Robert Batten liked an update for Tears of the Assassin

Two things for your consideration my appreciated readers,

1. I’m loving Peter Ryan’s book, Sync City. The writing is fabulous, taut yet unhurried. The rapport between Jack and Mikey is genuine and affecting. Jack is like the John Wayne of a time-fractured future. Tough and gruff with a heart of gold.  I look forward to reading the rest of the book. You’re going to love it.

2. When you’ve finished reading Tears of the Assassin, please post a review on Amazon.  Reviews are critical to a successful campaign on Amazon. Please take a moment and post a review, the impact you will have is more than know and really valuable to the success of the book.  Thank you for your time and keep reading.  Tears of the Assassin on Amazon

Robert Batten liked an update for The Last Faoii

At ease, faoii. There are no orders tonight, only words.

I am 28 years old today.

I know it doesn’t seem like a particularly important milestone, but look around you. Somehow, in one year, we have gone from The Last Faoii sitting on my shelf, consigned to gather dust for the rest of eternity to this. An entire army of people willing to lift a blade to make sure that it becomes more than just a dream. That it becomes something real-- a sword for our daughters to wield when it seems there are no more heroines. I had given up a year ago. I knew Faoii was a story worth telling, but had lost hope that it would ever happen. It was on a whim that I decided to try Inkshares for one final charge at an unattainable victory. Who would have thought at the time that so many would come to the call?

I don’t think I ever truly expected to be where I am now. I play many roles, depending on the day. I am a mental health activist, a political blog writer, a teacher, a sign waver... and a faoii. I didn’t expect to be these things-- Blades, on many occasions I didn’t even expect to see this birthday. But now I’m here, and I am, as always, eternally grateful to be able to say that I fight many wars on many fronts-- but there is only one where so many people stand behind me in the name of a tale that no one else but us can make happen.

I know that everything seems uncertain, faoii. Inkshares can’t tell me when our story will be published or even when they’ll request the manuscript that waits so tentatively on that shelf. It would be so easy to lose hope; to regress to where we were a year ago. But we will not.

I will continue to fight for this story until there is no more breath left in my body. And I am honored to have you at my side during the battle.  In 28 years, I have never wanted to be anywhere as much as here. Shields up.

Robert Batten liked an update for Wings of the Pirate

      Hello Air Pirates,

So it looks like Wings of the Pirate is somewhere in the middle of a long list of titles waiting to be published at Inkshares.  The manuscript was polished and turned in with Illustrations back in January so I will keep on them.  Thank you for all your faith and patience with this publishing adventure.  If you like Westerns though, I just released a collection of short Western stories that is based on a Western Film I did a few years ago titled "Friend of the Devil".  It is available in hardcopy or ebook at:

      https://www.amazon.com/Short-Western-Tales-Friend-Devil/dp/1540347591/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1489541993&sr=8-3&keywords=eric+heisner

Hopefully Wings of the Pirate will be flying into your homes early this Fall...

      Sincerely, your Seaplane Captain,

Robert Batten liked an update for Sorcery for Beginners

        Friends, Readers, and Sorcerers All,

Happy Pi Day! I don’t know about you, but I aim to get at least one pie-related deal today, though I have yet to decide if it will be pizza- or dessert-based. But we also have another reason to celebrate with round carbohydrate disks -- the illustrations for the book are beginning to arrive!

The amazing Juliane Crump, who by day works as the graphic designer for TV shows such as "The Goldbergs" and "Transparent", has been slaving away to bring the words of this novel to life. We always wanted Sorcery to be very visual, like a "For Dummies" guide, and Juliane is doing a fantastic job of bring that to life. Here’s our first illustration of the book’s main character, Owen Macready:

Owen thinks he’s just an average eighth grader, even prefers it that way, but Juliane’s managed to show that he’s got lots of untapped potential. Great work Juliane!

Secondly, we are IN BOOKSTORES! At least virtually. We would love it if you would put Sorcery for Beginners on your wish lists at your favorite book outlets, or pre-order if you haven’t already. It means a lot in terms of how many orders bookstores place, and whether or not we appear in search engines and home pages. At least, that’s what I’m told, I’m not really sure how all that Interweb stuff works.

Robert Batten liked an update for Destiny Imperfect

          Greetings Destiny supporters,

The first draft of Destiny Imperfect is complete, and I’m leaving it to stew in its natural juices for a while! In a few weeks’ time, it should’ve marinated sufficiently for me to begin to blend it into shape and bring the final product closer to fruition. If you have yet to pre-order a copy, you can do so here!

In the meantime, Destiny’s stable mate, Sync City, is available to order right now! If you’re into a post-apocalyptic action-filled adventure of man and machine, then Sync City is the story for you. If you are unfamiliar with Jack and his adventures, check out the story at my website: www.synccityjack.com. If this piques your interest, then Sync City is available in all its gory glory from the places mentioned below.

The paperback version is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Book Depository. The ebook Kindle version is available for those in the US from Amazon. For non-Kindle people and those outside the US, the best place to head for the ebook is Kobo. You can also order Sync City, in paperback or ebook format, via the good people at Inkshares right here!

Don’t forget to share and enjoy your day!

          Cheers,

          Peter

Robert Batten liked an update for The Madness of Mr. Butler

THE MADNESS OF MR. BUTLER IS IN PRODUCTION!!!

            ;;;;via GIPHY;;

I got the news today that the manuscript has been sent off to my developmental editor! This is the beginning of the process of turning Mr. Butler into a tangible, readable book! I do not have many details yet, but I will soon. This begins the process of working with the editing, design, and marketing teams, and the process will take a lot of work. It’s estimated that The Madness of Mr. Butler will come out in February or March of 2018!!!

Okay...it’s starting to feel real. This is amazing. When I know more, you will.

Thank you all for your patience and support. I love you all.

            -Michael

Robert Batten liked an update for Pilot X

Hey folks, now you all were in on this well before, but the official launch date of Pilot X is tomorrow, March 14.

First of all THANK YOU. Without your support this books wouldn’t be raining down across bookstores, Kindles and Audible accounts. Y’all ROCK!

Second of all, one of those weird quirks of the industry is that it runs on reviews. Amazon reviews in particular. So if I can be pushy just this once, I want to ask you one more thing

              WRITE AN AMAZON REVIEW PLEASE?

It’s easy. Just go here: http://amzn.to/2mksOTR And scroll down to the part that says write a customer review. That’s it!

It’s way more helpful than you think to do that and costs you just a few minutes.

Oh and thanks to everybody who’s been sharing pictures of the book in book stores on Twitter and Facebook!  Keep ’em coming.

And THANK YOU again from the bottom of my heart for making Pilot X a reality.

Robert Batten liked an update for Sunshine is Forever

                Campers!

I bet you’re wondering, what’s going on with Sunshine is Forever? We are now done with Development Edits and Line Edits. The book is in the hands of the Copy Editor, and will be locked and loaded sometime in April. You will receive your book on August 29, 2017!

What happens between now and then? Between now and August we will be gathering endorsements, reviews, and purchase orders from bookstores. Inkshares will also finish the final design aspects of the book. Rest assured, even if the book is locked, there is still a ton of work to do.

In the meantime, we received our first endorsement over the weekend:

"Deep, truthful, and raw, Sunshine is Forever is a book that every school library should carry. This is my favorite book so far of 2017." — Dave Barrett, author of It’s All Fun and Games, winner of the Nerdist Collection Contest

I will keep you posted with more endorsements as we get them, but the early feedback is very promising.

Keep spreading the word and asking your friends to preorder a copy! Thank you so much for your support!
