Peter Birdsall liked an update for The Last Machine in the Solar System

Hello friends!

This is the update you have all been waiting for - even though you didn't know it! We have the magical release of the movie style video TRAILER for The Last Machine.

I originally wanted to drop this on New Year's Day. But it is simply too epic to hold back for two weeks. I just couldn't do it. Would require far too much willpower.

I must thank Yicheng Liu for his unbelievable and shockingly fast work putting this together. Please check out his novel The Remains of Civilization and send a pre-order his way.

I also want to thank Melissa Berg and Vincent Lim once again for their wonderful reviews, which are included in the trailer.

At the bottom of this update, I've credited the free source material that was used in this video, which can be used by others as well.

Go check the video out on the homepage; you'll be glad you did. I can't stop watching. Just too much fun.

OK, and quickly we have a couple of other quick items to hit on. First, the winner of the 40th reader raffle is Nichole Costa! Nichole, you will be receiving a signed and framed illustrated poem. Congratulations!

Lastly, I want to thank everybody again for the amazing support during this Sword & Laser campaign. The last few days have really shown widespread support for this story, from people I know personally, to my fellow authors. It's truly gratifying. We now have 48 readers and 99 followers. That means two more readers before our special 50th reader raffle. So get in the door while you can! And I'm thinking up something for the 60th reader. It'll be great, like the trailer. I promise.

Peter Birdsall sent an update for Feyside

    Two quick additional things:

First, a periodic note meant especially for my fellow Inkshares authors. I am happy to straight-up trade preorders on our respective works - happy to explore your work, happy to put mine into keen hands, happy to nudge us both a little bit farther down the road to publication! If interested, please email/Twitter DM or simply go ahead and preorder FEYSIDE - if I see you are an active Inkshares author, I will unfailingly reciprocate without further prompting.

Second, another teaser frame from a just completed shot for my promo video. Really excited about this!

Peter Birdsall sent an update for Feyside

      Hello all,
Very very sorry for the protracted radio silence, especially this late in my campaign. Please chalk it up to a combination of the oncoming holidays and some very difficult personal/family circumstances that have demanded much of my attention and may continue to do so for the immediate future. Nevertheless I've been busy on FEYSIDE and its promotion as time permits, and today I can send you some fruits of that work:

First off, Chapter 8 of the book is off to readers. This is a very special chapter, not so much "the heart of the matter" as "the doorway to everywhere." The images and events of the chapter were some of the very first that I imagined and some of the first to be scribbled down, and I worked backwards and forwards to grow the seed of these weird imaginings into a story, root and branch. Hopefully with this chapter you all will begin to have a better sense of the both the broader outlines of the story and its very specific voice. As always, feedback is most welcome!

Additionally, I am also attaching some teaser frames from a promotional video which I hope to release in the next day or three for my final push. These reveal key characters and settings in a more finalized depiction guided by LJ Ruell's wonderful concept art - hopefully they provoke anticipation for the full video to come!

Lastly I remind you all again to stay tuned for the Inkshares Review-a-Thon on December 19th - a chance at great prizes, an awesome opportunity to interact with crowdfunding authors (me included!), and a good time to be had by all...

Hey guys. Sorry if you're getting a bunch of updates. Seems the comment system has issues with Firefox. We're working to get you guys a couple more sample chapters this week. We're nearly done with our rewrite of the entire story and are working hard to get our most interesting chapters to you guys. Obviously we want to intrigue and tantalize you guys rather than just shoving our entire book into Inkshares. Until then check out the latest original art from our Universe!
