Mary Connor carried a small purse with her whenever she went out. It was a pleasant blue colour that did well to compliment her traditional green blazer. In it she carried a make-up kit, her wallet, and a neat pocket size bible with gilded pages. Now, as you may already know, Ms. Connor was certainly not a Christian woman. Mary carries this bible because on the first page there is a note written that goes;
To my Dearest Larissa,
May faith find you always, and swiftly bring you back to my arms.
I love you,
Richard
Ms. Connor never knew a Richard. She had found the bible on the bus one day, and now she keeps it as a good luck charm. As a hope, that one day she will find someone who will love her as much as Richard loves Larissa.
She’d carried that bible for nineteen years.
