Craig A. Munro liked an update for The Seventh Age: Dawn

Welcome to February everyone! By now, hopefully everyone has gotten their books. Some of you, may have started reading by now. So I’ve come to bring you artwork;

This is an image of a hairless squirrel cat rodent rat demon thingy that steals tacos and eats pizza. His name is Sparkles.

Say Hello. Brandwyn did this wonderful little critter, and is working on another demon that will be revealed later. You can find more of her artwork here.

Now this brings us to reviews! If you’ve read the book (liked or disliked) I would very much appreciate it if you left me a review. Rankings, Algorithms, Search Engines, are all based on reaching bench-marks of reviews--so the more reviews I get, the better chances the book has out in the wild.

Audible: (For those Audio Folks:): Click Here

Amazon: Click Here.

GoodReads: Click Here

Barnes and Noble: Click Here.

Pick your flavor of website. Hell, pick all of them if you really are feeling ambitious.

Finally, I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the support. The book is finally out! From here on out, I’ll be posting updates through here maybe once a month. Based on new artwork, con news, or other progress updates on the sequel. I’ve also got a short story about Akira I’ll be bringing out this year as well.

Gah! ~Rick.

      1.) School Visit #1

Thanks to a KOD backer and parent, I was lucky enough to have a school visit in early January at the impressive ACE Academy in Austin, Texas. If you’re ever in need of a healthy dose of self-morale and an unbelievably energetic hour--no espresso needed--, visit a school!

I gave out a ton of illustrated bookmarks and they asked excellent questions the entire session. I look forward to my return visit in the Spring for a creative writing project! I promise I’ll bring a box of actual books down the road...

When I told them my first significant piece of writing was for an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module, they all chanted "D&D! D&D!" How cool is that?

They had no trouble spotting the "Easter Eggs" in my illustrations without any prompting whatsoever.

      A future author!

2.) I have a $10 Inkshares coupon burning a hole through my pocket and don’t know how to spend it?

I’ve been getting this question recently. You supported our project, and Inkshares sent you a $10 coupon to support another project. Now perhaps time is running out or you don’t know what to do with it, or what to spend it on?

Never fear. Open the mail with your Inkshares coupon. Go to Inkshares through the link in that message. You should see a $10 credit applied to your account. As time permits, I’ll be recommending projects that I think worthy of your support.

      Here’s the first one:

Fae Child by Jane-Holly Meissner. Like our project, it’s a fantasy intended for young adults. To quote the author: "A child slips through a portal into the land of the Fae and traverses the Otherworld with the help of a young elf, while her parents are left to deal with the changeling that was left in her place. ALICE IN WONDERLAND meets TAKEN"

Perhaps you’ll never read this or any other project that you select on Inkshares, but know this: Don’t waste your coupon! And coupon or not, at the other end is a hopeful author that will be VERY appreciative of your support. This site can make dreams come true.

      3.) In production...

So things are moving along, but before I speed it up to ludicrous speed and involve a professional editor and get to finishing the illustrations, I wanted to get some meaningful feedback on the first few chapters. I think the prologue is covered, but please feel free to let me know what you like or don’t like about the new Chapter 1 I sent yesterday. Pretty please? You can leave comments, highlight certain sections, etc. Again, you can find Chapter 1 here.

I’ve decided to post one more chapter in the villain’s voice to make sure we’re on target with tone, but then: it’s some quick editing and off to the races!

      4.) NEXT ISSUE...

I grew up collecting comics, and one of the things I loved was to immediately flip to the back and preview the NEXT ISSUE page to see what might be coming. Sacrilege to some of you, I know. But hey, I had to walk a mile to the nearest 7-Eleven across a busy intersection to get my beloved comics. It was worth the peak in the store in case something happened on the way back!

So coming up: I have a long awaited blog forthcoming. A pretty crazy casting call, and well... I’ll save the other news for down the road and not get too far ahead of myself.

Thanks everyone. Stay well, and continue to tell new backers about our project!

      Best,

      Kevin

        Dear friends, backers and followers.

I thought I should update you on the progress of Lies and Deception.

I am done with edits now, and manuscript is almost ready to send to Inkshares. I am currently working on a new cover for the book. Once this will be done I will send that lovely package to Inkshares.

Now let me introduce you to a non Inkshares project. This was the short story I had for the Anthology ; Too Many Controllers.  After we learned that the book wasn’t going to be published by Inkshares. I  decided not to let that  Short Story at the bottom of my hard drive.

I have my short story, Hardcore : Spinning Reels, on :

Amazon, Google Book , Ibook, Barnes and Nobles and Kobo.

0.99c for the ebook, here is the link for the Amazon version .

But the most important thing is once you have read it please  leave a review , as reviews are crucial for us Authors to generate more sales .

        that’s it for now.

I go back working on the new cover for L&D  .

Craig A. Munro liked an update for The Walls are Closing In

The Walls are Closing In has received 200 preorders within the first three weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And one more for good measure. Thank you!

First things first. I owe all of you a couple of things for helping me cross the 100 reader and the 200 order thresholds!

