Hello followers of “Hiding Among the Stars”, thank you for the support.
I’ve been putting off doing this because it feels a bit awkward, but it needs to be done. I’m shutting down the funding for this project for now. I’ve set an end date for five days from now. After that point, this book will go back to “draft” mode and any money you’ve put towards this book will be refunded.
What happened is that the Geek & Sundry hard-sci-fi contest happened. I felt that it was a great chance to gain attention for my other partially written book, “First on Mars,” and I was right. I don’t have enough time to split my attention between two books currently so I felt it’s not fair to continue funding this one.
It’s not the end. I do intend to get back to finishing this book and trying again with a redoubled effort to get this published. When I first started I had just joined Inkshares and had no idea what I was doing. Now I have a slightly better idea ;-)
In fact, I’ve posted Chapter 4: Wodin (a five minute read). Take a look if you’re interested. It was just gathering dust on my hard-drive.

I don’t know who to attribute, otherwise I would. (This is much bigger than what I have in mind for Eridu, it’s missing some quadcopters, and the trains aren’t right, but I love the image)
I’m basically done with the next chapter, and well into the one after that, but I feel like I’m missing something... Oh yeah, readers! I’m going to transfer more energy into getting readers and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m really not good at marketing, but I’m working on it.
By the way, I’ve been so impressed by my fellow Inkshares authors. If you need anything, want to tell me about your book, or have some advice for me, I’m landon.trine at gmail (very creative, I know).
I just posted Chapter 3! I’m really proud of it. I will warn you, it involves death, so be prepared!
Please review/comment/recommend/like/quote my book here on Inkshares - or at least tell me what I’m doing wrong if you can’t recommend me in good faith. I would be eternally grateful!
I’d also like to give something back to all of you, so I’d like to put a name in the book for all of the first 25 backers. You provide the name! (you, your pet, whatever) I have some names already picked out, but I’m not entirely happy with them. I’m talking not just about people, but about things, buildings, historical figures, and so on... So if you’ve already pre-ordered, please let me know! New pre-orders, also let me know!
