Our whole world blows up

When we sat down and started talking about where we had been, I thought, “If I have powers, maybe she does too?”

“I have powers. I can fly, jump high, run really fast, I’m super strong, I can also turn invisible.”

She didn’t seem shocked, so that was a good thing. “I can do those things too, it’s just that I can’t fly, but I can control fire, lightning, and water.” She shot a water ball at a chair and flipped it.

She told me that she was hungry, so I made her a chicken sandwich. While she was eating, I told her, “Mom died.” She gave me a look that told me, “Not now.” I got the message loud and clear. I looked at the clock; it read 10:09 p.m. I told her that she could sleep in my bed while I slept on the floor.

“Okay, I haven’t slept in a bed since I was eight; I always slept on the ground,” she said. I didn’t even bother to ask why she slept on the ground. While I slept on the floor, I had a dream. In my dream I saw a man in a silvery suit; he was chained up in what looked like a dungeon. I couldn’t see his face, because it was too dark, but I could tell he was my dad.

“Dad” I yelled. He looked up and he said “Son…” He sounded ill.

“I’m trapped here on our home planet Super X. We are all being hunted. You need to take your sister and run. Go to Tennessee. That’s all I can give you. They’ll  help you there.”

“Dad, who will help us?” I asked him, he didn’t answer. Then, everything went dark and I woke up to what sounded like gunshots. My sister was yelling at me, telling me “GET UP! WE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!” I nodded and got off of the floor and we ran out the back door. We kept on running until I felt a sharp pain in my arm, I looked at where the pain was coming from, but there was nothing there. So I looked at my sister’s arm and saw she has been shot. I told her to stop. She looked at her arm.

“I’m okay.” She said. Sure enough, she was. Her arm was already starting to heal. We heard an explosion from behind us and saw our house blow up. We kept on running until we got to a bus stop, bought tickets, and hopped on the bus to Tennessee.
