Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for Devil’s Call

Friends!

There’s an alternate universe where I do things I say I’m going to do in a timely fashion and don’t pop up a month after my novel’s been published to check and see how everyone’s doing, but you know. Life.

.

In this universe, my father asked me how to leave a review, as there is no information as to how to do so on the Inkshares page. So shout out to Papa Dorn, for without him I would have continued putting off this update.

First off: if you preordered either an ebook or paperback copy, you most definitely should have received it by now. If you haven’t, please contact either myself or the good folks at hello@inkshares.com and we’ll figure out what the heck happened.

Second off: I know some of you aren’t wordsmiths, so even just choosing a number of stars and telling the Internet that you enjoyed the novel and would recommend it helps me out in mysterious ways. There’s an algorithm Amazon uses that helps make Devil’s Call more visible once reviews hit a certain number. My sources say the number is 50, but who knows.

Please note that you need to have an account and be signed in in order to leave a review.

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for Blue Water

    Happy Monday everyone.

Just wanted to let everyone know that after a bit of hyper-focus to the point of nearly blacking out, the BLUE WATER cover has been updated.  I think this is quite near what the final design will look like, but there’s always room for a couple tweaks here or there.  Seeing this makes it all feel pretty real. It’s getting closer and closer to our turn at the plate.

    Whaddaya think, sirs?

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for GLAM

I figured out ho to spam you all. Don’t go updating your email preferences just yet. You might find this entertaining...

This is the red-headed step child book project.

When I created an account, five days ago—seems much longer—I went right into funding that project and entering the Horror 2017 contest. I didn’t realize that creating a draft and sitting on the sidelines to build a following was an option.

Rookie mistake, but my big-brother project came out strong after tapping family and friends for a chunk of orders. But now I’ve tapped out my email list.

This is the book I’d intended to focus on. Once I got a whiff of the gold, my huckster instincts kicked in, and hell, Murder Happens is a good story, too.

I’ll put in a link below if you haven’t checked it out. And maybe a special surprise.

Was thinking about what it means to be a huckster and realized as a writer, huckstering starts the moment we put that first word down on an empty page.

We’re selling something that doesn’t exist except in our imaginations and we need our readers to buy into the con.
The dictionary says the verb huckster is to promote or sell (something, typically a product of questionable value).

See, that’s nice. Because you all get to decide whether or not my stories are of value. That’s a big job and you’ve got to do it. For yourself. For humanity.

Our civilization depends on it. And that makes you a hero.

Okay, hang on, duty calls. BRB. Got to attend to guinea pigs and rabbits. We got a backyard full of rescued creatures...

Okay, so, I definitely want to draw your attention to my other project: Murder Happens. Entice you to follow, maybe even support that story.

But, and I’m dead serious here, I need to know whether you find these stories have any value, else the con will fail.

So, get to work heroes. If you’re interested I might be able to give out a few of the Kindle versions of GLAMS vs. RED PLAIDS. It’s the shorty I wrote first which is part of the novel called GLAM.

Drop me a note, let me know. All I ask is if you read it, kindly leave a review on Amazon. That’s what heroes do.

Brian Fitzpatrick liked an update for The Animal in Man

        I forgot!! How could I…?!

A little over a month ago, I was featured on the Geek Questioner Podcast, Episode #66: Joseph Asphahani & The Replicant Vampire. (You simply CANNOT get a better title for a podcast, if you ask me.) I had a blast geeking out with host Charlie Hoover, covering my latest obsessions like getting to play Dungeons & Dragons after a decade-long hiatus, making ill-advised cosplay-like purchases of Blade Runner 2049 trenchcoats, and the glory that is the animated Castlevania series on Netflix. (Click here for a link to subscribe on their iTunes page.)

And of course, we discuss The Animal in Man a whole lot! Tune in for a teaser about how the story starts in what seems a typical Fantasy world, makes a hissing-grinding stop at Steampunk along the way, and ultimately rockets to the edge of the stratosphere as Sci-Fi.