Using a random number generator and a spreadsheet of my first 100 readers, I have selected two winners to either have a minor character named after them or select the name for that character.

The winners are Robert Batten and K.L. Noon.

Congrats! Let me know what you would like to name your character!

As promised, I have also uploaded a mid-book excerpt to commemorate reaching 200 preorders. Experience Patricia and Rexx’s first steps into Zone 36, a town sealed off due to fracking-induced pollution and destruction, and meet my favorite character, Oliver.

The campaign, as it sits now, has a view of the full publishing contract with few obstacles in the way, but still has some hiking to do. If half of those who are following the book on Inkshares, but have not placed an order yet, order, then The Walls are Closing In will surpass the Quill light-publishing mark.

I have been working tirelessly to cross the Quill milestone early. It is important for a variety of reasons. It signifies that the book is happening! Though I am aiming for 750 preorders and a full publishing contract (think marketing, bookstore shelves, public book signing, cover design, and complete developmental edits), passing the Quill mark (think print-on-demand, ISBN, and Amazon listing) means that there will definitely be a book. Advanced promotion to reach outside of my already-tapped circle will then become much simpler, as those in the book-review world are understandably more willing to promote a sure-thing.

Thank you all again for rallying behind me and this book. A special thank you to both my grandfather Allen Ahearn and aunt Beth Fisher, of Quill and Brush, who shared The Walls are Closing In with their broad community of book lovers!

More milestone perks to come! At 300 orders I will release a new novel trailer with teasers.

            -Jacqui

              Afternoon, everyone.

I’ve been quiet here - for a lot of reasons - mainly being embroiled in a lot of other projects! But I wanted to update you on something I’m doing with all of my 2017 royalties for Asteroid Made of Dragons - which, won’t really affect you guys since you already bought the book? I’m donating them all:

Just wanted all of you in the loop on this - you know where to find me if you have questions or comments. @gderekadams on Twitter or comment here or you can email me directly.

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Sync City

                Greetings Jackolytes,

There is movement in the garage, and Jack is getting ready to ride. The final touches are being put on the back cover and spine, and the designer has done a fantastic job. I’ll share it with you when it’s finalized. But what this does mean is that we getting much closer to the publishing date!

I also got this tremendous review from one of my beta readers. He was kind enough to pop it up on Goodreads:

From remarkably edgy, irreverent, and sometimes quirky well developed characters, to movement (sometimes planned, sometimes not) between shifting time lines and realities replete with their own civilizations and cultures, to a shape shifting, sentient frankenbike with an attitude and a best hits of weaponry past, present, and future designed to wreak maximum havoc, Sync City has it all. Ryan had me from the get go, and I peeled through the entirety of it as fast as I could get my hands on new chapters. Another big upside? Unlike some works that have one strong story line, maybe two, and a couple of weaker ones that you’d rather blow through quickly to get back to the good parts, all the lines and characters Ryan builds work in concert and are equally strong and well developed. Grab it, devour it, and get set for the next installation.

If this inspires you to jump on board and have the ride of your life, you can pre-order the paperback at Amazon (ignore the Jan 17th publishing date – I’m trying to get that changed), Barnes and Noble and Book Depository. The ebook is available for the low, low price of $5.99 at Inkshares. Please help send all these books to a good home and don’t forget to share!

                Cheers,

                Peter

Craig A. Munro liked an update for The Last Faoii

                  Greetings, Faoii!

I know that many MANY of you have been sending messengers asking for information about our army’s progress. And, I wish I had more information for you. Inkshares is still working their way through other books before they can even start on ours, so there is no new information yet. In fact, nothing has yet changed from when we hit Quill originally, except that, for some reason, we hit Quill AGAIN randomly nearly 2 months later and Inkshares asked me about how far along the story was. I was pleased to inform them that the manuscript was ready to begin the publishing process, but so far, that is as far as we’ve gone.  I have offered to send them my completed and edited manuscript on several occasions, but they have asked me to wait. So, we’re waiting, faoii. I know that that’s definitely not our specialty, but it’s currently our only option. Don’t lose hope.

I will not lie-- I had hoped to at least send in the manuscript before my surgery at the end of this week. I wanted assurance that it was in the hands of people who could turn it into something real,  just in case.  However, if the nearly-impossible happens and something goes wrong on Thursday, don’t worry. My husband has all of the information as well as the completed manuscript and is prepared to continue the process if necessary. You all WILL get your copies of The Last Faoii. We just need to trust in the people of Inkshares and wait until they are ready for us.

This is not the first time that The Last Faoii has met bumps and obstacles on the way to publication. Remember-- I contacted 200 agents and waited for nearly 2 years before I went through a massive overhaul and at last found Inkshares.  It has been a fight every step of the way-- this is just one more. But we are faoii-- we know that great battles lead to great victories. This will happen, and it will be glorious.

Hopefully, by the time I contact you next it will be to say that the process is finally underway, but I know I said that last time, too. Shields up, regardless, faoii. We may be waiting, but we are not idle.

                  Faoii-Tahani
