed necessary it be expanded.
Of those who died, Rohvana sealed their arcane within stones as she had done for the lost daughters of Ifrane, and yet they were unable to return as Ifrane’s daughters could. So it was that Auri created for them a realm to dwell in until this problem was solved.
It was not the only problem of the fifth generation however. Some were born strange and unlike their sisters. Unable to bear children and with parts that were not as they should be.
In many years after the first notice of them their numbers swelled and by the sixth generation it became apparent that many of those not of this strange new form were unable to bear children. It was not until the seemingly broken men began unions that they overcame this and by the seventh generation there were none able to bear child with their own kind.
So society became split between these two strange beings; dividing man into woman and vyman.
Human, or Man, refers to all those descended of Rohvana.
The Dae are Auri, Csveti, Csuri and Rohvana. Auri and Csveti are to be known as the Lovers or the Prime Dae.
The Daughters are those born of Rohvana, thus being; Nyss, Ys, Ifrane, Stychia and Nira.
The Primogenitors are those born of the Daughters, or created directly by the Daughters and thus includes the daughters of Ifrane and the wives of Stychia.
Those born of the Primogenitors are the first mortal humans, the fifth generation and beyond. They are divided between the female and cumale, the woman and the vyman and are collectively referred to as man, men or male.
Women, or woman or female, are those that should be capable of bearing children by their nature, including those who have lost this ability through age or injury.
Vymen, or vyman or cumale, are those that are incapable of bearing children by their nature.
