Hello Readers!

This is a really exciting time for both Welcome to Deadland and me! The book is in the final stages of approval (full dust jacket, internal design, eBook layout) before being sent to the printer in less than a week! I know it seems like ages ago since many of you backed Welcome to Deadland, and I want to thank you all for your patience as we’ve been working hard to get everything in place. The wait is almost over!

Some of you might have seen Inkshares’s recent tweet with a link to their properties page. The purpose of this page is to allow for book properties to be tracked so producers/publishers/etc. can see what options are still available for purchase. This can range from foreign language rights, to film/tv rights, comic book adaptations and more. Even if you’re not someone in the market looking to acquire book rights, it’s a great way to see what other formats you can expect to see your favorite Inkshares books become available in. If you click on the link above you’ll even see Welcome to Deadland  listed along with other books, and a neat surprise!

The audiobook rights have been sold to Audible! That’s right, in the near future not only will you be able to read Welcome to Deadland, but you’ll also be able to listen to it in the car, while working out, walking down the street or anywhere else!

My mom and my aunt and a few of my friends are big into the sign language community, so in a few days (weeks?) I’ll start uploading video of them signing scenes from this story, or from the short stories Boloborolo and Tamachat tell around the campfire.  Stay Tuned!!!  

Also, today is the perfect level of cloudy for walking without breaking a sweat.  I wish each and every one of my followers, and all those they care about, a marvelous day with good things and attainable hope.

I have signed all your preorder copies and they should be getting to you in about two weeks (maybe sooner!) I was unable to think of a unique quote to write in every single book but I was able to write something different in a lot of them. As a consequence some of you are going to get some pretty weird shit in your books. I hope it makes it a little more special. Here’s one of my favorites:

One of you (and I have no way of knowing who it will be) is getting an actual 4-leaf clover in your book. Because I found one that day and thought it would be a nice gesture. So whoever you are, enjoy that. I hope it brings you luck.

Hello all! 

Sorry I’ve been so quite over the past week (or you’re welcome I should say). I’ve been frantically writing and working on a secret project that I will tell you about later. I just posted Chapter 5 and part of 6. I was holding it back because it reveals so much of the plot, but then I just decided to share it, because ... reasons. 

You will notice some of this book is heavily influenced by the fact of the Presidential contest currently going on in this country. I want to be clear, this book is not meant to be some kind of political statement. It is not meant to pick sides, it’s only meant to reflect on the world as it is and probably will be. In fact, in Chapter 7, the other extreme of the political spectrum is protesting NASA. This was not done on purpose, it just happened naturally as part of the plot.

So... this happened.

That’s G.(LORIOUS) Derek Adams, author of ASTEROID MADE OF DRAGONS, and myself (left) at XCON World Comic Convention in Myrtle Beach this past weekend. We sold some books, had some fun, and saw some fantastic cosplay (see below). 

There also may or may not have been a lightly attended panel about crowdfunding hosted by those two handsome devils above.

Hi Everyone!

Quick bit of exciting news - the file is off to the printer today.  There is no officially nothing to be done other than sit on my hands and wait for my babies to come back home.  The initial print run is going to be eight thousand copies.  So tell everyone you know to buy one too.  We need to move some inventory!

I’m also sitting on another exciting piece of news just waiting for final confirmation - look for another update in the next several days.

Sooooo... I put up the prologue.  I originally didn’t have it in place because it does not follow the protagonist directly, but the two people I had look it over said the prologue was actually very important.  So give it a read.  Wishing y’all awesome days!
