Jason Pomerance liked an update for The Madness of Mr. Butler

Sorry to have seemingly spammed you all on this rainy Tuesday morning (in Northeast Ohio, at least, it is autumn now. Whereas last week it was winter and it was spring the week before that.)

I am writing to let you know that, although I am still waiting for production to begin, the book still exists. I have sent the first two chapters of the submitted manuscript for your reading pleasure. I will send more in the future. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Please reach out to me with any questions or if you are curious enough to read more. If you have preordered the book, I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to read any bit of the draft that you wish. (Hint-hint, to those of you who haven’t preordered...)

The book is still planned to be released next February from what I know, but consider that date to be fluid. I am still working on the website and bonus reading material for all of you lovely backers.

And fellow authors: please reach out to me for any needs. We are a community, and if we can help each other out then that community only grows stronger.

That is all for now.

Love to all,

    Hello Friends!

Long, long time ago (well, 2004) there was a fantastic game called City of Heroes.  This video game was my introduction to massively multiplayer online role-playing games (I know, a mouthful) and I became obsessed with it.

City of Heroes was straight forward. You had to create a superhero, fight villains and win experience so you could earn new powers. The game was not only fun, but it was also a place to meet people and make new friends. Even though I don’t know their real names and I never saw their human faces, I forged real friendships with caped crusaders, flying cyborgs, and ruthless amazons.

I devoted many hours to saving Paragon City from evil forces. Later on, when City of Villains was released, I spent many hours fighting the annoying goody-two-shoes heroes. Some guys anxiously wait for Sundays to watch football. For me, Sundays were the day for long missions and task forces.

Unfortunately, on November 30, 2012, the Gods of Paragon Studios decided to shut down the game. It was devastating. We wrote letters, started petitions and even protested on the virtual streets of Paragon. In the end, darkness fell, and City of Heroes was gone.

Inspired by my love for this game I wrote the short story Paragon Falling. Paragon Falling tells the story of Trauco, and JaneTheWarrior, two villains from Aion City, who must run a race against the clock to save their dying world. In the process, they discover that the deities ruling the video games universe can be wicked and capricious.

The short story is now available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, and I would love for you to read it and review it. You don’t need to know anything about this game or any other video game to connect with this story. The main theme is something we can all relate to: survival.

Please, follow the link and enter the world of City of heroes.

Welcome to Paragon, my friends. I hope you enjoy it.

      Greetings Jackolytes,

Sync City’s official publishing date is nigh! Many of you have already received the paperback versions, and the ebook versions should be coming out very soon.

Michael Haase, author of the tremendous Madness of Mr. Butler and staff writer at Renderosity Magazine, recently did an interview with me. It was great fun doing this. You can check it out at The Art of Story.

If this inspires you to take further interest in Sync City, you can find it at the following places:

      Amazon

      Barnes and Noble

      Book Depository

      Inkshares book page

The magnificent Michael Haase’s book can be found here. If you haven’t got a copy yet, now would be the time!

As always, don’t forget to share!

      Cheers,

      Peter

        1. Military Family Charity Donations
        2. MP3 Audiobook CD
        3. New Vai’kel Map!

        1. Military Family Charity Donations

Excited to say we have our final pre-order royalties numbers all figured out! The grand total came to $2,806.33 (again, this was triple checked/confirmed by Inkshares)! So very excited to get these hard earned funds to our four designated Military family charities! With February nearly over, it has been both suggested and requested that I wait until next quarter (just over a month from now) to submit, and I will follow up with you all both here and on my blog once the donations have been made!

Additionally, if you all remember, when my Inkshares campaign ended in October of 2015, I also made my own independent $10,000.00 discretionary grant to ’Our Military Kids’ to support their fabulous work. Although not connected to my RUNE campaign or my pre-order charity pledges, I had really wanted to do all in my power to aid these communities. ’Our Military Kids’ no doubt put those funds to good use, and will do likewise with their share the new funds they are soon to receive!

Thank you all for your help and support in this. We were able to raise a good deal of money for some great organizations! Yay!

        2. MP3 Audiobook CD

Shiro has an important announcement! The MP3 Audiobook CD of Rune of the Apprentice is now available! It’s only $9.99 and super awesome! Not only a perfect collector’s item, this is a wonderful option for those who want the audiobook, but just don’t like digital. And no, I’m sorry I don’t think they are making a cassette tape edition, so we will all have to settle with only CDs! I highly suggest you listen to a free sample HERE! Enjoy!

        3. New Vai’kel Map!

Amazing artist M. S. Corley and I are 95% done with the new Vai’kel map! How exciting! For the next update, I think I am going to do an entire post showing exactly how I made it (with pictures of each step along the way) but for now you can have a seek peak below! Again, I cannot speak more highly of M. S. Corley (if you remember he did RUNE’s cover) and am so excited to show you all the finished map soon! Super stoked to also collaborate with him on the cover art for RUNE’s sequel, Oath of the Apprentice.

Alright, that’s all for now! Thank you all for your support with the charity campaign! I am so proud of our community for making this happen! And, lastly, if you have not yet reviewed RUNE on Amazon and/or Goodreads, good god, please do! THANK YOU! :)

Jason Pomerance liked an update for The Seventh Age: Dawn

Greetings everyone! It’s time for some quick... seriously bad-ass news.

Okay; maybe not that bad-ass. It’s actually just an actual booth number for Emerald City Comic Con next week.

          DD11.

So if you live in Seattle and want to meet up or happen to attend the con. Let me know. Metal and Drinks will commence.

In other things. Reviews. The book has only come out a month ago from now, but in order for Amazon (or the internet) to functionally count it as an ACTUAL book... I’ve got to hit a certain threshold of reviews. (That’s 100 for those who count. I’ve got 10...) Even if you hated the book, that’s okay. Just... if you support the IDEA of authors writing books... take 5 minutes and leave a review on one of these platforms:

Audbile (For you Audio blokes out there): Click HERE

Amazon (For those who wish to feed into the belly of the beast): Click HERE

Goodreads (For those who are cunning enough to copy and paste a review from Amazon): Click HERE

As always, you can follow me or find me on Twitter @CrankyBolt and I’ll have additional written content for everyone in a few months. I’ve already got a short story about Akira done, but I’m waiting till more people finish the book before I get there.

Do you guys think I should try a video update? Let me know.

          ~Rick.

Jason Pomerance liked an update for An Unattractive Vampire

            Hey there Adventureketeers!

A quick update before I delve back into the depths of grad schooliness to let you know that An Unattractive Vampire is Audible’s Daily Deal. For the rest of today (Tuesday February 21st) (2017) The Unattractive Audiobook is only $3.95. Why that’s less than $4.95! (I think...I’m in school for writing, not math.) That’s an entire book--hours of entertainment--for less money than three songs on iTunes. Just the thing for road trips down desolate, lonely roads whose secrets are buried deep from all but the unluckiest outsiders. Nothing says "ignore the feeling that the woods/desert/endless void is watching you with a vampire comedy read by a soothing British voice.
