Really exciting idea. Can’t wait to see how the contest works.

Big kudos to Inkshares for doing something that is so driven by, and for, the community :)

    Dear Inkshares Community,

We’re excited to announce what we hope will become an annual Inkshares tradition.

Each year in Hollywood, industry insiders vote for the best unproduced screenplays of the year.  The list of nominees forms The Blacklist, which was originally established (and is still operated) by Franklin Leonard.  Past nominees include Argo, Slumdog Millionaire, The King’s Speech, Juno, Spotlight, and The Revenant, just to name a few.

Revisiting amazing stories that may have gotten lost in the melee is important to Inkshares.  Accordingly, we’re excited to announce our own version of The Blacklist—simply The List, because we couldn’t decide on a color.

The 2016 List will form the basis for the final contest of the year, focused on the top-voted projects that haven’t reached full Inkshares.  This includes: drafts that have not yet gone into funding; Quill projects that haven’t reached 750 and also haven’t gone into production; and still-funding projects.  As it’s the final contest of the year, projects that are funding in another contest are eligible as well.

We collected and tabulated votes from funded authors, producers, and the Inkshares staff.  The nominations are in, and we’ll be announcing the 25 nominees for The 2016 List tomorrow at 5 pm PT.  And to add an additional level of excitement, there will be three Guest Judges, to be announced on December 1st.

Yes, really. Each of these judges will be able to select a book for publication—including a book outside the top 3, so as many as six books may end up being selected.  We know, it has us too all like:

Jokes aside, this has been an amazing year at Inkshares, with strong successes—from starred reviews to six-figure TV and film deals—for new author voices.  We’re excited about The List as an amazing way to work hard in the last six weeks of the year.

    Cheers,

    -The Inkshares Team

Eric H. Heisner liked an update for Blue Water
I just wanted to say one last time that I am so grateful for everyone who helped this dream become a reality. Today is the last day of the BLUE WATER Inkshares campaign. After today, the book goes from "Funding" to "In Production." I know I’ve been silent for a bit since we hit Quill, but I’ve been making a few small changes to Blue Water to make it as great as it can be, and worthy of your support. I will continue to update you here as to the progress of the book, as well as release date information as soon as I know it. (I can’t say officially, but if I had to ballpark it, after all the "in production" processes are finished, it will probably be close to Holiday 2017.)

Thank you all for your belief in me and in this book. I hope you like it.

      Joseph

        Good morning Ghosts and Guardians!

Well, I have to express my great appreciation to all of you who followed, liked, reviewed, shared, and pre-ordered my book. Your support means so much to me. It gives me fuel to keep writing and sharing my work. Unfortunately, today is the 14th of November, tomorrow is the last day of my campaign, and I will not reach either the digital or print goal.

No matter! One campaign is done, but one day another will come. I have learned some tricks during this campaign that I plan to use during the the next. A Tale of Ghosts and Guardians will stay on Inkshares in the draft stage. Please continue to like, review, and share the book. A new campaign will have an explosive start with hundreds of followers ready to pre-order.

Again, thank you all. Every writer needs readers and you are the greatest. Don’t forget to be awesome. I’ll see you on the other side.

          Hey guys!
Chris and I delivered the final manuscript to Inkshares on October 20th and we’re just waiting to hear when they’ll be able to move into production. We’ve been diligently posting all of our fancy-dancy art on our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/amaranth_chronicles/

Eric H. Heisner liked an update for Wine Bottles and Broomsticks

            Hey,

Today was the final day of the inkshares.com campaign for Wine Bottles and Broomsticks. In spite of all of the support, and what I would consider very a very-respectable number of pre-orders, we still fell considerably short of the funding goal. Wine Bottles and Broomsticks will not be published through inkshares. However, this is not the end of the road. I will continue exploring avenues in which this project may yet see the light of day. The book is complete, and a sequel in progress. If you’re still interested in following my progress as I move forward, you can do that by checking out my blog onwritingdragons.com, where you can find a link to subscribe to my mailing list. I promise I won’t spam, just the occasional progress report :)

Thank you again for your support, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.
