Craig A. Munro liked the forum thread, Inkshares Book Club - November: These Are My Friends on Politics
Greetings, inksharesians!

Given the continuing intensity of political discourse this year, I thought it’d be particularly relevant to discuss @Billy O’Keefe ’s These Are My Friends on Politics, but there’s a catch. And it’s an important one.

I’d like to us to avoid talking about the political situation directly. There’s more than enough of that on social networks all over the web, and it is rather vicious. Rather, I’d like us to talk about Billy’s poignant observations about political discourse itself.

So, to start, I’d like to say that Billy’s book couldn’t have come at a better time. Despite the vicious acts of hatred and evil taking place all over the country, he’s got a great point: our conversations often become derailed, dealing less with policy and more with the lack of admirable behavior in our candidates. We talk more about morality than economic policy. And we’re obsessed with our newsfeeds.

Let’s talk! I look forward to reading your thoughts on Billy’s book!

    Friends

The Catcher’s Trap is out in the world and, hopefully, already in your hands. As you can imagine, releasing the book on Election Day, and on a week like we just had in America has been quite interesting.

Still, two days after the election, over one hundred of you came out and supported the release of my book. This past Thursday, the North Haven Barnes and Nobles was flooded with people attending my first ever book signing. It was beautiful and humbling. Fun fact, the mayor of Hamden gave me a proclamation on behalf of the town. I had no idea that was happening and it was a wonderful surprised.

If you missed me on Thursday, you can come and see me at the Hamden Public Library on Sunday, November 20th, at 2 pm. I will be speaking there as part of their guest authors series.

The next step in this thrilling journey is to get reviews. I need to get as many reviews for the Catcher’s Trap as possible in the next coming weeks. So please, once you are ready, go into the links below and leave an honest review. It doesn’t have to be long, just your thoughts about the book. Trust me your review will make a huge difference.

We won!! your girl Bad Medicine was crowned queen!

After the Inkshares contest was over, Crypt TV had to pick the winner between the top three books. The winner gets "Crypt TV branding and promotion. Authors in the Crypt TV collection will also have opportunities to develop their work into other media, such as movies, TV series, and digital productions."

The fellows at Crypt TV were  awesome and decided to include the three finalist in their collection, but there was one little lady who  was picked first. Bad Medicine: Slay it Queen!

You can watch the video with the official announcement here

I have to say thank you to all of you for supporting my crazy idea. If you supported my first novel, The Catcher’s Trap, you know that it will take a while until you get your copy of Bad Medicine, but I promise you it will be worth it. From now on, I’ll dive into working hard to give you the best book I can write.

Craig A. Munro liked an update for The Last Faoii

          Greetings, Faoii!

Just a few short updates to keep you in the loop.

          1) We’re still at 284 pre-orders. We haven’t sold any at all for the month of November. I know that this is because you all put as much force as you could into trying to get us to the top 3 in the G&S contest, and I am still grateful for that. However, the campaign is still going on through the end of the week. If you know of anyone who wants their signed copy, make sure to direct them to the page while there’s still time.

          2) My last beta just finished reading the manuscript. It took him 2 days, which I find comforting. I enjoy it when my betas can’t put the book down! On top of that, he also gave me a WONDERFUL idea on enhancing a part of the book that I really think you’re going to love. I’m currently working on that part, and while I’m frenzied in my desire to perfect it, I’m also elated at how it’s turning out. I look forward to sharing it with you when the book comes out. ;)

          3) Work on the sequel continues. It is... very dark, but I absolutely love it. Possibly even more than the first book, but for different reasons. I might start posting excerpts later on. Let me know if something like that would interest you.

That’s it for now, Faoii. I hope your own battles are going well. Shield up!

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Witherfist

Hello, everyone! Hope you’re having a relaxing start to the weekend.

With 49 days to go, Witherfist has just hit the home stretch.

The book has been fortunate enough to get some extra support and preorders this week from the Epic Fantasy and Rite of Passage syndicates. Both chose Witherfist as their November pick - thank you so much to everyone who recommended and voted, both in these syndicates and in others within the Inkshares community.

With over a month to go, and just 33 additional preorders needed, I’m confident that we can do this!

            ~ Jenny
